Day after bought car, battery dead and all lights lit up on the dash when tried to start. Dealership gave a 256 point inspection and said car passed all elements. Jumped battery with a jump pack then battery started smoking and leaking fluid. Had dealership tow and diagnose problem, replaced the battery. Two days later started car on a cold day and check engine light started flashing and car went into limp mode. Would not accelerate on the highway past 35 mph during heavy traffic leading to unsafe conditions. Drove to service center at the dealership while still flashing and not accelerating. Dealership said it was a cylinder misfire.
On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, I took my 2022 Honda Cr-v hybrid to the dealership for a routine oil change. The service team told me that all systems showed the vehicle was in good condition. They advised me to return for my next oil change and regular maintenance. I did not drive anywhere on Thursday, November 27, which was thanksgiving day. On Friday, November 28, while driving to work on the highway, the engine warning light turned on and my car began to slow down. Pressing the accelerator did not help—the vehicle would not speed up and lost power while I was driving on the highway. This was a very stressful and unsafe situation. I had to pull over onto the shoulder with a line of cars behind me. My car was towed to the dealership. The dealership said they could not find anything wrong with it. However, I experienced a clear and serious problem. Not only did I miss work, but I also had to pay $238. 95 for the towing service. After researching, I found there was a recall issued on December 18, 2023, for a fuel pump failure that can cause the engine to stall while driving, which increases the risk of a crash. However, this recall did not include the 2022 model year, which is the year of my vehicle. The recall describes exactly what happened to me. Honda should include the 2022 Cr-v hybrid in the recall and therefore; replace the fuel pump module at no cost to help ensure everyone’s safety.
My wife reported that as she was making a right turn, driving home in the rain, the radio screen slowly faded to black and then the dashboard went black as well. There was a loss of power but the car did not turn off. The vehicle is a hybrid and it appears that the car was running using the battery as after a short distance the radio screen and dashboard both came on. She does not know if the check engine came on. This is the first time this has happened. If it happens again then I will take the car to the dealership and have it checked out. I am reporting this as it seems that others have had similar issues but so far a common cause has not been found.
The above would not let me check all of the boxes. I’m having continued problems with my 2022 Honda crv hybrid touring, with every warning light on the car all of a sudden starts flashing and eventually the car looses complete power. This is the third time it has happened to me, and after taking it to two different Honda dealerships, no one can tell me what is going on, and then they send me back out on the road, only for it to happen again. Every warning light on the car lights up and every bell goes off. Yet, no one can tell me a thing! it’s resulted in me being stranded and the car inoperable.
While driving at highway speeds (60-70 mph), vehicle showed blinking check engine light, indicating a misfire. Pressing the gas pedal did not provide power to the wheels, though the engine was still running and revved up. My safety and that of those around me was in danger due to my inability to continue to maintain speed. I had to coast while pulling over to the side of a freeway. I turned the car off and turned it on and the issue appeared to resolve itself with no light on the dash. Took the vehicle to an independent service center, who would not look at the vehicle since the error code would not show from a cleared code. Told me to hope it was a 1 time issue and to stop back by with the light blinking. However, this will not be possible since I get no acceleration when the issue persists. The issue has not been reproduced, nor do I intend to attempt to reproduce it due to the safety issues involved with losing the ability to accelerate while traveling at high speeds on the freeway.
Life safety issue! four times since Feb. 2025 the check engine light comes on and the car loses power and goes into limp mode. The car has been to the Honda mall of georgia service department 3 times, and they are unable to determine the problem because no error codes are ever found. On 4-24-2025 they recommended a valve adjustment as a possible fix which I agreed to and paid for. The car did run better, however on 5-21-2025 the car stalled while I was going 70 mph on an interstate hwy. While I was in the middle lane. I was able to coast to the shoulder, shut the car off and then restart. Not knowing when or where the car will stall while driving is a major safety issue!.
All warning notices started going off & continuously cycling through all warnings possible for everything. Vehicle suddenly lost propulsion. I was on local roadways without heavy traffic or high speeds but had this occurred on a freeway it could have caused a serious threat of injury or death to myself & other vehicles behind me (could cause multi vehicle crash). This has happened 4 times. This last incident is unresolved. The 1st time at 33,069 miles the dealership indicated vehicle had code p0303 cylinder #3 misfire, cylinder a/f test cylinder #1& #2 failed. Oil on dipstick had strong fuel smell. Replaced fouled spark plugs, oil & filter change. Incident #2 at 33,206 miles had cylinder #3 misfire code, cylinder #2 failed cylinder a/f test. Replaced all fuel injectors with new parts kit including gaskets, fuel tubes etc incident#3 at 33,699 miles. Cylinder #3 code p0303. Swapped #1 & #3 coil packs and connected hds laptop, watched cylinder #3 have misfire counts, removed #3 coil & spark plug, installed pressure tester & inserted boroscope into #3 cylinder & watched coolant run down cylinder wall. Cylinder #3 head out of specification for straightness. Spec is 0. 003 & head flatness measured 0. 0032. Replaced cylinder head & all related gaskets, o-rings, bolts etc. Incident #4 dealership notified, vehicle needs to be towed to shop therefore no resolution at this time. Information I (owner) found online indicates 1. 5l turbo engine design flaw leading to chronic & repeated gasket/cylinder failure issues for vehicles with this engine. Replacement with oem parts will not resolve. [xxx] several class-action lawsuits have been filed in the united states & canada related to this engine/issue. The vehicle can be inspected & will share service repair records. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Hi, I've owned this vehicle brand new, 21 miles. I purchased from the dealership. It now has a blown head gasket at 85 k miles. I've spoken to 3 dealerships that have said this is a common problem. I obviously do a lot of driving early morning and late night. This could have been a big safety issue in the dark. I've done all my services on time and even earlier than needed. I hope you can do research on this. Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My 2022 Honda Cr-v hybrid began displaying multiple warning messages around February 2025: “transmission system problem,” “blind spot info system problem,” and “emission system problem. ” the issue was eventually traced to incorrect transmission fluid used from the time of purchase. A diagnostic report confirmed widespread internal transmission damage (e. G. , shift solenoids stuck, low fluid pressure, excessive clutch slippage). As the transmission failed, it overwhelmed the vehicle’s main computer (pcm), causing a breakdown in the f-can network and disabling connected safety systems like the blind spot monitoring and emissions modules. The drivability of the vehicle deteriorated rapidly—gear shifting became rough and unpredictable. The car began struggling to accelerate above 40 mph, especially during inclines or highway merges. This posed a safety risk not only to me but also to passengers and other drivers due to reduced control and system failures. I rely on this vehicle for work and have since had to limit driving to local roads only, avoiding highways entirely. The issue was confirmed by an independent service center. Diagnostic reports and dashboard photos were submitted to the manufacturer, but they have not accepted responsibility. Their representative acknowledged the symptoms but insisted it was the selling dealer’s issue. Meanwhile, the transmission continued to degrade. I believe this defect originated at the manufacturing or pre-delivery stage. The wrong fluid caused irreversible internal damage that has now jeopardized the vehicle's powertrain and safety systems. Despite reports, photos, and repeated communication, the manufacturer has delayed action, and the vehicle is now outside the powertrain warranty mileage due to this delay.
I was on the highway going approximately 65mph for 10 minutes when my engine light turned on and began blinking. Immediately when it turned on I lost the ability to accelerate and had to go across 3 lanes of extremely busy and fast traffic to pull over onto the shoulder. Once I was on the shoulder, I shut my car off for 2 minutes and restarted it and the car worked as normal again. The initial incident occurred on October 4th, 2024, and it has happened again on November 29th, 2024. I do have an image of the engine light on that was taken on October 4th if that would be helpful at all. I've looked online to find out that other Honda Cr-v hybrid owners have had this issue with no fix provided from Honda at all. Their advice is to leave the car running and get it towed to a Honda dealership immediately, which can be extremely expensive depending on your distance to a dealership and sometimes not feasible if I'm on my way to my job and cannot call out "sick". I feel as though this is irresponsible of the dealership to put the onus on consumers, and is clearly a recall waiting to happen that they just haven't admitted to yet.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, several unknown messages became displayed on the instrument panel. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle began to hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and after several days, the dealer performed a valve adjustment to repair the vehicle. Recently while driving 73 mph, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal, with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drove to an independent mechanic. The mechanic retrieved a dtc code for an engine misfire. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Two incidents where the engine suddenly shut off. Incident 1 (August 4th): we had come to a complete stop at a traffic light. After a few seconds the engine shut off (we had auto start/stop disabled), the dash and radio briefly stopped and then the dashboard's indicator lights lid up as they would before a car is started. We put the gear shift into park and restarted the car. It started right away and we had no issues for 1 week. Incident 2 (August 11th): while pulling into our inclined driveway and almost stopped or just stopped, the engine shut off again (this time auto start/stop was active) and the car started to roll back. We applied the brakes, the car stopped. We put the gear shift into park and restarted the car. The car restarted without problems. We are worried because this happened for a second time now and we are not sure if this sudden engine shut off could occur while driving / driving at high speeds.
Car have mechanical failure due to manufacturing defect that american Honda dont take care of it. I buy my car brand new 2years ago,the engine motor damage car not working anymore.
I change my oil about every 3,000 with full synthetic oil. I check the oil level to make sure it isn’t low. I smell a very strong odor of gasoline on the dipstick. I’ve heard Honda has been having a problem with oil dilution. My crv is very hesitant at times and almost caused me to get into an accident on a few occasions. Something needs to be done about this and the government needs Honda to issue a recall. Also they’re having an electrical issue. The dash and screen flicker on and off. This is very frustrating especially at night.
Power system problem light started coming on soon after we bought the car new. It has been towed to barber Honda in bakersfield many times- it dies, won’t start. It is on the 3rd battery within 1st year. The last incident was 10/23/23 the car suddenly lost all power in an area of mountains- I was stranded without cell phone service, it was dangerous. Finally had it towed again- this time they replaced the fuel pump. We have had a lawyer since 4/4/23 and Honda has refused to do anything to about this car! I am scared to drive it.
