1 Forward Collision Avoidance problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2024

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated while driving 45–50 mph, the collision mitigation braking system (cmbs), power steering assist, and lane departure warning lights illuminated. The contact pulled over and contacted the dealer to schedule an appointment for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA action number: ea24002 (forward collision avoidance). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,600.

2 Forward Collision Avoidance problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2024

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at speeds below 60 mph, the brake engaged inadvertently. The contact stated that the forward collision avoidance system was set to brake within two car lengths but there were no vehicles nearby. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the failure was not able to be replicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
