I have had a supplement restraint problem light on since I bought they vehicle. It was on and off intermittently for the past year or so, however now it will not go off. Upon inspection the wiring is damaged and there is not cover to the ground according to the Honda mechanic that looked at my vehicle. I have not had any service work done in the area where the srs box is located and they did not perform any further inspection on the system. Again, this was on when I bought my 2024 Honda Hr-v. The dealer was made aware and they advised me that it should be covered under warranty however nobody will fix the issue at this time. Please review and look into this issue as it has been noted in prior service bulletins for the srs system light to have issues.
I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2024 Honda Hr-v sport (VIN: 3czrz2h57rm756843, mileage: 45,000). The driver’s seat lowers unexpectedly while driving. This happens without warning and creates a serious safety hazard, especially when operating the vehicle on highways. I commute daily in new jersey (elizabeth to union city, approx. 40 minutes on highways), and this defect places me and other drivers at risk. Despite multiple visits to Honda of route 22 and Honda service center (hillside, NJ), Honda has refused to repair or replace the defective seat under warranty. A technician even admitted this is a known issue with this model. Honda has denied coverage and left me driving a dangerous vehicle. This unresolved defect is a direct safety concern and I request NHTSA / njdca intervention to investigate and compel Honda to act. Case reference with Honda: #15845883 (filed September 12, 2025). Sincerely, william andrés fonnegra díaz phone: +1 (305) 560-7050 email: fonblack777@gmail. Com address: elizabeth, NJ 07201.
On [xxx] while driving on [xxx] , the driver’s airbag in my 2022 Honda Hr-v suddenly deployed without any impact or collision. This created a major safety hazard, obstructing vision and forcing the driver to pull over immediately. The seat belt tensioner also engaged, restricting movement. There were no warning lights, no forward collision warnings, and no external factors that could have caused deployment. A diagnostic inspection at larry hopkins Honda (sunnyvale, CA) confirmed that the vehicle’s supplemental restraint system (srs) recorded no impact prior to deployment. This exact issue aligns with Honda’s safety recall 24-036 (seat weight sensor defect) for the 2020-2022 Hr-v, yet my vehicle's VIN is not included in the recall. Despite multiple attempts to escalate with Honda corporate and the dealership, Honda has refused to acknowledge this as a defect or cover the repair. This is a critical safety failure that could have caused a serious accident or injury. I request NHTSA to investigate this issue, as other 2022 Hr-vs may also be at risk for random airbag deployment. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2024 Honda Hr-v. The contact stated that the front driver’s side seat belt was locking without depressing the brake pedal. The contact had to unlock the seat belt by removing the tongue from the buckle to retract and reset for normal functionality. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the seat belt failed and needed to be replaced. The seat belt was replaced. The failure was persistent. The front passenger’s side seat belt had experienced the same failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was 5,000.
The contact owns a 2023 Honda Hr-v. The contact received notifications of NHTSA campaign numbers: 24v744000 (steering) and 23v782000 (seat belts); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that the vehicle was difficult to steer while driving. An unknown local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was significantly concerned for his safety while driving the vehicle. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The contact owns a 2024 Honda Hr-v. The contact stated while her daughter was driving 30 mph, the driver attempted to switch lanes to prevent another vehicle from crashing into her vehicle. The contact stated that the steering wheel seized inadvertently, causing the vehicle to drive off the road. The vehicle hit the side walk and drove into the ditch, where the vehicle hit a small hill. The air bags did not deploy. The driver hit her head against the steering wheel and sustained neck and head pain. The contact stated that the front driver's side seat belt failed to retract and to restrain her daughter; however, the front passenger's side seat belt retracted even though the seat was unoccupied. Additionally, the rear driver's side and passenger's side seat belts had extended abnormally. The vehicle automatically dialed 911, and police officers arrived at the scene. A police report was filed. The contact's daughter was able to exit the vehicle and did not seek medical assistance. The vehicle was towed to tipton motor sales, llc(3840 north expy, brownsville, TX 78526), where the front bumper, all the seat belts, the front driver's side tire and unknown suspension parts were replaced due to the damage the vehicle had sustained during the incident. The contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 24v744000(steering), which the contact related to the failure; however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the insurance company would need to hire an investigator to determine the cause of the accident because the local dealer was not capable of doing so. The failure mileage was approximately 4,441.
I took my vehicle Honda hrv 2024to kellys Honda in lynnway massachusetts for seat belt recall and they said it was done after my vehicle was serviced but after I find out it wasn't done seat belt always got same issue stuck or couldn't be released and could cause an accident kelly Honda services lied about fixing the problem and its not. Also I have another recall on the same vehicle its been 3 months now and they saying they haven't got the parts yet also there is visibility issue with the vehicle mirrors are not heated and front glass it won't clair even after you turn glass heated on.
3czrz1h55rm725536 when I purchased this vehicle it had four miles on it and had just been also purchased on the 5 it appears from mexico and brought here to Honda south in morrow GA . No information was told to me about the recall nor was it on or disclosed to me . Next day I download the apps for my car to use and immediately I was stopped with alerts for open unrepaired recalls . When the dealership was confronted they said the manager wasn’t there to come back Tuesday . I seen where this is not only a recall but a stop sell and a non compliance ordered . Until repair or replacement inspections have been done . Now once the repair would have been made the system then would have been cleared of it . But obviously they purchased it from the import regardless of the letter sent out by NHTSA on Dec 19 2023 nef-107es to mr. Blank with Hondas campaign manager 23v-782 . Honda south completely dismissed the importance of safety in disregards to the public safety and the warnings put in place . They then gave me a service dept. Receipt as if I came in for it not as a new customer falsely claiming and stating they received deductible in cash for an inspection. It stated it passed and no repair needed . They never did any of this but instead used it to clear the recall as if I was a previous owner receiving a notice . Then knowing it hadn’t been checked I went to another dealership to see if I could get the inspection and they said that in the system it showed I didn’t it yesterday and also had repairs and part numbers billed to the warranty company. I have everything that shows the deceptive actions I would love to see them prove in camera of all the fraudulent claims and proof they worked on it . They used and falsified government documents and records leaving inaccurate data and jeopardizing my and everyone else’s safety . You don’t know it’s bad til an actually accident happens it’s to late . Now they screwed my loan abussive forces of power . Please help take action.
This air bag and seatbelt both malfunctioned clearly the air bag malfunctioned while I was about to cross over a bridge on an interstate . . Ciasing a projectile to shoot me in my eye knocking me unconcouiss and I wasn’t sure wht happened until hind sight and clearly the foremsic evidence supports this . . I woke up hitting. My head on window roof I was in a ditch barreling down a hill twords the bridges legs it stands on and I was already blind I couldn’t see shit nor was I even able to regain control of the vehicle due to the blunt force trauma to my eye and head it was enough to burst my eye ball give me a hematoma and a contusion in my aye and when I finally stopped at about 200 feet 250 maybe from where I left the road I dead stopped hit the concreate leg of the bridge my hands was brassed on steering wheel pushing bracing my self with everything I had so hard it broke my foot . . No air blag deployed on impact I would’ve felt it on my out reached arms tht was on the wheel and my face hit steering wheel about 70 it felt like . . It knocked me out cold . . No way in hell the air bag deployed on impact and the seat belt didn’t lock up no emergency stopping lane control none of tht bs worked . . A matter of fact this air bag caused me severe and worse injuries than the wreck did . . It wasn’t the air bag tht knocked my eye out it was a projectile from the air bag the bag never mushroomed up period …I have all the medical records and pics to prove the foremsics are consistent with causing the crash not stopping any injury’s and thts the seat belt included. .
My hrv Honda got recall about the unsafe of front seat belt. I brought my car to Honda dealer and I was told that they don't have part to replace and no eta at all. That means I have to drive my car under risk. Hope NHTSA would force the Honda CO resolves this safety issue as soon as possible. Best hanson.
Car was bought in November/December 2022. Honda was experiencing supply chain issues so had to wait to get a new 2023 model. Around November 2023, the rear windshield glass exploted and shuttered. At first I was told by Honda that they have never heard of that issue; but when I told them that I went to google and the same situation is happening all over USA, then they said, yes, we know about the problem on this model. They fixed at no cost to me and they provided a rental car as well. I told them that prior to the explosion there was a strong burning smell - later they told me there was probably fumes leaking from the rear windshield glass that was about to explode. In addition, this new car has had a recall (something about the driver's safety belt) and I also mentioned that the steering wheel makes a noise when it goes left or right. . . The steering wheel feel heavy too. I was then told that that is another issue that certain Honda models are also experiencing. To repair that it will take 6 months for the replacement part to come from asia so they were not sure if I was able to just keep driving the car (safely) after I made the decision for them to order the part or I needed to leave my car in their dealer for the length of time until the part arrived. Too many things are happening with the new car. . . I just want to get a replacement vehicle.
The front passenger belt stop latching. I called the dealer. The part was on backorder. I have an appointment on Tuesday 1/23/24 to fix the front buckle. I also told them when riding in the car the middle back seat belt dings like someone is back there. There is no one in the car. Now the back middle seat has a green box saying that someone is latched in the buckle. Again, there is no one in the back seat. I cannot safely put my kids in this car. The only warning that the front buckle gave was the seat belt was not latched. It would not hook on so my oldest would have to sit in the back seat.
All the seat belts in vehicle do not lock in place which is not good for me or my children in car seats! I have a video it will not load from drive or dropbox. I just made it today Nov 27 2024 noticed myself something was wrong then 2 to 3 weeks later it's mentioned all over. .
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Hr-v. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the "brake" warning light had intermittently flashed on and off. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the brake calipers were leaking fluid and the calipers were serviced. No further information was available. Later while pulling into a parking space and pressing the brake pedal, the pedal extended to the floor and the vehicle crashed into a metal fireman's latter. During the crash the vehicle sustained severe front end damage but no air bags deployed, the seat belt malfunctioned and did not secure the driver. The driver sustained a fractured lumbar spine vertebrae and was transported to the hospital. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failures were not determined. The local dealer was notified of the crash. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 5,000.
The contact owns a 2023 Honda Hr-v. The contact stated that the front driver’s side seat belt frequently became unlatched while driving at various speeds. The seat belt failed to latch securely after several attempts. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
Went to put car seat in rear drivers side seat to find the seat belt doesn't latch. Seems to be similar to current Honda recall.
Lease car: I waited for the light to turn green and proceed into the intersection going east. The other driver was going south and went through the red light hitting my l/d door, fender, bumper, air bag deployed hit me in the face causing swollen bruised eye. Car was towed as of now there is $15,709 damage with drivers side seat belt on national-global back order. Due to this being a safety item no after market parts are allowed no seat belt to be found. Car is held up in the body shop they will not release. American Honda stated they have no release date on this seat belt called 13 times, called insurance company will not total car, call dealership no help. 12 months left on lease I am paying for a car I can not drive with no eta. I am afraid of this front end wher the strutts were bent, tire bent front end complete repair. Honda bulletin states, the seat frame, seat belt must be replaced if air bag is deployed safety item. I trying to get compensation from Honda to return the lease car but the body shop will not release the car. I am a senior who is still working with no transportation to work need help resolving this problem.
Driver side seatbelt does not latch properly and appears to be defective.
Back seat buckle in the middle seat since buying brand new will only so often actually click and stay clicked. It has (while my child has been buckled in) unbuckle itself while drive down the highway. Wd-40 will fix for a couple days.
I was waiting on the light to make a left on a city street when a vehicle lost control of the vehicle and hit me head on and hit the front of my car. The impact was so great that it bend the frame, the hood, lights and other components of my car. The insurance company declared the car a total loss. None of the air bags deployed and as a result I was injured by the seat belt in the lower abdomen, have back pain, feel dizzy and I am afraid to drive.
I own a 2017 Honda Hr-v with white orchid pearl paint (nh-788p) that has experienced significant paint peeling and flaking on the roof, hood, and upper panels despite normal care. This appears to be a known manufacturing defect affecting many vehicles with this paint code. **Honda motor company acknowledged the issue in service bulletin a19-064 and extended the warranty for paint failure, but Honda refused assistance because my vehicle is slightly outside the warranty period. The defect significantly impacts the vehicle’s appearance, value, and could eventually lead to corrosion. Additionally, my vehicle has had a long-term water leak from the rear hatch/roof area, with water entering the tail lights and interior. The leak has worsened and is now soaking the seats, seatbelts, and headliner inside the vehicle. The dealership says they must remove the headliner and wants to charge $1,500 just for diagnosis, which I cannot afford. I believe this is also a manufacturing defect, as similar roof and water leak problems have been reported by other Honda owners. I am requesting that this issue be investigated and that the manufacturer be held responsible for these defects.
