Adaptive Cruise Control problems of the 2025 Honda HR-V

My 2025 Honda Hr-v experienced an apparent braking/abs/vsa system malfunction and is currently at the Honda dealership. The dealership has not released the vehicle back to me, and it is available for inspection. I was completely stopped at a traffic light with my foot firmly on the brake when the vehicle unexpectedly began moving forward while my foot remained on the brake. I did not press the accelerator. The vehicle moved forward and contacted the stopped vehicle in front of me at very low speed. I was unable to keep the vehicle stationary despite applying the brake, putting my safety and the safety of others at risk. The car I hit did have damage and they are filing a claim against my insurance. I took the vehicle directly to the Honda dealership after the incident. Their diagnostic scan found trouble code c1000-94 stored in the vehicle. The dealership is continuing to inspect the vehicle and has not released it to me. There were no warning lights or messages immediately before the incident. However, for several months I have repeatedly brought the vehicle to the dealership with concerns about the brakes. I reported that the brakes feel “gummy” or abnormal and make grinding and high-pitched/shrieking noises. The dealership replaced brake-related clips, but the symptoms continued and the issue was not resolved. I repeatedly told the dealership that the vehicle did not feel safe. I have also reported that the vehicle sometimes pulls while driving. Despite multiple service visits, these concerns persisted. This incident was the first time the vehicle unexpectedly moved forward while I was fully stopped with the brake pedal depressed and resulted in contact with another vehicle.

When driving with cruise control on the vehicle will brake when car is coming toward me from other lane as if the car is going in my lane and it is not. It has caused me to have several close calls with cars behind me almost hitting me.

While parking my car and going under 20 mph, my car suddenly accelerated. My foot was not on the brake or the accelerator when this occurred. I was forced to slam my brake to prevent myself from hitting the curb in front of me . This has happened twice, both in the process of turning to park and going under 20 mph. My cruise control was not on at the time. I have taken my car to Honda to investigate and they were unable to replicate the issue.
