Air Bag Problems of Honda HR-V - part 2

My daughter was in a car accident, and the air bags did not deploy. The Honda Hr-v was totaled out. The other drivers air bags deployed. My daughter said the air bag was smoking like it tried to deploy, but never did. The Hr-v collided with another car pulling onto a busy street. The car that was hit was going 35-45mph. The Hr-v had the most damage done to the front of the car. The other car has damage to the front passenger side panel. The impact to the Hr-v was on the driver's side which caused my daughter to hit her head on the driver's side window. The vehicle is at the insurance company's lot with the air bags not deploying she was not protected in the crash. The car has been inspected by the insurance company and they have totaled it out. The car did not have any warning lamps on prior to the accident.

I was driving on a nevada highway and getting into an off ramp with mild traffic. I attempted to break so I could stop behind another driver and realized my breaks weren't working. I then put my entire body weight on the breaks and they failed to stop or slow down my vehicle. I ended up colliding into the vehicle ahead at 50 mph. Even with an impact of 50mph not a single airbag went off. I sustained head injuries. This could have been lethal. Myself and my passenger could have died. The breaks failed resulting in a collision and the air bags did not go off. My vehicle was totaled on the spot and I spent over 7 hours in the hospital due to my vehicles failing to keep me safe. I did reasrch and almost every other 2016 Honda hrv has a recall for the breaks and somehow mine did not when the breaks failure could have killed me.

A 27 mph head on collision. Drivers side door does not open. Approximately 6,500. 00 worth of damage. Not 1 airbag deployed. Driver was wearing seat belt. The car is approx. 4 yrs old. Well maintained. Inspected not long before the accident. I am very concerned at 27mph head on collision the air bags do not deploy, at what speed will they?? or will they deploy at all? the Hr-v has a 5 star rating. I will not even give my Honda a 1/2 star at this point.

I was involved in an accident where my car was totaled. The impact was on the front end. My airbags never deployed, and the Honda certified body shop that reviewed the damage said this was concerning, and based on the damage and the speed during impact, they should've deployed. There are no current recalls on Hr-v airbags. I sustained some soft tissue injury/bruising across my lower abdomen from the seatbelt, as well as some soreness in my shoulder and neck from the seatbelt. My concern is that the accident could've been much worse, and the airbags may not deploy and provide the protection they're supposed to. I contacted Honda about the concern, and I'm unaware of any subsequent action on their part to mitigate this potential problem.

On 2/27/2022 vehicle was involved in front end collision. Vehicle hit a fence, concerned that on impact vehicle air bags did not deploy.

12/2/21-accident started as rear end collision and car was pushed into car in front for a front end collision. The driver side airbags didn’t deploy and the driver’s face slammed into steering wheel causing injuries.

The srs light came on one morning when I started my car. I haven’t done anything for this to happen. When the break indicator comes up when too close to a vehicle my car make sudden breaks and stop.

The car was inspected about 2 weeks prior to the accident. Airbags never deployed nor indicated and the car was smashed in. Electrical problem as I should have seen an indicator and airbags never deploy (wearing seat belt, neck injury, shoulder and back and bilateral knee injuries)and I am as per dr. Order on medical leave as a result of this auto incident.

The car went up in smoke, the airbags never deployed and there was no indicators. The front was all smashed in. I’m completely disabled.

I tried to swerve to avoid hitting the car in front of me.

Vehicle was in a front end collision without airbags deploying. Vehicle was in motion on a city street approaching an intersection when vehicle in front abruptly stopped. Driver received concussion from striking steering wheel.

I was just driving up the highway I did not have an accident and my airbags blewall the bags on the left side of the car and the driver seat bag they all blew for no reason Honda is saying they are not responsible I really need help.

My dad had a terrible accident last night. He said there seems to have a problem with brake. While he applied the brake to slow down before taking the exit 9 on I-395, the brake was slipped and steering was locked. As a result, he hit a guard rail pretty strong and the front of the car was damaged badly. Liquid were leaking and the car was towed, but air bag didn't deploy. He also mentioned that there was a few times the car doesn't start while pressing the brake, so he had to press the brake harder, and sometimes the brake slipped while driving.

I have been in two car accidents and none of my airbags went off . In 2017 I tried to keep from hitting a deer . My car went down a embankment and I had 10,000 dollars of front end damage. My airbags didn't deploy I had head injuries and a broken nose due to hitting the steering wheel. 2nd accident I was stuck in traffic a stand still. 10/2019 I was hit from behind by two cars who pushed me into a vehicle in front of me. No airbags went off. I now have spinal injuries and permeated neck injuries.

I was waiting on the light to make a left on a city street when a vehicle lost control of the vehicle and hit me head on and hit the front of my car. The impact was so great that it bend the frame, the hood, lights and other components of my car. The insurance company declared the car a total loss. None of the air bags deployed and as a result I was injured by the seat belt in the lower abdomen, have back pain, feel dizzy and I am afraid to drive.

Takata recall I received a notice.

I was rear-ended as I was stationary waiting to make a left hand turn on a highway none of my airbags deployed my car is a total loss. Fault the 17 year was tailgating a tractor and slammed into my car. Police came I was transported to a local hospital.
