Sun/moon Roof Assembly Problems of Honda HR-V

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Hr-v. The contact stated while driving 75 mph, there was an abnormal gunshot sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that shards of glass fell onto the dashboard from the sunroof. The contact pulled over and upon inspection of the vehicle discovered a hole in the middle of the sunroof. The contact used tape to secure the sunroof on both sides and continued normal driving without further issues. The vehicle was eventually taken to a dealer where the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty and the contact was given an estimate for the replacement of the sunroof glass. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
