1 Warning Light On problem

Opds sensor failed/tripped. Vehicle was stationary. No accident/collision involved. Airbag warning light on dash constantly on. Although opds sensor is clearly part of srs, Honda dealership claims it falls outside of srs lifetime warranty/warranty extension. Concern over side airbag deployment in case of accident.

2 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 02/26/2010

The contact owns a 2006 Honda Element. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, there was an unusually loud noise coming from the vehicle immediately followed by the air bag warning light illuminating on the instrument panel. While driving at speeds of 65 mph, within an hour, the driver side air bag partially deployed. The dealer could not duplicate nor determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was contacted but was not willing to provide any assistance. There were no repairs made to the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 23,601 and the current mileage was 24,704. The VIN was not available.
