Seats Problems of Honda HR-V

I have had a recall notice on my car for months I’ve taken my car in and they have yet to have the part to fix the recall on my car.

The driver’s seat keeps lowering on its on. I get in the car in the morning and have to crank the seat up and then in the afternoon leaving work, I have the crank the seat up again. I went and made a complaint at 2 different Honda dealerships on 9/4/2024 and 12/4/2024 and they both said they couldn’t find anything. I know it keeps lowering beside I can’t see from my rear view mirror without having to crank up the driver’s seat. It is not an electric seat either. It is aggravating the car had 16miles on when I brought it.

I bought my car brand new off the lot in March 2021, it is a 2021 Honda hrv sport all wheel drive. I've been noticing over the past year that the lever to my seat has been changing the amount of times you need to pump it and the height at which it goes. When I first got the car I want to say that it pumped around 5 to 8 times, now I must use the lever anywhere from 10 to 31 times, and it is always different. The fact that the car no longer holds its position has led me to need to buy a cushion to sit on to see over the steering wheel. This is a huge safety concern because I would have never bought a car that I cannot see over the steering wheel too and nor would I have bought it brand new off the lot. There's also leads to issues where I am constantly needing to adjust my mirrors, adjust my seatbelt, and adjust my steering wheel as well as adjust my distance from the steering wheel. This is wreaking havoc on my mirrors motor and is causing me to break rapidly or not be able to reach the gas pedal if I don't notice that the seat has sunk. When the sea sinks on its own, I am unable to pump it up any higher because it thinks it's at the max amount. I am done forced to get out of the car pump it all the way to the bottom and then pump it all the way to the top. Every time it is a different amount of pumps on the seat lever. This is a huge safety risk while I'm driving. I've also noticed that the seat looks to be leaning while it's on its rails, and the section that sits in the rails while it is at the highest point, don't even look secure I will attach pictures. I weigh 90lbs so I know I have not crushed the cushioning in the seat.

Went to Honda dealer they didnt have the part for recall 24v-064 also called Honda directly adn they said only if the srs light come in dashboard I can go and fix the recall otherwise I have to wait until parts become available to public. This means that paragon Honda has the parts but is being selective. Honda doesn’t have an estimated time frame when issue will be fixed. I do not feel safe driving vehicle with open recalls and cant sell car as nobody wants with open recalls.

Lease car: I waited for the light to turn green and proceed into the intersection going east. The other driver was going south and went through the red light hitting my l/d door, fender,bumper, air bag deployed hit me in the face causing swollen bruised eye. Car was towed as of now there is $15,709 damage with drivers side seat belt on national-global back order. Due to this being a safety item no after market parts are allowed no seat belt to be found. Car is held up in the body shop they will not release. American Honda stated they have no release date on this seat belt called 13 times, called insurance company will not total car, call dealership no help. 12 months left on lease I am paying for a car I can not drive with no eta. I am afraid of this front end wher the strutts were bent, tire bent front end complete repair. Honda bulletin states, the seat frame, seat belt must be replaced if air bag is deployed safety item. I trying to get compensation from Honda to return the lease car but the body shop will not release the car. I am a senior who is still working with no transportation to work need help resolving this problem.

Driver seat is provided with a manual height adjustment using a lever. The issue is that, once adjusted the height, is not maintained and starts to "sink" until bottomed. With time and years, keeps to be getting worse. No remedy has been provided by the dealer, other than stating that is a "normal issue on Honda's with that manual height adjuster.

The passenger airbag light comes and off when no one is sitting on the seat or without anything being in the seat. Comes on for a few seconds then shuts off like someone is sitting in the seat. It does go off when someone is sitting on the seat or if I put something large on the seat. This happens when I'm driving or just sitting.

A heated seat malfunction burned a hole in my pants and melted my driver's license. It likely would have burned my skin if my wallet had not been there. While driving home from a hike, in the driver's seat, I used the heated seat on the high setting. It was a sunny day and I and my clothes were dry. As we got close to home, after maybe 15-20 minutes of usage, it suddenly felt uncomfortably hot. I turned off the heated seat. I didn't notice the damage until later that night, when I biked to a nearby grocery store and pulled out my wallet to pay for groceries. I noticed that my driver's license (the top of which protrudes out from my wallet) had suffered significant heat damage, with a pea-sized brown spot and distortions of the material around it. The driver's license was lightly stuck to the card behind it (my health insurance id card), which also suffered slight distortions in the material but no brown spot. I then noticed the matching dime-sized hole burned in my pants� right rear pocket, where I keep the wallet. The edges of this hole were singed. I suspected the heated seat since it was the only heat source I had been around. Upon returning home I inspected it and found a matching dime-sized hole burned through the cushioning of the seat where my right rear pocket would be, with an exposed heating element now visible through the hole.

My vehicle is parked when this occurs: I have cloth interior and the upholstery material and foam on the passenger side gets pushed down into the seat and collapses, I have to have a dealer pull it out and one time the seat had to be replaced. It is off warranty and I will have to pay for it next time, I am so disappointed in this vehicle. It has also had two stop start switches replaced. I am so sorry I bought this vehicle!.

Upright seat back locks have often failed to lock upon adjustment of seat back on many occasions and since the vehicle was new. Honda “repaired” the driver seat, when the car was originally purchased, however refused to fix the passenger seat back lock. Their explanation was they checked other cars and they were all like that, which means they were all defective. Now have to pay to have drivers seat repaired due to this ongoing problem.

About a month and a half after purchasing this vehicle I took my family (wife and kids) on a weekend trip. It was about an 8-hour drive there and 8 hours back. About 3 hours into the trip my left leg started aching where it meets the seat cushion. I made mention of it to my wife and decided to push on with our journey. About 20 minutes later the pain had radiated into my left hip, and lower back. Luckily I had a pillow in the car that was brought for the kids to lean on as they usually nap on these long trips. I have spoken with the dealer and Honda corporate. Corporate wants a repair estimate to move forward, and the dealer will not provide me with one because after a lengthy test with another Hr-v it was concluded that the issue exists in all Hr-v models and therefore is a manufacturer defect/issue. This puts me between a rock and a hard place. I wish I could do what others have and just trade this thing in leaving Honda and looking at it as the worst decision I ever made and move on with my life, but I do not have that option at the moment.

The seats in my 2017 Honda h-RV were so uncomfortable I had to trade it in after having only put 250 miles on the car. No matter which way I adjusted the seats, it was no better. When I went to the doctor she told me everything below my waist was spasming. The seats were very hard, narrow and the drivers seat belt was pressed right up against your hip and you couldn't move it. I lost $2000 dollars when I traded that car in and I know from all the articles I've read that Honda has been aware of this problem for some time. But they keep ripping off the customers. The test drive is not long enough to detect the problem and I believe anyone who has to trade in their car for this problem should be compensated. I notified the dealer when I had only 25 miles on the car and they would not take it back.

Honda Hr-v has the most uncomfortable seats. A couple of days after purchasing this brand new car, I started experiencing pain in my lower back and tailbone area. No matter how I adjusted the seat, the pain was still there. I contacted the dealer about it, they suggested trying out some cushions. I tried several different cushions and lumbar supports, but nothing helps. My tailbone always hurts while driving this car. It doesn't happen in any other vehicle. When I called the dealer back asking if they could swap out the drivers seat with another seat, they said they don't do anything like that. I feel the dealership has been very unhelpful and now I'm stuck paying for the car that is literally a pain in the rear to drive.

This is indeed what happened why I'm writing this complaint concerning my car safety again for the can't count how many complaints concerning this car I bought in month of may to June of year 2016 this car Honda hrv 2016 was a display car has no nice features in it at all only door controls which already stopped working once this pass week making this car very unsafe for me to drive but initially when I bought car I noticed a dent on back car door I just found out car never should have been sold as new car with dent already to be repaired the price I noticed as well of twenty three thousand dollars was way too high highest price I ever saw was eighteen thousand dollars please help me get this car back to dealership where it belongs community Honda is the name of the dealership other important problems with the car was the brake pedal day two return of car to dealership when I saw on television that this man had five days to return car for full refund and yet Honda refused to let me return this Honda hrv year 2016 also I called the one right hundred number that's universal for Honda and they related the front seat had some dangerous material the word began with the letter p never heard of it before I have asked several times to return this car to the general manager at community Honda dealership in orland park, illinois where I bought the car this car is a hazard on the roads please quickly help me get this car safely back to them and have Honda refund my money of almost fourteen thousand dollars today as soon as possible this has been a nightmare for me my name (xxxx) email me with favorable response today quickly email (xxxxx) please please hurry.
