Honda FIT owners have reported 3 problems related to clutch pedal/linkage (under the power train category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Honda FIT based on all problems reported for the FIT.
New 2016 Fit with approx 5500 miles started developing an audiable ticking/clicking noise when releasing the clutch pedal going into 1st gear from a stationary position. Much more pronounce when on an incline and has progressively worsen since approx 3500 miles. No vibrations transmitted through the pedal assembly noted. Did not have this noise when the car was new. Dealer removed transmission, replaced clutch assembly and throwout bearing and returned car under warranty. Clicking noise persist. Brought back to dealer a second time , shop foreman spoke to Honda techline and concluded audiable clicking/ ticking during clutch release is a characteristic of the new 6 speed transmission/gearbox, & documented all is normal. Been driving manual vehicles for over 20 years with all transmission/clutch components lasting 80-90k miles before first service/ component replacement. This including a cable actuated clutch that was quieter than this. Never encountering this before. Guess time will tell if it is a design or assembly flaw, or infact a " normal characteristics" of this new 6 speed manual gear box. Atleast all is documented in Honda database.

2008 Honda Fit sport, 5-speed manual transmission. Transmission began binding (resistance, audible click from shift linkage) shifting into 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear at approx 60k miles (just prior to 2nd fluid change). Initially resolved problem. Reoccurring at 80k miles. Transmission fluid changed, clutch fluid changed/bled (no change), clutch height and engagement adjusted (slight improvement), and still not fully resolved. At this point it is likely a prematurely worn clutch, syncromesh issue, or possibly shift linkage. Best guess is a little of both. Fitfreak. Net is full of similar transmission issues and Honda does not have a reputation for building reliable transmissions. I wish Honda would address their engineering deficiencies in this area or at least provide out of warranty coverage to owners. Will follow up with dealer, but expecting no cooperation. Maintenance background: professional a&p mechanic, all services performed according to Honda's schedule, only genuine Honda fluids used. Vehicle is completely original except for front brake rotors/pads. No accidents, no other problems with car.

I am the owner of model year 2007 Honda Fit. This year, when the car reached around 76,000 miles the clutch began to fail to fully disengage with the pedal fully depressed. Eventually the problem was isolated to the mechanical clutch assembly (as opposed to the hydraulic system). After disassembly it was discovered that all of the “diaphragm springs” on the clutch pressure plate were bent, some more severely than others. My technician noted that he had never seen this sort of thing happen before. In order for the pressure plate diaphragm springs to have bent, one of two things must have occurred: 1. The diaphragm springs were damaged during assembly. If this is the case, then the damage would have been apparent when the car was new, not some 76,000 miles later. Identification numbers on the clutch (m41l 11 23/50) should prove that this clutch was the original and had not been replaced. 2. The diaphragm springs of the clutch lost their spring tension. This to me seems to be the only plausible explanation. This could be due to defects in the steel itself or improper heat-treating. I believe that a series of brinell hardness tests at various depths would prove that the clutch diaphragm springs are too soft and that this condition that ultimately caused the clutch to fail.
