1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2023

All warning lights came on-ldw/abs/vsa/fcw at first around 7/25/23 . Called Honda service-told to bring it in for diagnostic check. Then on 7/27/23 power steering went out-had car towed in to dealer-they fixed/replaced eps control unit under extended warranty extension 19-036. They diagnosed the electrical systems -said it needed vsa modulator ($2222. 36 prepaid)-and said safe to drive. That was at 54,947 miles on the car-after a couple of weeks, the ‘brake light’ warning light came on -at first intermittently-then every time-then intermittently again. Called dealership-said -yes-that’s normal, that it happened to other Honda Crosstours an Honda accords! they said ‘ should be safe to drive’ —???? would you feel safe to driving this vehicle? looked online -found article on the vsa modulator-many Honda Crosstours and accords had this same problem-saw a picture on why this modulator needed to be replaced-the ‘design flaw’ was at the connection where it connected to the circuit board -solder broke, because too much pressure at connection when it plugged in ( vertically plugged in) this should be fixed under extended warranty like the power steering control unt— how or why the ‘brake warning light’ is unexplained, but it’s it a safety issue not knowing? if the brakes fail and someone is injured, minor or fatally, ‘who’s responsible’ -or ‘liable’-the driver or the manufacturer??????? my Crosstour still awaiting vsa modulator after two and a half months!! issue: 1. Safe to drive 2. Who should pay 3. Who’s responsibility? (liability).

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2017

Rear brake calipers required replacement at 31000 miles, which I believe to be a manufacturing problem, and which required replacement of rear brake pads as a result.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2015

When attempting to accelerate from a stoplight, a slight push on the gas pedal has no effect on the car. Since there is no reaction from the car I will push down slightly further on the gas pedal in which case the car absolutely takes off and almost spins tires. Very dangerous in certain situations, especially with the more powerful v6 engine I have in my Crosstour. This happens at least once a month and scares the living hell out of me. Next time I buy a car, I am getting on this website first. All but one Crosstour complaint is specifically related to this issue.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2013

Soon after purchasing this vehicle, the carpeting started coming out from the trim in the backseat floorboard. We are retired couple so typically no one sit in the back seat causing this issue to occur. We took the vehicle to the dealership where we purchased the vehicle and they tried stapling the carpet back under the trim piece; however, it soon came out. In the meantime, my husband got very ill and was in and out of hospitals for over a year so this issue took a back seat to his health issues. Now he is well, and addressing this continuing issue which he did with american Honda; however, they pretty much told us that there wasn't anything they could do about it. Come on. . . This is something that is quite obviously a manufacture mistake. They have cut that carpeting too short or just tried using a leftover piece. This is not something we have done. We are good customers, loyal customers and we talk up our Honda at every turn, but this is really causing us some angst between Honda and us - the customers. Someone please help us.

When we first purchased this 2013 Honda we loved it as it is a beautiful car. My husband and I started noticing a hesitation when stepping down on gas pedal to move across oncoming traffic into the right hand lane making a left turn. The hesitation became frightening. The service department manager explained to me that this was normal for Honda as it was a transition period while checking traction. We see it as dangerous. Now that we own the car since 3/7/14 we need to know what our options are. Do we have to wait until there is an accident?.
