1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/23/2026

My transmission went before the car hit 100 thousand miles. It put me at risk because I was in the middle of the road and my car wouldn’t move. The problem was confirmed by the Honda dealer. There were zero warning signs before this happened.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2026

I've been the only owner to this 22' Honda hrv and I have serviced it at the dealer 90% of the time. All oil changes, coolant flush, transmission services etc. Done on time. I recently got it diagnosed at my local Honda dealer because it was starting to make a noise when you stepped on the gas. The noise started at about 95k miles and becomes louder as you increase the speed of the vehicle. The dealer diagnosed it with an internal transmission failure. There were no warning lights or messages ever. No prior check engine lights on or mechanical issues prior to this. I am very disappointed with this vehicle. Hopefully this issue is looked into. I do not hope for this to happen to anyone with this vehicle.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2026

On Sunday, 02/08/2026, I parked briefly to drop something off. When I tried to restart the car, it was clicking but would not start. An engine light came on, and a flashing message appeared saying “park. ” I initially thought it was a battery issue, but the warning light remained on. The next morning, the car started, but the engine was locked and the vehicle would not move forward or backward. I called the Honda dealer, and the technician advised me to tow and bring the vehicle in as soon as possible. I restarted the vehicle, and the message on the screen cleared and the vehicle was engaged. I then dropped the vehicle off at the dealership. After inspection, they told me the front passenger seat weight sensor needed to be replaced, which is very expensive ($1,300) when I researched the, Honda has already recalled their vehicles for this same issue, and I am not sure I need to pay all this money for something that is caused by an identified defect of the vehicle system. Safety recall: 2020–22 multi-model seat weight sensor campaign notice replaces service bulletin 24-042 safety recall: 2020–22 multi-model seat weight sensor stop sale, dated February 6, 2024.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2026

When I turned my car on, the airbag system (srs) problem light was on. I was worried if it was an airbag problem, or sensor problem, so I brought the vehicle in for inspection at two locations. The first location was an independent service center, in which I was told it was a sensor problem. They weren't available to repair or needed an appointment to thoroughly check the problem. Therefore, I made an appointment for the next day at a Honda dealership. I thought that my vehicle may have been a part of the safety recall from the service bulletin 24-036. Upon inspection and a partial diagnosis (they didn't took apart my vehicle near the wheel or touch screen/audio for the sensor underneath), I was told I had a sensor problem under the front passenger seat with the code error u3000-49. However, I was told that my vehicle was not covered under the safety recall. I'm afraid of whether my airbags will be working properly if the sensor isn't working. There was no warning lights, symptoms of problems, or messages prior to the sensor light turning on.

On [xxx], the vehicle unexpectedly shut down while I was driving. After having the car towed to Honda of fort myers for inspection, I was informed that the ground wire had been tampered with—something typically associated with prior accident damage. This is deeply concerning as I was not made aware of any such damage or tampering at the time of purchase. Additionally, I was charged $738 to retrieve my vehicle from Honda of fort myers. Despite multiple attempts to contact your customer care department, including a call where I was placed on hold for over 30 minutes, I have yet to receive any meaningful assistance or follow-up. I have also filed a complaint with the better business bureau, to which I received a response from jp directing me to a carfax report that does not address the actual issue at hand. For your reference, the vehicle has only had one oil change since purchase, which was performed through kia of cape coral. I am requesting immediate attention to this matter and a resolution to hold the dealership accountable for selling a vehicle with undisclosed damage or tampering. Thank you. Two times I have been driving in busy areas and when I brought my car to a stop at red lights and it’s turned green, my car will no longer move, but stays running so then I have to turn it off and turn it back on for it to gain motor function again. I have almost been rear-ended twice.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2025

On Thursday last week, I went out to my car that I have parked in the garage the day before I had no issues with the vehicle drove it all day, but on Thursday, I left home to go out to make some errands hopped in my car and I tried to start it. First car wouldn’t turn on, so I thought maybe I should turn off headlights and interior lights. Then I waited a few minutes and thought maybe the cold temperatures was messing with the car. So I just walked away from the car and I got a battery slow drip thinking that the battery might be dead but battery said it had a full charge at 100% charge. So I tried my battery tester battery said battery was about 100% fully charged. So I waited until my friends got home so they could witness that I wasn’t crazy. The only thing the car did after trying to start again was make a clicking sound for about three minutes then the dash lit up like a christmas tree. Every light came on every hazard that was built into the car was on saying that it needs a dealer to be checked or fixed so I called my local Honda dealership and they said that I should call roadside assistance because the car wouldn’t start. So before I could call roadside, I tried to jumpstart the car and nothing happened. So I went back in the house and about a two minutes later, the car crank and started itself, and it stayed on, but when I tried to turn it off, it told me that it could not be turned off due to some reason, I can’t remember from what it said on Thursday. So Thursday afternoon, I drove it up to our local Honda dealership and on the way up there the car shut off twice on the highway in motion which scared the mess out of me because I thought I was going to have an accident then about a mile from the dealership, the dashboard went black and so did the touchscreen, but then it came back on. But long story short local dealership said there’s nothing they can do to duplicate the issue in the car would not be fixed so I’m concerned that something else might happen.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/21/2024

All sensor warning lights came on the dashboard. Car would not move. Code showed no gas (tank was full). Code for emergency brake (not engaged). Service department. Of Honda dealer finally diagnosed fuel sensor getting stuck. Dealer said they would order part and replace it. They never ordered part and will not return our phone calls. They said they would talk to Honda to see if this model Honda was having this problem. No feedback. This situation has happened several times over the last 10 months. Usually happens when parked with engine running or moving very slowly. We turn off car for a few minutes. We are then able to move vehicle. Sensor lights eventually go off. We are afraid to go far from home because we never know when this will happen and if we can get it moving again. This car has about 31000 miles on it.

I am writing to formally report a recurring safety defect regarding the infotainment system in my 2022 Honda Hr-v. For over a month, the system has remained completely non-functional (blank screen). Prior to this total failure, the unit exhibited intermittent power cycles since the date of purchase around February 2024. Upon inspection by an authorized Honda dealership, technicians confirmed that this is a known computer hardware issue frequent in this model year. Despite their admission that they "see this a lot," there is currently no active recall to address the defect. Safety implications this failure is not merely a convenience issue; it creates several significant safety hazards: • loss of driver assistance: the rearview camera and lanewatch™ camera are completely disabled, significantly increasing the risk of collisions during reversing or lane changes. • distracted driving: I am unable to use integrated navigation, forcing reliance on handheld devices for directions. • emergency communication: the internal usb ports have failed along with the unit, preventing phone charging. This leaves me at risk of having no communication during a roadside emergency or breakdown. Evidence I have documented video evidence of a certified Honda technician stating that this is a pervasive and "very common" issue with this vehicle's architecture. I urge the association to investigate these systemic failures. A safety-critical component like the rearview camera should not be subject to such widespread hardware instability without a manufacturer-led remedy.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2023

2022 hrv battery is draining while parked. I have had the new car for 2 years, low mileage with no problems until this past month October/November 2023 the battery has drained 3 times. Honda of frankfort, ky replaced the battery (said it was defective). The car worked fine for a couple of weeks, then the battery drained again yesterday, November 13, 2023. I had it towed to frankfort, ky neil huffman Honda yesterday. I have had a tow company come to the car 3 times in the past month. The problem is probably not the battery, but something is draining the battery. Definitely a safety issue if car will not start when it is needed. No warning lights came on.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2023

**I have made the dealership aware of the ongoing situation as well as Honda corporate but I am waiting on a call back. * a month ago, I had my car on cruise control going around 76mph on flat land. After a while, while driving on flat land, my rpm's shot up to almost 6000 and the speed got up to 88mph in less than 10 seconds. I pulled over, shut the car off so I could calm down before driving again. Later that day, I was driving around 77mph on the interstate again but this time I was not using cruise control and my car dropped to around 50mph almost immediately, even with my foot on the pedal all the way to the floor but the car would not accelerate. During this time the car jerked forward really hard (I was told the cvt is why) but also multiple dash lights came on. I had picture and video proof of this, took it to the dealership but they could not find any reason. Since this day, my car has lost speed multiple times while driving but the steering wheel has started locking up the last few times making it impossible to even steer and get off of the roadway while the car is dropping speed. This is a huge liability for myself with my children in the car as well as other drivers on the road, as I was almost rear-ended by an 18 wheeler yesterday when this happened. It does not do this consistently but over the past month, it has happened about 4-5 times a week, sometimes more.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2022

I just now noticed when looking out the window at my car parked in driveway, the underbody is is like falling? it is hanging low to the ground. Not normal. Earlier that day, when driving, it felt like I was in low gear, as if I was dragging or driving in the mountains.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/25/2022

Sunroof suddenly exploded and shattered in millions pieces. The car was purchased on November 2021, brand new.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/20/2022

Just bought this 2022 hrv awd ex back in October 2021. I already have one prior issue with the emissions problems and the brake system. When I took it to Honda they said they would take care of it and they did. Something about calibration and getting a part for my car. This morning I tried driving it when out of nowhere I get all the parking lights emissions problems and parking lights flashing and the car won’t even go faster than 10 mph while white smoke coming out of the exhaust and starts pulling and yanking it’s pretty scary when you driving and it happens out of nowhere. Now the I can’t even drive my brand new car that I bought. It shows me on the dash for me to pull over and park. Take to dealer sign on dash.
