1 Rearview System Braking problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2026

I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding a serious potential design vulnerability involving the front radar sensor on my 2026 Honda cr\-v ex\. My vehicle is only four months old, and the front radar sensor and Honda emblem were recently stolen\. This resulted in numerous dashboard warnings and disabled important collision\-avoidance and driver\-assistance features\. It is unacceptable that such a critical safety component appears to be easily accessible and removable, leaving drivers without essential safety technology\. Other Honda owners have reported similar thefts, raising concerns that this may be a widespread issue rather than an isolated incident\. Replacement and calibration can cost approximately $1,700–$2,500\. Why should consumers be financially responsible for replacing an essential safety component that may be inadequately protected by the manufacturer? I am leasing a brand\-new vehicle and should not have to pay thousands of dollars or rely on aftermarket security devices to protect critical safety equipment\. Even after replacement, the vehicle remains vulnerable to another theft\. I strongly urge NHTSA to investigate whether this represents a safety\-related design defect and determine whether Honda should be required to implement protective measures or initiate a recall\. I also believe Honda should take financial responsibility by covering replacement costs, reimbursing affected owners, or providing manufacturer\-funded repairs and security modifications\. This is not simply a theft issue\. It is a serious vehicle safety concern that deserves immediate attention\. Honda must take responsibility for investigating and addressing this vulnerability rather than leaving consumers to bear the financial burden and safety consequences please escalate as able and I am requesting a response back with case number as applicable. Thank you.
