The problem I have there is 3 recalls for my vehicle. One is the urgent as takata airbags installed. I called local Honda dealer on 6/27/25, they order the part and I received the email stating that part arrived. I called dealer today to schedule a replacement. When I ask how long it will take, lady say about 1/2 day. When I ask if Honda will give me car to drive in that time, she stated no. , but I can rent a vehicle for $75. Dealers name: gary smith Honda, 225 miracle strip sw, FL. , 32548. Is it safe to drive this car?.
When I went to turn my car on the key/ignition does not turn,.
I was taking a ride through the mountains and had parked and when I tried to start the car the ignition switch wouldn't turn like it was locked, I was by my self, and it started raining and my window was down , I couldn't get ahold of anyone who could come help me so I had to figure out how to start the car a different way which I had to use whatever I had handy ,,well it took a whole day and more for me to finally get it started, when I did I start smelling burning , I was freaking out , when I noticed it was coming from my window switch, I started trying to get the fire to stop and I shut off the car. So I had to take off the panel to get the part off so I could get off the mountain. I didn't know that that was an already known recall or I would have gotten it fixed sooner, I didn't learn about it until I received an urgent notice in the mail about airbag inflator . So I am here at the pye Honda in dalton GA.
After rainfall, water is collecting (and not draining) in the backseat floor area (under the carpet) and also in the rear hatch, where the spare tire is located. The rubber seals on the back doors are in good condition - and there are no visible signs of water spotting on the inside of the back doors or the rear hatch area - so it's difficult to tell where the water is coming in from. I pulled the carpet up in the back seat area and have towels down to absorb the water. I also have the back seats up and have towels below them the continue to get soaked after it rains. The towels on the passenger side of the car seem to collect more water than the driver-side towels. I've read numerous reports of similar issues with 2007 and 2008 Honda Fits but no recall has been issued. It's a health hazard to have water and dampness inside a vehicle, where mold collects/grows. I have not taken my car to the dealer yet as most reports of people who have say they have taken their cars in numerous times with no remedy. I'm going to try to investigate where the water is coming in on my own, but from the stories I've read online this seems to be a real issue with 2007 & 2008 Fits.
After a heavy rain, the floor mats in the back seats become soaked to the point where they develop mold even after the water is cleaned-up. Children sit in the back seat and are exposed to unhealthy conditions. The water seams to be coming from the front door/window area and is seeping into the interior of the door to the back floor area, mostly on the passenger side of the car. My research indicates that several other Honda Fit owners also have that problem. I must take it in to have it repaired because I believe it is a health hazard. But it seems to be a flaw in the original structure that should be repaired by Honda.
Honda Fit sport :engine warning light stays on for weeks then turns off unexpectedly then back on again since about August 2014. I completed the 120,000 mile recommended service at the Honda dealership near where I was at the time but the engine light came back on then off again intermittently regardless of the service. Not sure if it is related to the engine surge I am worried about now (March 2015) accompanied by my paddle shifters not working while in d mode. I experienced this when accelerating at 20mph and again at 35mph my engine had high rpms the engine sounded like it surged and made a thud as though the engine would fall out of my car. I was really nervous to continue driving in stop and go traffic as each time I accelerated it happened again at 20 mph. At my destination for two hours I then drove home with some hills and winding roads and put my car in s mode to see if paddle shifters would work or reset in some manner, which it did start working. The surging ceased to happen in s mode so I decided to shift into d mode to see if paddle shifters would work properly and they did as I continued to drive home forty minutes. The orange engine light is still on and paddle shifters seem to be working in both s and d mode now wondering what to get checked out. Since I spent all that money on the major service and was told the car should work well for the next 150,000 it's now near 148,000 miles I want to know whether I can count on the paddle shifters or if they will fail me again. The engine warning light usually turns off once I get an oil change and reset it has remained on. I don't know if a diagnostic will reveal anything or if I should just get the paddle shifters checked. I use the paddle shifters a great deal while in d mode over the past eight years I have owned the car since I bought it new I am the original owner and only person driving the vehicle.
Rear passenger side door leaks water every time it rains. Safety concerns are mold growth on carpeting, body rust from exposure to water, seats have also gotten wet when folded down into foot area (more mold), windows fog up because of extra humidity in the vehicle (impairing visibility), and could potentially also be causing damage to the electrical system from extra humidity. Have also found water in spare tire well in back of car, but I'm not sure where this entered the car. Asked a Honda dealer about this and they wanted to charge $200 just to diagnose the problem, which seems like a common issue judging by the amount of discussions in online forums.
Vehicle leaks water that accumulates in the spare tire well. Dealer said the fixed it but still leaks. Honda claims unaware of any issues although multiple complaints found on-line.
The first time I noticed a problem was in Feb. 2014 when I entered my vehicle there was frost on the inside of my windshield. Since then I have been having frost or moisture on the inside of my windows when I enter my vehicle in the morning. I have had to vacuum the back floor on both sides after every rain storm. Mould is forming on the carpeting and the back seats. My main concern is my 5 & 7 year old grandkids who I have to transport to and from school. Honda doesn't seem to want to address this problem. There doesn't seam to be a fix for this problem when I have check various web sites. I ran a test this morning by running water from a garden hose over the top of my Honda. I could see water running from the underside of both rear doors into the rear floors.
After it rains, water pools in the spare tire compartment in the hatchback. Does not seem to be breaching the seal around the hatchback. Suspect water is entering through tail light. This occurs with a moderate to heavy rain, or while washing the car.
Water leaks into rear hatch and pools into the spare tire compartment.
On cold mornings (<~50 f) the vehicle starts fine but has a rough idle. When stopping at a stop sign ~1/4 mile from my home the car will lose engine power and sometimes stall (once in the middle of a oncoming traffic). Once the cold engine light goes away (after a few minutes of driving) the stalling/lose of power goes away. There is no check engine light after stalling and the car produces no diagnostic codes.
My 2007 Honda Fit sport (automatic) has had a trunk leak for years. I had noticed wet carpeting behind the passenger side seat but assumed it was from wet shoes after rainfall. It turns out that this is in fact a failure in the window/door seal in the rear passenger side door. The car had begun to develop an odor which, when I checked today, has turned into mold. We can't drive the car at all because of fears of inhaling mold spores. I had checked the Fitfreak. Net website and it seems that this is an extremely common issue among Fit owners. Why has this not been addressed? my car is worthless unless this can be fixed and the mold totally removed. It doesn't matter whether the car is moving or stationary: water will seep in from the frame, wet the carpet, and produce mold.
2007 Honda Fit major issues: door seals do not keep out water which results in extremely saturated wet floor in the driver, rear, trunk and rear passenger area. The problem will eventually rust out the vehicle prematurely and is a liability and unsafe vehicle for long term use. With the wet interior comes mold and mildew that is very harmful to your health and not Fit for children or adults especially with asthma. Honda has not acknowledged this issue.
Rock damage to condenser caused ac failure due to aluminum grade condenser and lack of adequate protection. Aluminum condenser can be crushed by finger force, clearly not designed to hold up to road projectiles, such as pebbles or small rocks impacting at interstate speeds. First repair on vehicle less than 1 year old and under 14k miles. No protection offered to prevent from occurring again. Out $700 to repair condenser. Modifications to protect condenser will void warranty. Multiple complaints on Honda vehicles for exact same issue. No guarantee that this will be the last time, and most likely will not be the last time because the condenser is so flimsy that this is bound to happen again. Not covered under Honda warranty as it's considered road hazard.
