The car stalls randomly while driving. Has stalled 5 times in less than a year. 3 times while accelerating and 2 times while coming to a stop at a stop sign. Car was dropped off to dealer for a couple days and testing and evaluated. Dealer service could not determine an issues with any systems. Car being dropped off again to the dealer today.

A recall was issued in 2023 for a problem with the fuel pump which can cause a serious accident in the event of a failure. I've received two notices for the recall, however the dealer where I purchased the vehicle has not yet been able to obtain the parts from the manufacturer. I'm very concerned because of the potential consequences of failure of the fuel pump and would like to have the recall remedied as soon as possible.

I’m very frustrated with Hondas lack of response to the fuel pump recall. Here is what I’ve been told: I called rusty wallace Honda in knox, they told me they can fix my car until earliest November 2024. I called Honda recall number- they told me there is nothing they can do at this time. They told me to keep driving it and if something happens to call, but the recall says the call could stall out mid-drive. They also told me they have required all Honda dealers to pull my model from being sold (if this car isn’t safe to sell, why am I driving it?) rusty wallace told me they didn’t feel they needed to inspect my car and instead, tried to get me to trade it in and buy a new car (I don’t have a loan and don’t want a new car). I want to feel safe and I drive 35 miles to work one way all highway. The thought of my car stalling is giving me crippling anxiety. Honda is refusing to provide anything to me but to allow me to trade it in. I feel stuck with my car because I tried to go to Subaru to buy a new car with them and they can’t take my car. I don’t want to be stuck with this death machine for 10 months, Honda needs to step up and put me in a rental car.

There has been an open recall on the vehicle since 12/13/2023 almost a year I have called and they sent a letter saying parts were in. I went over to the place they do not have the part. They said they have gotten one part per month for 500 vehicles on recall list.

Car slowed down during traveling out of town. It appeared to lose power and we had to pull over. After trying to restart it nothing happened which caused us to call for help via aaa assistance!.

My hrv has a twitching like feeling in the steering and steering sticks going around curves on the freeway. Sometimes when just driving straight I can feel the steering wheel jerking to the right. Fuel gauge is totally off. I can get to around 70miles of range left fuel light comes on and I drive about 2-3 miles and that 70 miles of range will drop to 26 miles of range. I fill up around 12miles of range left and it only take around 10. 5 gallons to fill it up which the tank is suppose to hold 14gallons of gas. Cvt transmission is very jerky. Jerks more in cold weather and coming to a complete stop I get a very pronounced jerk.

Use this vehicle as a daily commuter for work/school/other personal trips in good faith it would be a solid, reliable car. Had it since February 2022, brand new right off the lot no issues. One morning driving to work, the tire pressure, parking brake, and check engine light indicators all come on while I'm on the highway. I exit to an off ramp and pull into a parking lot to go through the different gears and everything seems okay, so I proceed to return to my commute. Start coming to a stop light at an intersection and the vehicle stalls completely as I decelerate. I go to start the vehicle again as I'm in an active lane of traffic and it won't start. Try starting it again and it starts but the parking brake is fully engaged (not by me setting it but the vehicle self-engaged it) and I can't move the vehicle as it won't dis-engage the parking brake when I hit the gas. I had to get it towed to the dealership and mechanics told me later it was a fuel canister failure, and it isn't uncommon for the sensor in that element to fail which certainly didn't inspire great comfort. I drive it 5 miles after they assured me it was taken care of and all the same indicators come back on. Return to the dealership and they re-assessed the issue is farther down near the tank. Been driving it since the second repair attempt and so far no issues. Very disappointed and hesitant about this model's safety and reliability especially hearing about the rear-differential investigation and others having it decelerate at highway speeds suddenly. As this is my first car, I had hoped this was the right choice and would be solid for years to come, but now I question whether I trust the hrv model and Honda in general.

I turned the corner into a parking space at a local business. When I was turning into the parking space, my foot was hovering over the left floor peddle (the break). All of a sudden, the vehicle lunged forward while my foot was still hovering over the break. During the incident, my foot did not touch the gas pedal when the car was accelerating towards the store window. I quickly firmly stepped on the brake when the car began to accelerate. The car went over the concrete parking stop, onto the sidewalk, crashing into the windows of the establishment. I nor any of the other patrons of the establishment were injured. Also to be noted, neither the forward collision, parking collision or automatic emergency breaking took effect. Police arrived on scene. A report was made. After the incident, the vehicle was towed away to a local Honda dealer in order for the vehicle to be assessed.

Since car was new it has surged going up long hills due to fuel pump. Occasionally it would hesitate when pulling out into traffic, causing danger. At 16k miles the fuel pump locked up and left us stranded. After cooling down, the pump worked again well enough for us to get home. This is the same swollen impeller issue affecting around 800k other Honda vehicles of the same make, model, and year in a recall, but the recall does not include our specific VIN. The repair is quoted at the dealership at $1042 for a 1. 2 hour repair and an $80 part, according to Honda's own service bulletin (a21-025).

I've been stranded at least 5 different times. My fuel pump needs replaced, but with the recall, I won't be able to get it fixed until the fall 2024. I'm upset because I have to keep worrying about my car for the next 6 months. I've visited the dealership where they couldn't replicate the issues I was having with my car, until after the recall came out and answered the question as to what's wrong with my car. But now I have to wait for 6 months to get it fixed. I shouldn't have to worry about driving my car. I would like a loaner car until the replacement parts come in and my car is fixed. I should not have to pay for this loaner car. I just don't know how Honda expects people to drive a car that may shut down at any time. Please help me.

Six times on the interstate when we press on the gas it does nothing. The dealer told us it's in the software and was designed that way.

I left my car in the fort lauderdale airport parking garage for one week. When I came back from vacation the car started, pulled out of the spot and then refused to move. I had to have it towed for $700 all the way to my home in palm beach gardens. 52 miles at 7pm. This happened in July of 2023 and there is still no parts available to replace the faulty fuel pump.

The odometer cluster began flickering and froze up disallowing driver the ability to view mileage, fuel level, and other maintenance information. The safety of all involved will be severely impacted if car runs out of gas during trip. The problem is cited in a number of online posts related to this make and model. The problem is too expensive to diagnose and or repair at a dealership. The problem increases with outside environmental temperature changes. Cluster works occasionally if driver taps odometer cluster screen. One online post traces the problem to a soldering failure inside the cluster.

When the throttle is lightly applied from a stop, the vehicle suddenly leapt forward, as if we stomped on the gas pedal. We almost hit our vehicle in the garage. Other times from a stop, giving it throttle to move the hrv would not accelerate. The Hr-v would begin to slow down, even if I applied more throttle. It has happened a few times. We took the hrv to the dealer and they could not resolve the problem.

The fuel gauge went blank. I started my car and the screen was black. I had to restart the car and press the button that shows the oil life to get the gauge to come back on. This is a new problem and I have not scheduled service yet. The car also lurches forward sometime when I put my foot on the gas pedal. It jumps like I have pressed the pedal hard. The car also bucks when I am driving. It happens when I am going between 30-40 mph. I told the technician about the problem and he said I am the first person to complain about it.

While driving multiple warning lights came on stating braking system failure, collision system failure, check engine lights , emissions system problem, brake hold system failure etc. There were no lights prior. I was at highway speeds when all of this took place which could have turned out to be rather disasterous. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that this was caused by the drain of sunroof being clogged from the elements. The drainage system backed up and water entered front cabin. Dealer states this is not covered under warranty. Even though this is a near brand new car.

Car stalled at an intersection with no warning. Tried to restart and engine would start but when gas pedal pushed there was no acceleration. I was stuck in the middle of a busy intersection putting myself and others in at risk of an accident or injury. Had the car towed to Honda dealership and was told the problem is the fuel pump. They have had the car for a week and are still waiting for the part to be delivered according to the service department that I spoke to today. My car is only 5 years old with less than 24k miles.

Our 2016 Honda Hr-v experienced a significant issue when the fuel pump unexpectedly failed, causing the car to stall while driving uphill over an overpass. Thankfully, this incident occurred in town. It could have happened while driving on the interstate, which would have posed a severe safety risk to our family. We promptly had the Honda Hr-v towed to our local Honda dealership for diagnosis and repair, where we were presented with a bill totaling over $900, including sales tax, for replacing the fuel pump. Upon further reflection, I am concerned as to why this fuel pump failure was not included in any recalls or notifications. I am aware that certain fuel pumps in other Honda Hr-vs and models have been subject to recalls due to similar issues, and I am concerned as to why the fuel pump in this 2016 Hr-v was not addressed proactively. There were no warning signs, no warning signals, and no warning symptoms before the fuel pump failure.

While driving sometimes I would have to step harder than normal on the brakes to get the vehicle to slow down for some reason felt like it wasn't responding well. I feel the fuel pump isn't running properly. When I was at a stop light and even while driving several time I would accelerate and would feel like it wasn't reasoning to me pressing on the gas pedal. Please help get this fixed almost crashed!! multiple times.

Vehicle stalls on the highway during longer drive times up to 3 hours. Gas pedal stops working and all dashboard warning lights illuminate. Engine will not restart for several hours but after being towed and some sort of rest period restarts with no issues. Same problem happened on 3 separate occasions. Dealer was unable to recreate or diagnose any issues.

Multiple times per week recently, the car will not turn over when starting the car, while all dash lights light up like a christmas tree. There is no pattern when it just decides to act up…recently 2-3 times a week, in the past 2-3 times a month, it seems random. Sometimes, after it will not start and I leave it alone for some time I. E. : 30-60 minutes, and try to start it again, the car starts right up with no issue. This has left this female driver of this 2018 Hr-v stranded numerous times. Several times it happened while driving, the car shuts off at low speed, and won’t start again. It has become a major concern that it can become a death trap. This car has just over 10k miles on it… it’s barely broken in…. And with brand new battery just replaced !!!!!!.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Hr-v. The contact received notification for NHTSA campaign number: 21v215000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the dealer informed parts were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer has exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact has not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

On the highway and car completely came to a decreased speed of 60 from 75. Heavily revving. Rpm jumped continuously. From 60 to 20mph for a hood 15min constantly pulling over with hazards to let energy build while engine cooled. Leak huge leak under car out of no where 95000 +.

Paint started peeling 2 months after I bought it from the Honda dealership. I have had 2 appointments with them about it and nothing has been done. No call or email. 6 months into buying the vehicle I was getting onto the highway and my vehicle wasn't excellerating then it picked up. The vehicle does that every month atleast 4 times. Also since I bought this car when I unlocked my doors they lock themselves when I open the door. Takes me 10 tries to get into the car. And if I leave the keys in the car the car will lock it self with the keys in it!.

Bought new Honda from dealer, less than 4700 miles. Car would not accelerate after pushing gas pedal on highway and local while driving, it slows down to a dangerous speed.

Sometimes when I am driving on any road flat, incline, up a hill/mountain trying to merge into traffic/pass a vehicle. I think I covered all of the situations. There is a dramatic loss of power or a play or something where I have to push the accelerator all the way to the floor in order for it to get gas or gain speed to pass or to accomplish the task at hand. My 2020 Hr-v only has a little over 17,500 miles. I also only put in gas from qt which is a top tier gasoline. So I don’t know what the problem is but I am going to end up having a wreck because of this or worse dying because of this problem.

My vehicle has the same problem as several that are already listed on your website. Sometimes when I brake the car accelerates and tries to take off. I have to let off the brake and stomp on it again and I feel that the accelerator lets up. Sometimes when I let off the brake the car starts to speed up on it's own. I've been told by the dealer that they "can't find a problem. " I was told by adrian from Honda America " we will do nothing for you. When I bought this car it only had 3400 miles on it so it was like brand new. It does it most of the time when decelerating from a higher speed, like coming off the freeway and slowing to stop at the light.

Car looses acceleration at high rates of speed while driving on highway. On at least 4 occasions even with my foot on the gas pedal it just slows to unsafe levels while attempting to enter on the highway. This passed Saturday while in the fast lane it just slowed to 30 mph with cars slamming on brakes behind and to the right of me.

When pressing the gas to begin moving from a complete stop, at a light on the 76 highway, the car will not kick into drive. You can press the pedal all the way to the floor and the vehicle only goes 10 miles per hour in traffic! this has happened 5 times within the last year!.

I was driving my 2017 Honda hrv when all the sudden the power to the car shut off and the car was in the street without power, I was able to move to the side of the street. The battery light came on followed by the engine light and the car completely died.

Car will not shift gear to drive or reverse while car I on. Car stays still car dose not move.

Got the car on October 2017, drove it off the lot brand new is a 2018 car driving to my house the lights on my dashboard lights up breaks, motor, oil, air on tires, all of them light up like a christmas tree, I took to the Honda dealer and the assistant manager reset the car because the service department was closed. A week later the lights came up again. I call them and they told me to bring in the car they don't know what's going on since this is a new car with no recalls. I guess the reset the car again and gave it back to me. December 2017 again the lights came on I called the dealership now I'm worried because I don't want to drive a car where I don't know if my breaks are working or any other part of the car since I'm driving this car every day to work. They told me it was the oil pump they order one and changed it. Here we are on March 26, 2018, and the lights are all backlighting my dashboard there must be something wrong with this car. I am scared to drive this car.

When ever driving the car starts to smell like smoke and I'm scared it's gonna catch fire or blow up.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Hr-v. After the vehicle was serviced, the contact stated that the heating and cooling unit and electrical system malfunctioned. An independent mechanic also stated that fuel was mixing with the engine oil. The message "front collision" appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to valley Honda (4173 ogden Ave, aurora, IL 60504, (630) 851-5700) and received a software update, but was not fully repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 27,815.

This is an amended complaint no. 10995808. I may have gotten a digit wrong in my earlier submission. From my wv registration, my VIN is 3czru6h76hm716789. I had two near-collisions in heavy traffic because the brake pedal is too close to the gas-feed pedal. I complained to the dealer suggesting the pedals need more separation. That failing, I suggested the dealer take the vehicle back. He refused both remedies. I left the car there and walked home. I refuse to drive a dangerous car. I have no photos to offer. The dealer has possession of it. I suppose the brake/accelerator alignment is per design. I admit I wear a size 15 shoe but the space for feet of moderate size is quite small. I was willing to live with the restricted space - I drive an older cr-v and am very happy with it. I almost crashed in heavy traffic because the brake pedal overlaps the gas pedal space.
