The contact owns a 2021 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the seat belt and the steering wheel were deteriorated. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it was determined that it was normal wear and tear. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
The rear center seat belt will not latch. Car was taken to dealer and the dealer confirmed it will not latch but did not have the part in stock and gave no estimate on when it would be in.
I was driving and stopped for traffic, however, I was rear ended and resulted in a 4-car pileup. Upon being rear ended and pushed fast toward the car in front and crashing the car in front, the airbags did not deploy. I had a passenger as well. During the accident the driver seatbelt did not lock, however, the passenger one did lock to prevent harm.
The seat belt clips in the back seat that are placed together I feel are backwards. If you look in the backseat behind the driver's seat, that buckle and clip for the middle passengers seat should be flipped around. When utilizing the middle seat belt, it has to go around the seat belt to the left. This to me is a big safety concern as it adds extra pressure to the seatbelt buckling in, should there be an accident. Plus it makes it hard for the person to the left to buckle in their belt because the other seatbelt is in the way. I hope this issue can be fixed and may need to even be a recall.
