Assist Problems of Honda FIT

Multipurpose camera stopped working in normal conditions. Dealership says the camera is faulty. Several safety functions such as lane keep assist, collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control no longer work.

Component/system involved: the multi-purpose camera system on my 2018 Honda Fit has malfunctioned, disabling critical safety features such as adaptive cruise control (acc), lane keep assist system (lkas), and collision braking warning system (cbws). Safety risk: the failure of these systems creates significant safety risks. Without acc, the vehicle cannot maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. The lkas no longer provides steering assistance to help stay in the lane, and the cbws cannot detect or warn of potential collisions. These malfunctions increase the likelihood of accidents, especially during highway driving or in heavy traffic. Problem reproduction and confirmation: the issue has been reproduced and confirmed by norm reeves Honda cerritos during an inspection on 8/13/25. Inspection details: the vehicle has been inspected by a dealer/service center, which diagnosed the problem. However, the manufacturer has not offered a resolution, nor has the vehicle been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or other parties. Warning indicators: before the failure, warning messages appeared on the dashboard, including alerts for acc, lkas, and cbws system malfunctions. These warnings initially appeared on 8/12/25 and became more frequent over time. I believe this issue may be a design or manufacturing defect affecting other vehicles of the same make and model. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter to determine if it represents a broader safety concern.

However, the manufacturer has not offered a resolution, and the vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or other parties. Despite the low mileage and the importance of this system, I was informed that I must pay the full repair cost of $3,000 and other companies I visited stated that it can only be fixed by Honda. Multiple warning light up on dash and loud beeping upon start up. No way to remove warnings which distract. Multiple safety features disabled 95% of time and the randomly work fine 5% of the time. Not related to any obvious damage or incident. Got in car one day to find several warnings and loud beeps. Acc, lkas, road diparture mitigation, collision mitigation, and auto high beams all out. Warning light for each, plus a brake system light.

This vehicle has not been inspected by dealership, nor insurance. Suddenly all warning lamps(lkap, rdmp, cmsp, abp with the break system) went on. Im just affraid of an accident that could be caused by the failure of the systems. Lamps have been on for at least 4 months. It also had a recall for the fuel system, it was supposed to been taken care at a dealership but now the engine lamp is on as well with fuel emissions system. Yes, this vehicle is available to be inspected at any time. Im just don't feel safe driving it.

Connected my cellphone and think a hacker is affecting auto systems: alternator not consistently charging (new battery & alternator checked good), lane assist turns off in curves & when wipers on, navigation system frozen on test screen (tried resetting pressing three buttons aslearned on youtube), display of % to next oil change frozen at 70%. Hoping there software upgrades.
