1 Equipment problem of the 2014 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 12/20/2025

I first experienced the abs, traction control, and brake warning lights on December 20, 2025, while driving. I knew something was wrong because whenever I turned the steering wheel, braked hard, or drove over potholes, all three lights would come on and remain lit for about a minute. Each time I turned the car off and restarted it, the lights would disappear. However, if I drove the vehicle for an extended period, the lights would eventually come back on. At first, I believed the issue was related to my brakes. I ordered new brakes and rotors and had them installed by my certified mechanic. Unfortunately, about an hour after the repair, the abs, traction control, and brake lights came on again. I immediately contacted my mechanic and brought the vehicle back in for a diagnostic test. The diagnostic results showed that the abs module is faulty. My mechanic explained that this malfunction is what is causing all three warning lights to appear on my dashboard. I was advised that the abs module must be replaced by the manufacturer or a dealership. After researching this issue, I discovered that this same problem has occurred on multiple occasions with Honda Crosstours over the years, indicating that this may be a known or recurring defect. I fear for my safety and life.

2 Equipment problem of the 2014 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 01/18/2025

I am having problems with my car starting… even after replacing the starter 3 times. I am having the exact issue referenced in TSB no. 16-002. I can hear the grinding noise but due to the incorrect positioning of the torque converter ring gear, the starter isn’t spinning the engine at startup even after replacing the starter. I can’t afford to keep replacing the starter and have my car not start everyday. Is Honda able to help with this issue?.

3 Equipment problem of the 2014 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 01/12/2025

The rear camera, backup camera appears to have bad seal. The inside fogs up. Blurring the camera image. This eventually leads to failure. I had the Honda dealer replace my previous original camera at my expense, a year later the same problem has arisen. The camera mounted on the passenger side mirror does not have this issue and seems to be a different model camera.

4 Equipment problem of the 2013 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 07/28/2023

All warning lights came on-ldw/abs/vsa/fcw at first around 7/25/23 . Called Honda service-told to bring it in for diagnostic check. Then on 7/27/23 power steering went out-had car towed in to dealer-they fixed/replaced eps control unit under extended warranty extension 19-036. They diagnosed the electrical systems -said it needed vsa modulator ($2222. 36 prepaid)-and said safe to drive. That was at 54,947 miles on the car-after a couple of weeks, the ‘brake light’ warning light came on -at first intermittently-then every time-then intermittently again. Called dealership-said -yes-that’s normal, that it happened to other Honda Crosstours an Honda accords! they said ‘ should be safe to drive’ —???? would you feel safe to driving this vehicle? looked online -found article on the vsa modulator-many Honda Crosstours and accords had this same problem-saw a picture on why this modulator needed to be replaced-the ‘design flaw’ was at the connection where it connected to the circuit board -solder broke, because too much pressure at connection when it plugged in ( vertically plugged in) this should be fixed under extended warranty like the power steering control unt— how or why the ‘brake warning light’ is unexplained, but it’s it a safety issue not knowing? if the brakes fail and someone is injured, minor or fatally, ‘who’s responsible’ -or ‘liable’-the driver or the manufacturer??????? my Crosstour still awaiting vsa modulator after two and a half months!! issue: 1. Safe to drive 2. Who should pay 3. Who’s responsibility? (liability).

5 Equipment problem of the 2012 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 09/14/2022

Honda is aware of faulty vtc actuators on certain models. There is no active recall to repair the defective part. This issue causes extra wear on the engine, which could then lead to catastrophic failure. That causes great hazard as that failure can occur at any time. Honda is currently charging owners roughly $2000 (in wake county, nc) to repair this issue. This should be a covered recall for all owners, to avoid engine failure, accidents, and potential deaths on the roads.

6 Equipment problem of the 2012 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 02/25/2021

Sunroof glass exploded while in a retracted position. Vehicle was on an interstate highway at the time and glass rained into the cabin creating a dangerous situation. Fortunately there were no injuries. So far, there is no explanation for what happened,. There is no indication that anything hit the roof.

7 Equipment problem of the 2010 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 11/23/2019

My 2010 Honda accord Crosstour was low in oil but the engine oil light never came on to warn me. However the engine light did come on. I had oil and took it to dealer for an oil change which was not due. The dealer did not want to reset the engine light. The engine light error code p3497. Several Honda car owners have complained about the p3497 error code staying on. This is costing consumers a lot of money to have a diagnostic on the error code and repairs. This should be a recall. Frustrated Honda owner.

Vehicle did not start x2, with typical starter-related grinding noise. Honda has a starter problem in a model year with a documented service campaign for starter problems. Apparently my VIN is not included in the campaign. Service bulletin TSB 16-002.

10 Equipment problem of the 2015 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 11/02/2017

I purchased my 2015 Honda cross tour (new) as hold over. My car has 40,000 miles on it, I have serviced my vehicle faithfully. I brought my vehicle in for oil change and tire rotation and was told my tires are completely worn down. This is my second set of tires. The first set was completely worn down by 20,000, I was then told it was because they were factory tires. I purchased very good tires and was told again they are completely worn down. This is wrong.

11 Equipment problem of the 2013 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 07/05/2017

Rear brake calipers required replacement at 31000 miles, which I believe to be a manufacturing problem, and which required replacement of rear brake pads as a result.

12 Equipment problem of the 2015 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 01/20/2017

Lights come on in interior of car and want go out.

13 Equipment problem of the 2012 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 12/23/2015

On 12/23/15 took vehicle to shop felt a shimmy in the front end. Wanted to make sure car was not out of alignment. After checking all the normal check points (ie. . Tires, wheel balance, motor and transmission mount), did a check on both right and left axles. Mechanic stated they were both full of holes and ordered from Honda both axles. Mechanic was told they were on back order. Got the left axle mid January. On Feb 2 after the right axle was to be shipped we got a fax from Honda stating that these axles were on national back order and there was no eta. It is 3/29/16 still waiting for right axle. I have opened a case ticket with Honda but have been told the same thing. I find it difficult to believe that this part in on national back-order and that there is no recall. I have been unable to drive my car since late December due to this dangerous issue.

14 Equipment problem of the 2013 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 01/14/2015

When attempting to accelerate from a stoplight, a slight push on the gas pedal has no effect on the car. Since there is no reaction from the car I will push down slightly further on the gas pedal in which case the car absolutely takes off and almost spins tires. Very dangerous in certain situations, especially with the more powerful v6 engine I have in my Crosstour. This happens at least once a month and scares the living hell out of me. Next time I buy a car, I am getting on this website first. All but one Crosstour complaint is specifically related to this issue.

15 Equipment problem of the 2012 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 03/28/2014

I was driving south on highway 680 in walnut creek CA around 2;00 pm. Traffic was very light and my sunroof exploded after a loud bang! I pulled over and couldn't find anything in the car that indicated that it was hit by an object.

16 Equipment problem of the 2013 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 10/01/2013

Soon after purchasing this vehicle, the carpeting started coming out from the trim in the backseat floorboard. We are retired couple so typically no one sit in the back seat causing this issue to occur. We took the vehicle to the dealership where we purchased the vehicle and they tried stapling the carpet back under the trim piece; however, it soon came out. In the meantime, my husband got very ill and was in and out of hospitals for over a year so this issue took a back seat to his health issues. Now he is well, and addressing this continuing issue which he did with american Honda; however, they pretty much told us that there wasn't anything they could do about it. Come on. . . This is something that is quite obviously a manufacture mistake. They have cut that carpeting too short or just tried using a leftover piece. This is not something we have done. We are good customers, loyal customers and we talk up our Honda at every turn, but this is really causing us some angst between Honda and us - the customers. Someone please help us.

17 Equipment problem of the 2013 Honda Crosstour

Failure Date: 06/05/2013

When we first purchased this 2013 Honda we loved it as it is a beautiful car. My husband and I started noticing a hesitation when stepping down on gas pedal to move across oncoming traffic into the right hand lane making a left turn. The hesitation became frightening. The service department manager explained to me that this was normal for Honda as it was a transition period while checking traction. We see it as dangerous. Now that we own the car since 3/7/14 we need to know what our options are. Do we have to wait until there is an accident?.
