Four problems related to transmission failure have been reported for the 1998 Honda Odyssey. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
This transmission failed and I put another one in and it failed within two days. I have looked online and found out that everyone is having trouble with these transmissions. I think Honda should replace these problem transmissions with a recall. I don't have $1,500 to put in a new transmission every day or two.
Consumer stated that while driving at any speed and without warning transmission failed causing the vehicle not to accelerate. Dealer notified. Ts.
Diagnostic code p0740 - we are being told entire transmission needs to be replaced (even though it still seems to be working for now). I wanted to report it after seeing lots of complaints on internet forums from Odyssey owners who have had low mileage transmission failures.
