The fuel filler neck has rusted through. If pumping gas into the vehicle, gasoline runs onto the ground by the rear tire. The rear trailing arm of the suspension has significant rust. I am concerned this suspension part could fail and become unattached to the vehicle frame/body. The canadian transportation board has ordered a recall to repairs these issues. From transport canada: toronto, ontario — Honda is recalling all 2003-2011 Element suvs, warning of rusting rear frames that could result in the complete separation of the rear trailing arm.

Vtec oil pressure switch low voltage threw a code so I replaced entire mechanism, I don't know the name buy removed wire snaps and three bolts and replaced with brand new, and reattached. Unplugged battery till all reserve was gone. Plugged back up [battery] drove, but still as I hit 3000 rpm and vtec turns on shoots check engine light and vehicle jukes. I have already changed oil, made sure proper level proper weight had flushed as to clean out any debris. Made sure all connections were tight, but nothing fixes problem.

Sometimes the automatic transmission slams hard when shifting from first gear into second gear causing the vehicle to lunge. Also when the vehicle is first started and placed in gear it will take off and go 20mph with out depressing excelerator. When engine runs about 10 minutes it will operate as it should . This vehicle had a transmission recall eariler and wonder if the problems were truly resolved or not even though the vehicle was serviced.
My wife was coming to a stop at a traffic light. The engine suddenly started accelerating and she pressed the brakes to try to stop it. She eventually put it in park to stop the car, but the engine continued to go to maximum rpm. The car was towed to the Honda dealer where it was still exhibiting the problem.
Needle on gas gauge popped out and is now resting at the bottom of the plastic enclosure - at the same time that the needle on the gas gauge popped out - the tachometer ceased working and the needle now points at what would be six o'clock - the simultaneous failure occurred after a brutal cold spell.
