Vehicle information: 2026 Honda Cr-v sport hybridcomponent: power train / hydraulic brakes / electronic stability controldescription of incident:on [date], my 2026 Honda Cr-v sport hybrid was parked facing uphill on a steep incline. I started the vehicle, depressed the brake pedal, released the electronic parking brake, and shifted into drive. Upon transitioning to the accelerator, the vehicle failed to hold its position. It immediately and rapidly rolled backward down the incline, completely overriding the hill start assist (hsa) mechanism. Despite accelerator input, the hybrid powertrain failed to deliver the instantaneous forward torque required to counter gravity. The vehicle gained rearward momentum and collided with a closed gate. Safety justification:this un-commanded rollback presents a severe, systemic safety hazard. Research into hybrid consumer data reveals a documented pattern of drivers being blindsided by the lack of traditional automatic transmission "idle-creep" torque on inclines, combined with counter-intuitive electronic hsa deactivation thresholds. The vehicle’s software logic fails to safely manage dual-pedal inputs during hill starts, creating an unreasonable risk of rollback collisions.
I am writing to formally request that Honda investigate and acknowledge a significant security and safety concern regarding the front radar module used on certain Honda vehicles equipped with Honda sensing. The front radar module appears to be easily accessible from the front of the vehicle and can reportedly be removed by a thief in a matter of seconds without requiring specialized tools. Because of its location and lack of adequate theft protection, it has become an attractive target for theft. The theft of this component is more than a financial inconvenience. Once the radar module is removed, critical driver-assistance and safety features—including adaptive cruise control (acc), the collision mitigation braking system (cmbs), forward collision warning, and other Honda sensing functions—may become unavailable until the sensor is replaced and professionally calibrated. This can leave owners without important safety technologies they relied upon when purchasing the vehicle. I respectfully ask Honda to investigate this issue, acknowledge the vulnerability, and consider implementing a remedy for affected vehicles. Possible solutions could include an improved anti-theft mounting system, a redesigned sensor location, or other security enhancements that make unauthorized removal significantly more difficult. As Honda owners, we should be able to feel confident leaving our vehicles parked without worrying that a critical safety component can be stolen in seconds. Beyond the financial burden of replacing the radar module, the loss of these safety features can affect the safe operation of the vehicle and diminish driver confidence. I urge Honda to take this concern seriously, communicate with affected owners, and evaluate whether a service campaign or safety recall is appropriate. At a minimum, I hope Honda will acknowledge the issue and work toward a solution that improves the security of the front radar module and restores owners' confidence in the safety of their vehicl.
Sudden loss of braking power on June 29, 2026, with sudden brake warnings. We had the same error after taking delivery of the vehicle in September 2025. The dealership repaired the vehicle (brake sensor). We have another dealer appointment on July 6, 2026 to repair this again. Very concerning from a safety perspective that this is occurring again.
Driving in the rain on the interstate and during acceleration, engine just lost all power. Recovered within 2-4 minutes. After 1 hour of driving, it repeated again. Hard rain conditions. Engine lost all power and wanted to die. I had my family with me and the first incident was merging onto [xxx] with a semi truck quickly closing onto me. Fortunately, he saw I was having issues and slowed down and gave me room. Then when it happened again, pouring rain, night time conditions and the dash lights were flickering and engine was just bogging down during any acceleration. Nursed it to a well lit gas station. Turned off and when re-started- no further issues but drove with the cel on for well over an hour. Took to jefferies Honda in roseville, michigan where they charged me $200 just to diagnose the issue, even though the vehicle is still under warranty. Provided a printout of the "results" from the computer but it only is of the "live data"- not the recorded data. Not only that but I suspect they never really checked as the mileage listed on that page does not match the mileage on their report. I suspect my vehicle is about to come out of warrenty so easy to state "no faults found" even though we almost caused multiple accidents every time the engine was failing on the interstate. Check-engine lamp flashed and went off and then eventually came on solid for well over an hour so I know data exists but I suspect jeffries deleted it when they stated "no faults found"- impossible. My wife and I were in the car and know what we experienced. Huge safety concern and now I don't trust Honda. They did not diagnose nor fix anything. Only charged me and sent me on my way. Explained when I complained that their service people may have made a mistake "with the mileage" section. I suspect they took my car out for a spin. I have the print out- why have a "mileage in/out" section if they won't use? doesn't add up. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The infotainment center isn't working as expected: * wireless carplay disconnecting. * navigation freezing or showing incorrect locations. * music and podcast interruptions. * poor call quality. * siri stopping mid-message.
My wife and daughter which I was driving on [xxx] stated they here a noise it was raining I thought in was the rain hitting the sunroof it was making a rattling noise. I got off the interstate and park, look at the top of the roof my sunroof glass was broken,I look for debris or rock nothing ,call the autonation Honda on covington pike in memphis,TN took the car to autonation collision in memphis they look at the sunroof glass no rock or debris and they warranty do not cover sunroof I thinking a defect once I left and going home all the sensor came on. I am filing a safety complaint regarding my new Honda Cr-v which is 6 months old. Water seeped into my parked and closed vehicle, and after that I experienced multiple hazard warning lights on the dashboard while driving on xx, which caused panic and concern for safety. The next day, the vehicle became unresponsive and the battery went dead. This was alarming because the warning lights appeared during highway driving, where a sudden electrical or system failure could create a crash risk. The vehicle had been parked and closed when the water intrusion occurred, so I am concerned there may be a defect related to water sealing, electrical systems, or battery failure. The dealer confirmed that the seal was broken and might have been a manufacturing defect. This caused water seepage. But they were not sure if the water seepage was related to battery giving electrical warnings and going dead. This uncertainty caused more insecurity as we do not know the reason for battery failure exactly when water leaked into the vehicle. Please investigate whether this issue is related to a safety defect. I request that this complaint be reviewed for any pattern involving water intrusion, dashboard warnings, electrical failure, or battery drain in this model. Vehicle information: year: 2026 make: Honda model: Cr-v VIN: [xxx] mileage: 3166 mi date of incident: 05-24-2026 location of incident: [xxx] additional details: water seeped into the vehicle while it was parked and closed. Dashboard hazard lights illuminated while driving on I-95. The next day, the vehicle was unresponsive and the battery was dead. I have photos/videos/repair records. The warning lights were flashing hazard icons and system warning lights. The vehicle lost power and had to be towed to dealership on Tuesday, 05-26. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
While driving, car engine stutters and stops. The infotainment system went black while driving. The system is hard to steer often while turning. The trunk would not open when touching button for it to open. Took out the key fob and it also would not respond. Used the door release from dash and still would not open. Cancel the control unit then tried again and key fob worked that time. I went to dealer and it was reset, and this all happened after the reset. Car was inspected on may 6 at ed napleton Honda st. Peters. Miles 8766. Car purchased at 6500 miles. Recall srs software was performed.
The infotainment system reboots while driving, including on the highway. This has happened since day one, and Honda has said they do not have a fix. Whether connected by usb or bluetooth, the system eventually crashes or reboots after some time on the road. After rebooting, it often still does not work properly. I then have to reconnect the device or even reset the infotainment system to get it working again. This creates a serious safety risk because it forces the driver to deal with the system while driving.
The vehicle displays inaccurate fuel level and miles-to-empty information, creating a safety risk because the driver cannot reliably determine how much fuel is actually available or how far the vehicle can be driven. The infotainment system also freezes and carplay frequently becomes unusable. There was also a key recognition / “key not detected” malfunction. These issues have occurred in a new vehicle and remain unresolved after multiple dealer visits.
Sudden unintended acceleration (sua) I was pulling into a parking spot in a parking structure. I was coasting into the spot and applied the brakes. Upon releasing the break and allowing the car to coast, it unintentionally lurched forward with some acceleration even though I did not press on the gas petal. This results in the car lurching forward and hitting the parking garage wall. A call to the dealer indicated there is no reported problems of this kind and there are no recalls. There were no symptoms or lights indicating a potential problem. Car is only 4. 5 months old and purchased new. This was the first instance of this happening.
Date of incident: February 6, 2026 time: approximately 2:30 pm on February 6, 2026, at approximately 2:30 pm, I came to a complete stop at a stop sign. As I began making a turn, the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly accelerated without my intention to increase speed. This unexpected acceleration caused the vehicle to strike a small tree. The vehicle sustained damage to the passenger-side front area. No other vehicles or individuals were involved. I was not injured. Component/system suspected: possible unintended acceleration related to the engine, throttle, or electronic acceleration control system. Exact cause unknown. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: the sudden acceleration placed my safety at risk and could have resulted in serious injury or a more severe accident if other vehicles or pedestrians had been present. Dealer inspection: on February 7 at 9:30 am, my husband and I took the vehicle to Honda west, the dealership where it was purchased in December. We explained the incident and requested a safety inspection. No diagnostic or technical tests were performed. The dealer only drove the vehicle approximately 4 miles and stated that everything appeared normal. Manufacturer contact: on February 9, I contacted Honda customer service and opened a safety case (case no. 16162399). I was told I would receive a return call within 24 hours. As of February 13, after calling daily, I have not received any follow-up. I was informed again that I may receive a call on February 17. Warning signs prior to incident: no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms were present before the incident. Request: I am requesting a full technical and safety inspection to determine the cause of this incident, as I am concerned about the ongoing safety of this vehicle.
The infotainment display on my [2025/2026] Honda Cr-v became stuck in an extremely dim state during daylight hours. While the menus, maps, and settings were nearly illegible, the backup camera continued to display at full, normal brightness when shifted into reverse. I attempted a full system reboot (holding the power/volume knob) and adjusted the physical brightness dial on the instrument cluster, but the screen remained locked in the dim state. The system did not return to normal functionality until the vehicle was parked and shut off overnight. This indicates a deep software logic error that resists manual resets and only clears after a prolonged power-down cycle. This failure resulted in a significant safety hazard. The dimness rendered the navigation system unusable, causing extreme driver distraction as I had to take my eyes off the road to attempt to read the screen. The unpredictable nature of this glitch means it could recur at any time, potentially disabling access to critical vehicle safety information or navigation during transit. I performed a manual software reboot and cycled the ignition multiple times, yet the screen remained dim. The hardware clearly had the capacity for full brightness (as evidenced by the backup camera), but the software refused to restore daytime levels for any other function until the car performed a "deep sleep" cycle overnight.
When it rains, back up camera footage becomes hazy, unclear, blurred, unreadable- cause rain water falls on to the rear camera. So backing up becomes very difficult and unsafe, when it rains. Can’t see clearly what’s behind of the car. This is a serious safety issue.
This is a new vehicle with around 800 miles purchased in early December, 2025. I started the vehicle and let it warm up at least 10 minutes. I was able to drive to my destination around 5 miles from home. 20 minutes later when I planned to drive home, many dashboard lights came on with some flashing and one beeping. Vehicle started but was cold and limp. Would not accelerate beyond around 20 mph. Had to drive home with flashers on. Based on reading, it may be caused by an inadequate 12v battery. Have service appt at Honda dealer on 1/26/2026. Talked to wilde Honda service dept. Staff immediately after incident, and they mentioned that they had recently seen other crv hybrid vehicles with multiple warning lights. I scheduled a service appt for 1/26/2026 but am concerned about driving safely to dealership.
During a cold spell in my city my brand new Honda crv hybrid had difficulty starting and major warning signal appeared on the dash. We took it to the dealer of purchase but they are giving us difficulties replacing the low voltage battery that doesn't work in this climate! when looked up reviews on this car the websites of poor battery performance in cold weather areas are numerous.
The hybrid battery fan is emitting a loud, high-pitched noise from the back of the vehicle while driving on the highway. It makes it difficult to drive and gives me a headache, which makes it difficult to focus and endangers my own safety and those around me. The dealership has acknowledged that this is an issue for my vehicle, but states that there is no solution offered by Honda at this time.
Car burst into flames after sitting idle for 9 hours.
The contact owns a 2026 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph with the forward collision avoidance: adaptive cruise control feature activated, the vehicle independently decelerated unintendedly. The vehicle resumed normal driving operation immediately after the failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the contact alerted a service technician that the forward collision avoidance: adaptive cruise control failure was an issue with the apple carplay feature. The service technician acknowledged that the apple carplay feature was a known issue and linked the adaptive cruise failure with that same defect. The service technician reset the software to the original factory settings to correct the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and acknowledged that the apple carplay failure was a known issue. The contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200.
The contact owns a 2026 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that the infotainment system screen occasionally turned black or would freeze, which prevented the driver from having access to systems or safety features that could only be engaged through the infotainment system. Additionally, the contact stated that the rearview camera image was black due to the failure. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60-65 mph, the contact heard a male voice coming from the infotainment system. The contact realized that a voicemail message that a customer had left to the contact several weeks prior was playing. The contact stated that the failures occurred intermittently but had become more persistent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that a software update for the infotainment system was needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.
Wireless carplay – siri message playback cuts off mid-sentence vehicle: 2026 Honda Cr-v exl symptom: when connected to wireless apple carplay, siri begins to read incoming text messages (“john says…”) but cuts off after a few words, as if the message has ended. Wired carplay works correctly and reads the full message. Troubleshooting done: •iphone tested on latest ios, siri voice re-downloaded. •wireless carplay connection reset and re-paired. •issue confirmed to occur only in wireless mode; wired mode works. •multiple long messages tested; same cutoff point occurs.
