1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2022

I got a letter from Honda regarding a recall to my vehicle Honda Fit, I headed to crest Honda dealer, they refused to check it, and sent me back. Then while I was heading home they sent me fake report stating that it’s been checked, and everything works fine, and this didn’t happen, because as mentioned they refused to take the car, so how they checked it while I was driving it back home. And the cameras available can prove that I left with the car immediately.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/16/2021

Recall not taken care of.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/28/2020

Shortly after receiving the safety recall notice, in February, I contacted Honda and over the next few weeks, and multiple phone calls, provided them with contact info, receipts and bank statements showing that the left front axle had failed previously and been repaired and paid for by me at a local garage. I heard nothing from Honda for a number of weeks. In the last month (may) I have called twice and emailed Honda once asking for an update on my reimbursement claim but have had no response. Can you suggest what I might do now?.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2018

I am the original and only owner of this 2008 Honda Fit sport. This car has not been in any accidents so the integrity of the structure of the vehicle should be sound. But it is not. I am not sure when the issue began but I have known about it for a few years and didn't realize that so many other 2008 Honda Fit owners have had the same problem. So, I am just now making this complaint. My car, just as many other 2008 Honda Fit sport owners have reported, has a structural deficiency somewhere that allows water into the vehicle in at least two separate entry points. Water pools in the location where the spare tire is located. Not just a little bit, not just a drop or two. . . But a "pool" of water. Secondly, water is getting into the right rear passenger floorboard. The carpet is constantly wet and mushy. My car smells terrible due to sitting water (smells like rusty dank water?) and very likely mold growth. There have been so many complaints about this issue on these cars I cannot believe Honda has not issued a recall. Honda either needs to make these cars structurally sound with a repair or somehow make it right with the owners by way of a monetary equivalent to the depreciation of the vehicle due to this structural issue. How in the world can I sell this car with this problem?.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2015

The lock on the driver side sticks and I can't get my key in and the passenger side the key goes in but won't turn.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2015

2008 Honda Fit base model: floor of back seat and the cargo area behind back seat is wet, and is now growing mold. I have no idea how so much moisture/water is getting into the carpet. I am also concerned that the floors will rust as well. Seriously, Honda step up and issue a recall and fix this issue!! I will be filing a complaint with the ag's office!.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2015

Car had exhibited issues with shifter cable in the past, but no dealership had seen or indicated any issues. Car would not go into park, car then would not go into reverse and finally, when the cable snapped, the car would not leave neutral, making the car completely unusable. Had this occurred whilst driving, it would have been a serious health and safety concern.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/17/2014

My Honda Fit is currently sitting outside my apartment and one day I was stupid and didn't roll up the rear windows. I had about 3 inches of water in the car the next morning. I mopped all of it up and got some damprid from home depot to try and get the stagnant water that I couldn't get to. I've been very vigilant about keeping the windows up since then. I just came back from a weekend away where I left my car and drove my wife's car with her to see my parents for mother's day. I got back into my car today and as usual I check to see if there is water in the back. And with the windows up all weekend the carpets are soaked. This is a tested and real problem that started out as human error and now is a health hazard with mold.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2014

I have a 2008 Honda Fit that is leaking in the back floor boards and trunk.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2014

Bought used 2008 Fit in Jan/2014. Noted water in driver and rear passenger floors/carpet and doors following rain storm. Took wet car to sheehy Ford in mechanicsville (where I purchased it) within the used warranty. Was told they "could not find cause". Nothing done. Since then and to date (10/30/2015), water continues to accumulate in these areas following rainfall. Musty/mold odor - where is the recall on this issue?.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2013

Last year our driver side door lock suddenly stopped working - could not insert the key. There was nothing jammed or stuck inside. Today the same thing happened with the passenger side door luck - we can't insert the key. Now the only door that works is the trunk.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2013

The transponder key wore out prematurely and damaged the driver's side door lock over several months, then the passenger side door lock, then the ignition, the last of which required replacement. Use of the key became troublesome at roughly four and a half years, but at first only in the driver's side door lock. After having new coded keys cut at the dealer the door locks work reasonably well, but the ignition requires twenty to thirty attempts, if it seats at all. The vehicle is not reliable if key is removed from ignition.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2013

Guessing the date but I know it happened around 65k miles when I took it into dealership to get it check. Car kept stalling when I would turn on the engine and also while driving on freeway it kept bucking and refused to accelerate. Anyway, got the engine fixed, however, they couldn't find the reason for the car to die while turning it on. Car is now 94k miles. Every time I turn on the car I have to wait for the engine to warm up so it won't die. . . Now it dies regardless and stalls while I'm driving. Had mechanic friend check it and found nothing. Engine does not make noise, battery is good and electrical is good so idk what's going on. Going to take it into dealership again but feels it's a waste because they probably won't find anything and will make me do costly repairs that won't fix anything. Honda, please find out what's going on. There's obviously enough complaints about this and little action to resolve. I hate the state of panic I get into every time it stalls on me while I'm moving.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/12/2008

When I bought this car I took it on a road test. The tpms light was on. We returned to the dealer and had them check the tire pressure. After I bought the car the light came on as it wished. One time the car was parked for several hours. I left the parking lot and drove a few miles when I heard a strange zinging sound and felt a wiggling feeling in the seat of my pants. I changed lanes to make sure it was not the pavement, it was not. I pulled over to the shoulder of the road and just as I slowed down I saw the yellow tpms light come on. I got out of the car and checked my tires. The first tire I checked was the left rear and I found it was completely flat. I got the spare out on mounted it. I check the air pressure in the spare and it was 60 psi. As I put the flat tire into the back of the car I saw a 4 inch hole in the tread of the tire, with a piece of terra cotta colored chunk of ceramic sticking out of the tread. I got home and I dismounted the tire from the wheel and mounted a new tire on the wheel and installed the wheel on the car. The next time I had the yellow tpms light come on was a year or so later. This time there was no flat tire and I took the car to the dealer to have it checked out. The dealer replace one of the sensors and told me the battery had died. The next time I had a problem with the tpms was a year or so later. I was crossing a 5 mile long bridge and the light came on. No flat tires this time either. I found that when ever I crossed this particular bridge I saw the tpms light come on. Finally the light went out and then after some time the light came back on. No flat tire then either. This system is so faulty that it cannot be relied on. The battery life is 5-12 years, average of 7 years and mine did not last the first year! the replacement sensors are $50. 00 which makes them ridiculously expensive for an item that does not work.
