Wheel Problems of Honda FIT

Purchased car on March 4, 2025. Noticed tmps dashboard light was on, returned 3/5/2025, Ford replaced tire senor, light was still on, they replaced 4 tire senors. But did not replace all untill 4/19/2024, that is when I noticed a bubble and crack on tire and a broken sway bar link. Also they did not inspect my car within 7 days, they inspected it on 3/14/2025. No rejection sticker put on, so I was driving the car Honda without any sticker until they replaced another senor. Told me the tmps light would go off after I drove the car around. 24 Ford of south easton of easton, MA sold me a 2010 Honda Fit that has a driveshaft recall for corrosion. Also, faulty tire senors, replaced but dashboard tmps light is still on, lied about giving me a new tire, tire has bubbles on it and they put tire on rim facing in toward car wheel hub so it won't be visible, I noticed this and a broken sway bar link. Ford let me drive an unsafe car off the lot. They didn't offer to fix it, I went to axp auto , paid $183. 00 to fix the sway bar link, then to a tire shop to get a new tire . I went to Honda dealership and they replaced the driveshaft and gave me a $2000. 00 estimate of safety repairs that need to be fixed. Six weeks after I brought car, transmission engine light is constantly on. . . Many other thing wrong. Axle shaft r&r, front pads and rotor, 4 tires, dirty air filter, old oil filter black oil. Now transmission pressure senor needs replacement. List is long. Axp auto also gave me a $2,000. 00 quote on repairs, transmission fluid pressure switch gasket, etc. Steering tie rods, replace brakes. This Honda Fit is a deathtrap and I am scared to drive it. 24 Ford should have replaced driveshaft before I purchased car. They swindled me on the sales contact as I didn't know they charged me $6200. 00 in warranty, I was able to cancel one warranty total of $2000. 00, as t didn't cover brakes and other repairs, such as powertrain. Offered no gap to me. 24 Ford is bad.

On [xxx], I down payment for the purchase of a 2010 Honda Fit, for $6,258. 00 with 24 Ford of easton, 703 washington st. , south easton, MA 02375. License motor dealer , on [xxx], the tmps dashboard light was on. . . Ford replaced them, but as presently ([xxx]) light is still on, they told me tmps would go off after I drove car around. April 19, 2025, last tmps sensor was put on a 4th tire, I was in the car repair area and noticed a broken sway bar link and a bubble & cracks on tire, Ford noticed it but did not offer to fix it and let me drive off dealership lot with broken sway bar and bad tire. It was negligent, and unsafe to drive. 30 day lemon law ended on [xxx]. Also, there was a recall for a driveshaft, which I found out via the internet. On may 13, 2025 I went to a Honda dealership and they replaced the driveshaft. I went to axp repair shop to get sway bar link fixed, and a new tire, which cost me $250. 00. 24 Ford did not inspect my car until March 14, 2025 after they replaced the last tire sensor. Since the tmps light was on they didn't even put a reject inspection on my car window and let me drive it without any sticker. They put my life and others at risk of a fatal accident, negligent in letting me drive off their Ford dealership lot with a broken sway bar link and bubble/cracks on tire. Everything is very rusty under the car carriage. I do not feel safe driving car. I call it a deathtrap. Also per carfax it was parked someplace for a year 01/01/2024 - 01/01/2025. 24 Ford out it up for sale 01/2025. They didn't do any routine oil change, dirty air filters. Axp and Honda told me I need $2,000. 00 - $4,000. 00 worth of repairs to make car safe. Ford brought it at an auction. I was really scammed by the deceptive practices and lies. 7/14/24 this scenario has happened previously. The first time the engine light, steering light, tire light have come on and remained on. Driving around 65 mph the car judders, loses power, & engine light flashes. Thankfully, there was a shoulder to pull over onto because the ability to maintain speed is lost. Also, the highway I was on has extremely busy portions without any shoulder, so the situation could have been much worse. With traffic all around, I have to put on hazard lights and pull over onto a shoulder filled with tons of debris, which I then got a flat tire, which I then I had to change in the side of the highway. The immediate loss of power and subsequent events is extremely dangerous. The vehicle is well maintained. When taken for diagnosis shops have referred me to the dealer. I’ve called Honda America customer service and am also referred to the dealer. Dealerships are extremely difficult, expensive, & unreliable. Through research I’ve found fuel injector and carbon buildup issues that may be the cause, which of course can cause damage of the engine and catalytic converter. The cost of these repairs is very high. Therefore, I am unable to use a basic economical vehicle I purchased out of necessity, which I can barely afford already, and has now become much more expensive due to major repairs that are needed but incomplete due to lack of funds. If I try to drive it I become a potential hazard on the road. This seems like a manufacturing defect if it is an injector issue. If it is carbon buildup on the intake valves it requires an expensive service not disclosed at purchase in the owners manual, which seems dishonest and deceptive. The private shops I’ve been to have diagnosed the issue as faulty fuel injectors, catalytic converter, or unsure. Honda says go to the dealership, yet without any assistance from Honda they will require a diagnostic fee of around $200 and will require expensive out-of-pocket repairs of a likely Honda defect.

Hello, I received a recall notice from Honda company on driveshaft corrosion. I did follow up with it at a Honda certified service , napleton , loves park IL. Their answer was that my car doesn’t need any axles replacement. My problem is that the axels in my car are fully rusted, corrosive and this was noticed by another mechanic. I called the napleton service to check again but they refused. I called the Honda company customer service and they said that there is nothing they can do. I can drive my car the way it is, no incident happen so far but I don’t feel safe. Thank you.

I just exited a highway, stopped at a traffic light on the intesection. When I tried to turn right I heard a noise like the car hit something. But there was nothing for the car to hit upon turning on right. The car started rolling back until I used the handbrake and turned engine off. When I looked under the car, there was nothing obviously adrift. Towing service came and confirmed that the front passenger side axel shaft is broken. The car was towed to the shop where the technician removed the broken axel shaft and showed it to me - the axel shaft rusted inside the rubber boot. Anyway, two cops helped me get the car out of the intersection and into a driveway, and I called a local shop that I deal with when I can't do the work myself, and had it towed there. They called me later that day to say that the right half shaft had snapped inside the damper, and that was the reason for no go and nothing adrift. They asked if I wanted to replace both half shafts, and I said hell yes, taking no chances on a repeat. A week later and $700 bucks lighter, I had the car back. The shop owner and the lead mechanic both said that they had heard of this issue, but my '07 Fit was the first one that they had seen. They also opined that this should be a recall issue.

We installed from firestone in biloxi 4 new bridgestone ecopia ep422 plus bl 175/65r15 dot# v6twec 84h 70,000 mile limited warranty tires on our 2013 Honda Fit November 30th 2016 at 38,715 miles. In December 27th 2019 with 70, 830 mileage, we took it to the firestone dealer in gulfport as the tpms light was on and learned that the left front was low 10 pounds. The next morning the light was on again so back to the dealer to learn that the inside facing of the tire, near and parallel to the rim, had a 4" long rotted section that you could almost put your fingers through. We were advised that a new tire was in order. In further inspection of this tire after it was off the rim, one could see the numerous cracks that had developed about an inch away from the rim. Now we are wondering if the rest of the tires are in jeopardy of failure. The date stamp on this tire was 4915 (end of November 2015).

I have had 2 flat tires in the past month all showing a significant gouging tear on the inner facing side of each tire. The first one was replaced by aaa as a defective tire, but after the 2nd flat, my aaa repair guy mentioned it could likely be a manufacturing defect with some part of the car or axle scraping against the inner side of the tire. The first one was my front right and the current flat tire I'm dealing with is the rear left tire. There's nothing obviously visible as the cause of what could be scraping against the wheels. As the picture below shows, the scrape is in a clear circular line which seems to indicate a stationary part on the car scraping or cutting into the inner side of the wheel. When flat tire was discovered car was stationary. First indicator of a problem was the tire pressure gauge light before I noticed a flat. When I came back to my parked car the rear left tire was fully flat and non-drivable. Car was parked on a city street.

Pertaining to the tire pressure monitoring system (tpms) it is my understanding that if a tpms sensor is removed from the car, the car is supposed to alert the driver via a warning light. My 2016 Honda Fit had all four tires and rims replaced that didn't have tpms sensors installed and no indicator has illuminated in the vehicle. (it's been almost two months since the sensors were removed).

4 warning ligghts glowed. Saftey breaking,steering, tires, engine lights. Aug. 21,2018 took to Honda dealer. Found misfire cylinder #1. Replacement of cylinder was done replaced ignition coils. Car was fine. On oct 28,2018 again same lights came on again ! found online there was a saftye recall done for this issue. But my car had no recalls. Please help. This is expensive and frighteing.

Takata recall, orignal tires come filled with nitrogen on Honda Fit leaking air due to defective tires Honda was stationary when all air leaked out. Regular air was put in all tires and checked by mechanics no nails, slashes or any punctures. Vehicle looses all air when stationed.

After two flats that essentially destroyed the tires. Unable to replace tires on car that we brought new because they are on longer made by firestone. Abnormal wear noted on tires after only 24,000 miles.

At 1700 thousand miles rotors need resurfacing. Starter needed to be replaced. Transmission was replaced. All under warranted.

I bought this brand new $17k car in August. I have replaced seven tires. All diff wheels. All different continental tires 185/60 15. . Breakdowns on my commute home after midnight. Finally my 7th breakdown was broadcast as I was trying to cross the george washington bridge at 1 am on valentines day and with Honda roadside assistance and my insurance CO roadside assistance, no one came to my aid. I was blockintg traffic, as I tried myself to change the tire after two hours of fear that my car or I would be hit by a tractor trailor, and that would be the end of me. The electrical problem, all lights on dashboard on began after the second tire malfunction, and cannot be reset. I need to go to dealer and rent a car for them to figure this all out. Meanwhile, my gas mileage has major issues. I refuel ever other day. Same commute for 6 years. When I drove my Mini cooper, I filled up once a week. But three or four times a week? something is wrong with my car at 10,000 miles. It feels like a clunker. I am going to get rid of it. Look into my states lemon law and rid myself of this hunk of junk. I am also writing to Honda. But this tire issue has cost me over $1500 dollars in six months and time/safety issues. One buys a new car for freedom from problems. This is unacceptable customer service at the dealership, (especially since they knew of this "tire" issue.

The tire pressure warning light comes on periodically, about every 500 miles or so. I've had the pressure checked by professionals in each tire and on one occasion it was 1 unit less than it had been before, but not below the level that it should have come on for. After refilling, the problem soon repeats in a similar duration.

2 tire sidewall failures,while driving at 75 mph ,resulting in rapid deflation. Failures occurred about 5,000 miles apart with goodyear assurance fuel max tires. Size 195-55-r16.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda Fit. The contact stated that the tire pressure monitoring system warning indicator illuminated. The dealer checked the air pressure, changed, and rotated the tires, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,059.

At 29,000 had to replace tires, sidewall cracking and one tire had a bubble. Asked Honda about promised warranty and they said there was no warranty, contact tire dealer but tires were a special purchase by Honda. Tpms damaged by wartart when mounting new tires, fixed & reset by Honda . Had Honda do a front end alignment they state left wheel "frozen" -"unfixable" I did hit brakes very had about 6 weeks ago, felt tires freeze, grab, car went sideways. Can this be related to esc recall?.

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Fit. The contact stated that there was water leaking into the vehicle causing damage to the airbags. The contact mentioned that the airbag warning light illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that the tread on the tires separated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the front drivers side door failed allowing water to enter and that the wheel was steel and not standard for warm climate. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 71,000.

Have had two blowouts on the same wheel (rear passenger) with different tire brands in less than three years of owning the car (blowouts were 16 months apart, maybe 8k miles). The Honda Fit is not capable of driving on highways! I was traveling at 75 mph, the tire pressure light came on the dash, my car and steering wheel began to vibrate/jerk, car fishtailed, and I was thrown perpendicular into traffic! I was lucky to not be hit by other drivers on the highway as they were able to stop (second time, there were no other cars behind me). This happened twice! these wheels are not safe! NHTSA needs to launch a full investigation.

The tires would all lose air within weeks, every month, driven or not, and still do. From 4 to 20 pounds of air per tire, still do. I think I have rotten so called new tires, as it was a new car. Also if I left 1 inside light on by mistake overnite, it would need a jump start for over 2 years. After about 12 of them in 6 months, they replaced the battery, no charge, and no more need for a jump start the 1 time left the interior dash light on, the overhead little 1/2 side of a light. Mechanics are the worst I have ever used. Worst and wish I never got the car. It is a bad joke and gets tops 28 mpg regardless of what it says on its little gas keeper.

2009 Honda Fit. Consumer states problem with tires the consumer stated the vehicle was purchased to tow behind a motorhome. The vehicle was towed for about 1,000 miles over several days, when all of a sudden the front wheels locked up. The consumer had jut pulled into a gas station traveling 5 mph when it occurred. The two front tires on the vehicle had to be replaced. When the consumer went to the local dealer, the could not explain why it happened. Their only explanation was that maybe the battery failed or was too low but they didn't know why it would effect the front wheels locking or if it caused any damage to the abs.
