Eight problems related to latches/locks/linkage have been reported for the 1999 Honda Odyssey. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 1999 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the driver's side sliding door would not latch properly and could not be secured. The contacted also indicated that the passenger's side sliding door became jammed and could not be opened. The manufacturer was notified and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number 00v119000 (latches/locks/linkages). The contact indicated that the vehicle experienced the same defect listed in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 140,000. Updated 01/08/lj.
1. No known events leading to failure. 2. Sliding doors fail to open/close. It has occurred several times. Consequences include failure to exit the vehicle in an emergency 3. Taken to dealer several times and parts replaced and failure occurs again.
1999 Honda Odyssey rear power sliding door will not latch.
On August 16, 2010 at 3:12pm, I received email stating: "after inspection the tire it is not on the recall list. " message was sent to mfr. On may 8, 2010: to customer service; I purchased 98t futura 2000 lte part number 8694568 2156516 and when I was on i95, I had to exit to go to the nearest dealer of tires (hoping to avoid a towing bill) being firestone tire place just off of i95 at the palm beach lakes blvd. Area in palm beach county, florida. Your tire acted like a flat tire would being on a major highway. Your tire was looking very wavy and when taken off the vehicle looked like a partial twisted pretzel. I got my vehicle re-aligned, as well as, purchased a new firestone tire! replacing tire with approx. Less than 30 days from your tire purchase. I was going out-of-town to my dad's home, a trip approx. 100 miles away one way when this happened in route. I kept the tire and at the time I thought it was an isolated defective tire and was going to write to the manufacturer for remedy. I'm just discovering that there is a recall on this particular tire and expect to be compensated for! truly yours, [xxx] and please send any mailings [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. The contact owns a 1999 Honda Odyssey. While driving approximately 35 mph on normal road conditions, the passenger side sliding door completely opened without assistance and warning. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and closed the door. The failure continuously occurs while making turns. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer for inspection and they stated that the vehicle had been previously repaired according to NHTSA campaign id number 99v158000 (latches/locks/linkages:doors, latch). The recall remedy has not corrected the failure. The vehicle has been repaired. The failure mileage was 500 and current mileage was 183,000.
Electric sliding door Honda Odyssey stays open refuses to close.
The contact owns a 1999 Honda Odyssey. The rear door latch opens and closes while making right turns or when driving over a bump in the road. The contact has seen this recall issued to many vehicles; however, it does not include his vehicle at all. The failure has been occurring ever since the vehicle was purchased. The failure and current mileages were 140,000.
The sliding door behind the driver will not open many times. Sometimes it sticks and even my husband can only open it after repeated powerful pulls. Sometimes it stays locked. The other sliding door is very difficult to open sometimes also.
