1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/24/2025

The fuel gauge and mileage display became inoperable. Fuel level could not be determined.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2025

The fuel gauge in the gauge cluster turns on and off unexpectedly and without reason for extended periods of time. The gauge will also do what I like to call hieroglyphic numbers, essentially unreadable lettering clearly due to an electrical malfunction. This is very distracting as a driver and has put me in a very near death experience from the fault. This problem makes it impossible to read the fuel quantity during or before operation of the vehicle. It has been confirmed by dealer that the fault is due to a damaged solder and has been clear that this is a common issue with most Honda Fits.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2024

P219ala code appears; supposed fuel injector issue after trying smaller fixes (maf sensor, air filter) with no luck. Just purchased from local dealer a few weeks ago.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/09/2023

Vtc actuator rattles at cold start. Dealer says may cause problem in the long run. Seems like manufacturing defect that Honda should fix.

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2023

My check engine light came on, but shut off by the time I was able to see a repair shop. I needed a smog, but they decided to check my car first to see why the light came on and went away. It had to do with the fuel injector/catalytic converter. He wanted me to drive it a bit and come back to see if it would go away. It did not, even though my lights remained off and the car was operating fine. Had I not needed the smog check, I would have canceled the appointment and not known. After doing research, it is common for fuel injectors on my car to fail due to a faulty part. Honda issued an extended warranty, but even after calling for more information, they were unhelpful. I ended up paying $3,000 to resolve this. My car is a 2015 and just hit 85k miles. Honda should be informing owners of this issue.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2023

Before I parked, all was fine and the car felt safe, two hours later, I start the car and it has four warning lights on. Now I don't have hill start assist and the car feels like it might 'go out' on me, I think something will keep it from running soon. About two weeks prior, even with keys in the car and with a full battery in both the keys and car, the car doesn't start with the first push of the 'engine start' button (maybe there is a connection here). O'reilly helped me check the codes, and it states that I should replace the ignition coil, as well as the throttle body and it is giving the code, p0303: cylinder 3 misfire detected. After some research online, it seems like the fuel injectors might need to be replaced as the ones that come with Honda tend to malfunction. . Read more...

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2022

Car loses power when accelerating below 20 mph. Engine still on but when stepping on gas pedal no acceleration. Pedal is firm but no gas. Looks like iam pushing air. I have to lift my foot off and accelerate again in order to keep the car going. Veryscary and dangerous when changing lanes. Also, another issue. . . Paint comming off on a lot of locations. Cotacted the local dealer and since I was not the original owner they wont fix it. Very dispoinnted with Honda loast car to buy as Honda. Poor customer service.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/09/2022

Fuel gauge display is blinking after that few times then it goes completely blank.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2021

My 2015 Honda Fit out of nowhere won't start and is flashing an electrical system issue. A few weeks before this the electrical system stopped showing how much gas was in the car, how many miles etc. That whole electrical system looked really garbled then goes dark. My car wont start. And even after I fix it I cant drive around not knowing how much gas is in the car.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/20/2021

Fuel injector issue.

11 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/27/2020

Four warning lights came on while driving. I could hear and feel a cylinder misfire. Dealer service diagnosed fuel injector failure and replaced the injectors and related parts. Car driven only 50k miles and well maintained.

12 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

I was driving 75mph on the highway, under cruise control. I accelerated to pass a truck. The engine hesitated. A tire pressure monitoring system, vehichle stabbilty assist, electrical power steering and a flashing check engine light, came on. The car began slowing against my inputs to 45mph (limp mode) on a busy highway many miles from anywhere. I was able to reset the code by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it. This got me a few more miles, the it (limp mode) happened again. I disconnect/reconnect battery once more and this gets me 35 more miles and to the nearest town. Taking it to a shop, they identify the issue as the fuel injectors by researching online. It turns out this is fairly common on this year (2015) of Honda Fit, and still seems to persist despite a redesign of the injectors from Honda. The repair was horribly expensive ($1,000 for parts from Honda), both for a cheap and cheerful car, as well as what appears to be very ordinary solenoid fuel injectors. I'm very surprised that this know issue by Honda hasn't spawned a recall, but either way, I'm very disappointed in this car.

13 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2020

My check engine light has been coming on a lot recently. Took it to a dealer in lacrosse WI. Today to have it checked and they said that all the fuel injectors need replaced. I asked if it could still safely be driven. They said that it could become disabled, stranding me wherever it happens. I don't feel safe driving the car after what I was told by the dealer today. I have done some researcing of the faulty injector problem and it seems to be an issue that Honda has known about for a long time and their only solution is over a $1700 replacement cost.

14 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2020

Attempt to start car, will not start - has new battery, new plugs, gas; it's a manual - check engine light has been on for about 6 months - intermittent starting problems. Today - tried to start, nothing. Has been diagnosed with engine light - p 105 - 1st fuel injector not functioning properly, running lean. Disgusting - first Honda in 4 that I have owned that is broken. This is way beyond simple wear and tear. 5 year old car should start - every time.

15 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2020

My 2015 Honda Fit lx with only 22,000 miles has 4 system lights all came on at once tpms, check engine, electric power steering (eps), vehicle stability assist (vsa). The mechanic recommended that all 4 fuel injectors along with fuel pipes will need to be replaced after ruling out ignition coils and spark plugs as potential issues. He stated that there are known issues with direct fuel injectors with Honda of this model year. A search on the internet and NHTSA website confirmed this is known issue of this model year Honda as reported by many Honda owners with similar problems. The estimate cost to replace all fuel injectors is $1700-2000. This is a known defective design by Honda but they will not recall or cover the repair.

16 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2020

Driving Honda Fit with approximately 65,000 miles. No prior issues with regular maintenance being done on it. All dashboard warning lights (check engine, tps, traction control sensor and steering wheel with exclamation mark) went on in the vehicle while driving on a city street to work. Vehicle did not operate well and did not feel safe drive. Took to local Honda mechanic and was diagnosed with a p0420 cylinder misfire code. Was told this was a known issue with this model of Hondas and have found multiple reports online as such. Was told my engine could be damaged and it is unsafe to drive. Called Honda dealership and was told them would not cover it and was out of warranty.

17 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/18/2019

P0303 misfire cylinder 4; checked live data, all cylinders misfiring. Recommended to replace all fuel injectors and fuel pipe due to "known issues with direct fuel injectors" as stated by Honda dealership. Car idles roughly. Car lost power while accelerating to highway speeds, causing stall on highway. Additional engine codes indicate fuel problems - p2906 and p0172. Replacement of damaged ignition coils and sparks plugs also required.

18 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2019

My 2015 Honda Fit ex started experiencing technical issues at 25k miles. My alternator was replaced and now at 45k miles I need the fuel injectors replaced. The Honda dealership is asking for $2300 to fix it. Non-powertrain warranty has expired.

19 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2019

I had all emergency lights come on while driving my properly maintained 2015 Honda Fit which currently had 26,000 miles. I immediately took the car to the nearest Honda dealership and was told there was a code p0301 misfire on cylinder 1. I was told that all fuel injectors and joint pipe would need to be replaced. I was also told I needed to upgade the pgm-f! software as well as adjust engine valves. Despite the powertrain warranty still being in effect, I was told this would not be a warranty covered service.

20 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2019

A couple of days ago I went to turn my car on, while stationary the dashboard lights lit up out of nowhere. The tpms sensor began flashing, the check engine light came on, along with the eps & vsa lights. The car just got to 68k miles. I went to get my car scanned and the result was a misfire on cylinder 4. After doing more research, I found that many other cars (of this exact model) had this same issue & have been recalled, but mine hasnt. I'm worried it may become a bigger issue to my safety.

21 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2019

2 huge issues when I bought my car. I bought it used with 45k miles on it and by 60,000 miles I needed the entire fuel rail replaced due to lurching on the highway and roads. Honda paid for it after a lengthy argument between dealerships. Now, a year later, I am continually having problems with the no-ignition keys. When I first got the car, it told me "low key battery", "no key" or just wouldnt register them. I replaced both the car battery and the key batteries. The dealership told me it was an issue with the pcm module. They said they fixed it and less than a . Month later the same problem was happening. Now they are telling me it may just be the batteries in the keys. Today I could not start my car. Even with the key in the car, and even pushing it right up to the ignition button which usually works.

22 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2019

Our 2015 Honda Fit, with only 56,000 miles on it, suddenly stalled right as I tried to accelerate after being stopped at an intersection. I tried restarting the engine multiple times, but after turning over and running for maybe 1 second, the engine would quickly shut off and was completely inoperable. This is an extremely dangerous problem, stalling us in the middle of a busy 8-lane avenue and the car had to be pushed up a hill and off to a side road as there was no shoulder. With my spouse and four month old daughter in the car, it put my family in a great deal of danger. The dealer finally cited a faulty fuel pressure sensor inside the fuel rail. With so many others reporting failures with either the fuel injectors or fuel rail, this is obviously a faulty part(s) and will hopefully be resolved by Honda. I could see this happening if the car were 10 years old or more, but on a car with only 55,000 miles and four years old? that defeated the whole purpose of buying a supposedly reliable car from Honda.

23 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2019

I could've died!! driving down the interstate all of sudden all the warning lights flashed & my car wouldn't go. Was told it was catalytic converter & fuel injectors needed to be replaced. $2900. Had them replaced & same day I got my car back no check engine came on, was driving down the interstate & just stopped going. I couldn't give it gas & the rpms revved up, cars flying past me trying to make it to the shoulder! it was terrifying!!! read there have been a lot of issues with the fuel injectors, but Honda making customers pay for it. I bought the Fit so I could have a reliable commute & now I don't feel safe at all.

24 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2019

Car stalls when warmed up. Then will not start until the engine cools down. This Fit was made in 8/14 and I believe it should have been included in recall number 15v559. Car hesitated as we tried to enter at a yield with a car approaching causing a serious safety issue for us. Dealer said it was all 4 bad fuel injectors, but that doesn't seem to match the symptoms. I suspect the coils are at fault once they heat up and fail.

25 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/07/2019

Car had a little over 48,000 miles on it. Check engine light came on. Took it to dealership, they said the fuel injectors all needed to be replaced. The vehicle is under a service bulletin on faulty fuel injectors for all VIN's of the Honda Fit 2015, and the ntsb number for that a16-034. But the dealership said there was nothing they could do to help cover the costs. Looking at $1800 in repairs for an issues that shouldn't be happening this early in the life of the car. Unbelievable.

26 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Honda Fit. While driving approximately 20 mph, the tire pressure monitoring system, electric power steering, check engine, and stability control indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to lujack Honda (3707 n harrison st, davenport, IA 52806) where it was diagnosed that the fuel injectors failed and needed to be changed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 09535823. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 32,161.

27 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/08/2019

In colder weather, gas gauge does not work. When car warms up comes back on. However, could take up to ten minutes. When driving, could run out of gas without knowing.

28 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2018

Vehicle has 48,000 miles. Check engine light came on, took it into dealership for diagnosis. All four fuel injectors needed to be replaced due to gumming (not due to quality of fuel). The vehicle received a safety recall servicing in 2016 that could affect the fuel injectors, but no issues were recorded by the dealership. The vehicle is under a service bulletin on faulty fuel injectors for all VIN's of the Honda Fit 2015, and the ntsb number for that a16-034. Both service techs and customer service at Honda found the issue to be abnormal especially because the issue effected all four injectors, not just one.

29 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2018

Yesterday (9/14/18) while driving home from work four of the malfunction lights came on. I was on city streets in sarasota, FL. The lights were tpms, emissions, power steering and traction. The attached photo was taken when I arrived home. I made an appointment with the dealer I purchased the vehicle from, venice Honda, for this morning 9/15/18. They informed me the fuel injectors needed to be replaced at a cost of $1400. The estimate is attached. I balked at the cost of the repair after they informed me this issue is known by Honda and the dealer would not provide me with any financial assistance. I found that Honda has known about this problem for about two (2) years but did not issue a recall. This is a safety issue because it happens without warning and the vehicle could stall resulting in an accident. I filed a complaint with Honda and would like them to reimburse me for at least 50% of the cost of the repair.

30 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2018

My vehicle began running roughly and all the dash lights came on. I was told there is a misfire in one of the cylinders and this could be an extremely expensive repair. My vehicle has 48000 miles on it and this shouldn't happen. From doing some online research, this seems to be a recurring complaint by several people.

31 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2018

After only 48,000 miles I had to replace the fuel injector set, part # 16010-5r1-315 and the fuel pipe set, part # 16012-5r1-315 for a total cost (including labor) of $1,760. 00. . Dealer found check engine code p0171 - fuel system too lean. The check engine code appeared when the vehicle was stationary and in motion.

32 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2017

Car is stumbling on acceleration and riding ruff. Dealer states all injectors need to be replaced with a new style injector (part number 16010-5r1-315). One injector going bad I can understand but all 4 injector in 50,000 miles and replaced with a new style injector, this is a defect.

33 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2016

While parking the car in the parking space, it suddenly self-accelerated, jumped the curb, and crashed into the wall in front of the car resulting in injuries to both the driver (2 fractured neck vertebrae, 3 fractured ribs on right side, and broken left foot) and passenger (laceration to right hand and bruised ribs on left side). The acceleration was too fast for either the driver or passenger to respond. Airbags did not deploy, and the car was considered a total loss due to the extensive damage to the front end.

34 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2016

Unintended and sudden acceleration. November 2015 the car was making a right hand turn into a parking space, while pressing the brake the car suddenly accelerated the brakes did not work, the car traveled about 70 feet before stopping. Took it to tom wood Honda all they checked was the brakes and said it was fine. Update: February 2016 making a right hand turn into a parking space at a panera bread gently tapped the brakes the car accelerated and went thru the door at panera bread. Tom wood Honda checked the brakes says its fine and released it to the collision center. I am making lease payments on this car but when it's repaired it is staying at the lot. It accelerates on it's own and is going to kill someone. I cannot allow anyone in my family to drive it. I also cannot afford insurance wise to drive a car I know accelerates when it decides to.
