Due to this airbag defectiveness my car got damaged and affected badly.
Takata recall : my 2008 Honda Fit was traveling at 15 mph and went into a police k-9 unit 'elvis'. The air bag virulently exploded on my jaw and caused my teeth to bit my tongue. The policeman mistook the injury for a seizure and I lost my license indefinitely. I was take to the hospital against my will and given 10,000 dollars in services I didn't want or need due to the air bag. Honda and takata and NHTSA need to come clean and protect the public from this dangerous defect.
I received the recall notice in July 2016 from Honda. The letter said they would follow up when they have the parts in late spring or fall. It is December and I have not heard from Honda.
Takata recall. . . When are my airbags going to be replaced? why do I have to drive day after day knowing my airbags can explode and kill me? why isn't something being done for my car model which seems to have no replacement in stock? other car models are being repaired but the Honda Fit 2008 is not so far. I want them replaced.
Takata recall: takata recall. I own a 2008 Honda Fit. I was notified of the NHTSA recall campaign number: 16v344000regarding the passenger airbag problem. I have called several local Honda dealers - no one has the parts! what is Honda waiting for, more deaths? I can't put anyone in my passenger seat. It has been over a year - this is taking too long - it is an unreasonable amount of time to wait for repair of a deadly defect.
Takata recall: we were informed that we were on the recall list in may. I immediately contacted Honda for a loaner, as we are a one-car household. They told me to ride in the backseat, despite the fact that we bought/use this car for hauling large items. Fast forward to almost 3 months later--still no word on where our replacement is, and I'm still riding in the backseat. We've tried calling Honda multiple times--they fill out a customer service ticket and we never hear back. So basically we are unable to use the car in the manner we intended to when we purchased it, and there's no end in sight. I have never been given the run-around like this, and I cannot fathom why we haven't even been called back. I feel tricked and angry. Please help.

I was notified in July 2016 of the air bag recall. I called Honda at the end of July/August to request that the airbag defect be fixed. I was told parts would be in in 2-3 days. That was 3 months ago. I needed to drive with a full call and called Honda corporate to get a rental vehicle so as to not put any passengers in danger. They told me they would turn it around in 2-3 days. It took three weeks ot get a call back - nearly two weeks after my trip was completed. It took three months to get an appointment - Honda never called me to inform me despite having called them to ask about it several times.

Takata recall - I received notice telling me not to let anyone sit in the front passenger seat and that fixes won't be available to late summer or fall. What the hell do I do in the meantime. This is an insanely inadequate fix. I need a car that I won't kill a front seat passenger in the net 5 months. I can't afford to rent a replacement vehicle. What do you suggest?.

Takata recall this car is under recall according to NHTSA's December 2016 third amended coordinated remedy order. The problem is that the recall is not showing up under a VIN search for the car. Honda has confirmed that this VIN is affected by the takata recall, but it cannot send out a recall notice until NHTSA acknowledges the batch of affected vins Honda sent it on or around January 10, 2017. I cannot get a dealership to perform the required repair until Honda sends out the recall notice. That won't happen until NHTSA acknowledges that the VIN, per Honda, is affected by the recall. Honda forwarded all the necessary information to NHTSA weeks ago. This is time-sensitive since my 3 1/2 year old son is quickly approaching the rear-facing weight limit of his car seat. Even though his car seat is correctly installed in the rear seat, I cannot turn his seat around to face forward until I know he (and I) won't be at risk for shrapnel exploding into the passenger compartment. I've been following this recall closely since 2014, and it was not until may/June 2016 that 2008 Honda Fits were added, but not my Honda Fit at that time. Living in coastal connecticut, I am no stranger to heat and humidity cycling and am baffled (and terrified) as to why my state was in the lowest priority geographical area, behind states such as arizona and pennsylvania. Please provide explanations for these delays, and more importantly assistance in getting the necessary repair performed on this vehicle right away. Thank you. Please note that I am filing this complaint pursuant to jennifer timian's instructions in response to my email to her of 2/6/17. Thank you.
The passenger air bag not working even when no one is in the seat. In every position of passenger seat light still on. Srs system is not working properly and Honda wont do anything to fix it or tell me if my car is ok to drive. Can't have anyone in my car for rear if I get hit someone will get really hurt.
My son hit a trailer from behind. Truck decided to back up at same time my son took off. Air bags did not go off. Extensive damage to front of car and frame. Son suffered a stiff neck and achy back. The air bags did not work on two accidents t his car has been in.
Takata recall- airbag exploded with excessive force resulting in tramatic brain injury subdural hematoma surgery seizures and permanent brain cognitive memory organization and executive function issues. Car in motion crossing intersection after light turned green at low speed hit by vehicle failing to yield making left hand turn into Honda Fit.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Fit. The contact stated that during idle at a stop light he was rear ended by another vehicle driving 50 mph; which caused him to rear end another vehicle. The vehicle sustained $9000. 00 worth of damage and none of the air bags deployed. The vehicle has not been inspected to determine the cause of the failure. The current and failure mileages were 11400. Updated 10/06/09. Updated 10/06/09.
My sister and I were sitting in stopped traffic on a California freeway in her 2008 Honda Fit when we were rear ended by another driver at about 50 mph. We both were wearing seatbelts. He struck us directly behind the passenger, and our vehicle then struck the car in front of us and the concrete median barrier to the left. He struck us with sufficient force that our car was a complete loss and we had to be removed from the vehicle with the jaws of life. None of the car's airbags deployed. Though I was wearing a seatbelt and shoulder harness, I struck the dash with my head and was knocked unconscious. The seatbelt did not restrain me. I have seen at least three other similar incidents online that involved a rear end collision with a Honda Fit. Please investigate this dangerous vehicle before someone is killed.
