Unknown Or Other problem #1

Noticed damp/wet carpet under rubber floor mats on Nov 15th 2011, noted a moldy smell. Cleaned car dried out carpet. Noticed rear carpet very wet after rainy period Dec 21 2011. Pulled up carpet, water all over top hump were seat brackets attach to car frame, carpet was soaked all way to front seats. I feel this may be a structural issue and safety issue. Over on miles for warranty to cover. Schedule with local dealership.

Unknown Or Other problem #2

2010 Honda Fit base while idling or in park I push the driver side power door lock master switchforward to "on" position. Intermittently there is a a high pitch screeching sound. Dealer stated the whole switch needs to be replaced and that it is electrical switch issue with intermittent short. This will be done under warranty. An online search shows that Honda corp in tokyo (September 2011) has issued a recall of 963,000 Honda Fit and cr-v worldwide (including u. S. ) for this same problem. However the dealer said my VIN is not under recall. . . Hmmm?.

24k miles tires worn out and the cost 175. 00 each this is a consumer rip off.

Unknown Or Other problem #4

We've experienced several episodes in which the rear passenger side floor is holding an impressive amount of water after it has rained. Windows have not been left open. We have dried up the area only to find another puddle of standing water in the floor space again and again. There are no tell-tale signs of leakage on the upholstery or ceiling material but there is starting to be a mold smell because we cannot keep the water out! this is starting to ruin the flooring carpet material as well as the overall condition of the inside of our well-kept family car. We're very concerned because this could ruin the car; I've read many other complaints of exactly the same situation/conditions and I have yet to read what Honda has for an answer/solution. I live in a rain-heavy area - on an island - with no Honda dealership.

Unknown Or Other problem #5

My Honda Fit repeatedly stalls from cold engine starts. This has been happening regularly and randomly for the last several months. It will stall both when at a stop (such as at a stop light or sign) and at slow speed, such as when pulling out of a drive or backing up. This stops happening once the engine warms up. I have taken the vehicle to two mechanics, neither of whom has been able to find the problem. I would have thought this to be a problem with just my vehicle and not bothered to report the problem to safecar. Gov, except that when I do an internet search about my problem, I find that many, many other owners of 2008 Fits are having the same problem. There is also a "stall" issue recall for 2009-2010 Fits. Thank you.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

I have a 2010 Honda Fit sport automatic, purchased new. While driving about 5 mph (I. E. , going down a spiral ramp, parking my car inside the garage in my home and being in extremely slow stop-and-go traffic) my right foot is on and off the brake. I do not use my left foot at all in driving. Four times in the past year (from July 2010 to June 2011) during such situations the engine suddenly accelerated and the needle on the rpm dial went to 4,000-5,000. I had to step hard with my right foot on the brake to keep the car from lurching forward. The last time it happened on June 5, 2011 in the middle of extremely slow stop-and-go traffic. I had to put both feet on the brake and quickly shifted into neutral to avoid hitting the car in front of me. This time my wife was in the car with me and witnessed this most scary and dangerous incident. I explained all of this to the mechanics at my local Honda dealer when I brought my car in for service on 6/21/11. However, they were not able to recreate a sudden acceleration situation and could not find anything wrong with my car. My online searches indicate that there have been reports of similar situations with prior-year models of the Honda sport. I am certain there is an undiscovered problem with my car, and possibly others, which requires investigation by the NHTSA.

Unknown Or Other problem #7

Honda Fit 2008 brakes failure to stop during braking. Noise during braking grinding / loosening of brake pads when braking. Went to Honda for brake inspection per my non-Honda mechanic, to replace calipers. Honda technician says there is nothing wrong, that I just needed new brake pads. First time replacing them since I bought the car. Mileage was at 38,386. Paid for new pads. Date was Dec. 29, 2011. Today first oil change and brake check since pads were change, wearing of pads are still uneven and brake noises still prevalent, even at from 20 mile per hour braking to stop.

Unknown Or Other problem #8

The carpeting is falling apart after just over 5,000 miles near the driver's feet. I don't know if this is considered a safety issue, but I googled "Honda Fit carpeting" and found a site where several people have found this problem. I believe a foot could get caught up in this carpeting shreds.

Unknown Or Other problem #9

Finding water buildup in the front drive floorboards of my 2007 Honda Fit. Generally this happens after rainstorms with significant downpour and I didnt notice this because lately weather's been pretty good. Now I'm finding the wet spot with mold to go along with it as well underneath the foam piece underneath the carpet. Others have helped me trace it to my door seals and there is much mold growth underneath, so even before I discovered this it must have happened before but in lesser degree. I feel as this should not be a warranty only fix by Honda and that the door seals and carpets should be replaced as a result. Growth of mold in a car which you're driving in everyday can be hazardous to anyone's health.

Unknown Or Other problem #10

I bought a brand new 2009 Honda Fit, heard noice from motor, right after I received a letter stating this car had a recall (springs) in the motor, took the car to dealer, they replaced the springs, car still had noice, took it back & following day said they had to re-adjust the valves, picked up the car the next day & still noice, dealer refused to take cr back, car make noice from the vavles in the motor, these deffective springs caused damaged to my brand new vehicle. . I don't feel safe driving this car, I fear for other's safety & my family's safety. . . I am requesting from Honda that they refund the money I paid for this deffective car & take the car, the car doesn't respond well when I accelerate it. . . I don't know what to do. . Please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Unknown Or Other problem #11

While driving 2011 Honda Fit in the highway a small pebble hit lower driver side of front windshield causing the windshield to crack (crack is about 20 inches long). Windshield may be too thin or defective, because under regular circumstances the windshield wouldn't crack (small pebbles usually chip the windshield), I did an internet search to find out if there were any public concerns about this issue for this particular make and model (Honda Fit) and I found out that many people are having the same problem. This type of issue could potentially be a safety hazard while driving, particularly if the object hitting the windshield is bigger than a pebble; causing the windshield to crack, therefore reducing visibility to the driver.

Unknown Or Other problem #12

In December after a heavy rain, the drive side door lock became inoperable - the key could not be inserted. I took it to my Honda dealer who charged me $220 to re-key the lock. On January 18, 2011 we had another heavy rain and the same thing occurred. I will be taking it back to the Honda dealer to have it repaired. I will demand that this repair be free of charge. I am concerned that there is a design flaw in the locks that lets water into the lock and ruins it during a heavy rain.

Unknown Or Other problem #13

With headlights on and heater blower running the headlights dim significantly and the blower motor reduces its velocity, as if an electrical failure is about to occur. Dealer said nothing is wrong.

Unknown Or Other problem #14

After coming to a stop, when start to accelerate, vehicle stalls. Then has hard time starting back up. Has caused several close calls with almost being t-boned as the car stalled after trying to complete a left hand turn from a complete stop.

Unknown Or Other problem #15

I have a 2007 Honda Fit which has been leaking water in the passenger back floor area for over a year now. It began over a year ago and was sent to the dealership numerous times. It was accumulatiing over a 6 inches of rain and became moldy and smelled horrible. I explained my concerns to the delearship regarding the leak and mold health hazards. Especially having my newborn in the car with me. They could not figure out the problem after repeated attempted to take the car apart. . The last time it was there was in April 2010 and they allegedly fixed the problem. We have not had a huge amount of rain since then (except for alot of snot). The other day after a huge rain storm I noticed a distinct mildew smell. Once again the floor underneath my all weather mats was completely soaked. (directly under my 15 mo old's carseat. ) I have taken it back to the dealership for an unrelated recall and they said they don't know what the issue could be. I am at my wits end and cannot expose my child to this moldy health hazard any longer. I am looking into my rights as a consumer and would appreciate any assistance in this matter.
