Day after bought car, battery dead and all lights lit up on the dash when tried to start. Dealership gave a 256 point inspection and said car passed all elements. Jumped battery with a jump pack then battery started smoking and leaking fluid. Had dealership tow and diagnose problem, replaced the battery. Two days later started car on a cold day and check engine light started flashing and car went into limp mode. Would not accelerate on the highway past 35 mph during heavy traffic leading to unsafe conditions. Drove to service center at the dealership while still flashing and not accelerating. Dealership said it was a cylinder misfire.
My wife reported that as she was making a right turn, driving home in the rain, the radio screen slowly faded to black and then the dashboard went black as well. There was a loss of power but the car did not turn off. The vehicle is a hybrid and it appears that the car was running using the battery as after a short distance the radio screen and dashboard both came on. She does not know if the check engine came on. This is the first time this has happened. If it happens again then I will take the car to the dealership and have it checked out. I am reporting this as it seems that others have had similar issues but so far a common cause has not been found.
The above would not let me check all of the boxes. I’m having continued problems with my 2022 Honda crv hybrid touring, with every warning light on the car all of a sudden starts flashing and eventually the car looses complete power. This is the third time it has happened to me, and after taking it to two different Honda dealerships, no one can tell me what is going on, and then they send me back out on the road, only for it to happen again. Every warning light on the car lights up and every bell goes off. Yet, no one can tell me a thing! it’s resulted in me being stranded and the car inoperable.
It happened twice so far, while driving on the highway, suddenly the car would no longer respond to the accelerator pedal and the car started losing speed meanwhile the warning lights flashes on the dashboard. , in a panic we had to cruise to park on the highways shoulder. Shut the car off thinking the car may have overheated or something, then restarted the engine and the dashboard was very normal, we proceeded to drive cautiously to mechanic, the mechanic found no error code to lead him to any diagnoses. The car drives normally after each incident. We are very concerned that this event could happen in critical situation and cause accident or the faulty component may causing this issue may lead to other more serious power train trouble that will not be covered by warranty in the future. By searching online, we found too many owners have had the same experience but we solution was offered by Honda. We urge you to investigate and help owners to be safe on the roads.
Vehicle developed a cold start misfire when starting in the mornings. It was doing it every so often since the 25th September but it is doing it more frequently now. Taking it in to the dealer to have faulty gdi fuel injectors replaced. Heard it is a common problem on Hondas.
I was driving on the highway and suddenly the gas engine turned off. I was only able to drive on battery power. Pushing the gas pedal only let me go 30 mph. The check engine light was flashing. I pulled over and shut off the car. When I restarted it worked fine. Check engine light was not on anymore. I took the car to the dealership and they could not find any stored codes or replicate the event. Looking online I see many cases of similar problems and Honda can never duplicate it. It is very frightening to be going full highway speed and suddenly loose power. . Read more...
I change my oil about every 3,000 with full synthetic oil. I check the oil level to make sure it isn’t low. I smell a very strong odor of gasoline on the dipstick. I’ve heard Honda has been having a problem with oil dilution. My crv is very hesitant at times and almost caused me to get into an accident on a few occasions. Something needs to be done about this and the government needs Honda to issue a recall. Also they’re having an electrical issue. The dash and screen flicker on and off. This is very frustrating especially at night.
Power system problem light started coming on soon after we bought the car new. It has been towed to barber Honda in bakersfield many times- it dies, won’t start. It is on the 3rd battery within 1st year. The last incident was 10/23/23 the car suddenly lost all power in an area of mountains- I was stranded without cell phone service, it was dangerous. Finally had it towed again- this time they replaced the fuel pump. We have had a lawyer since 4/4/23 and Honda has refused to do anything to about this car! I am scared to drive it.
Parts not staying together.
The electronic dashboard looks like a video game. Both the book and the dealer told me that I must watch the dashboard for the signal that the electric vehicle or ev mode is ready to engage. I must then with my right hand press a button that is below the entertainment center. There is also an economy mode. Again the dashboard tells me when it’s ready and I’m supposed to push that button when that light appears this is very distracting and dangerous. This should all be done automatically by the computer.
