general problems of the 1999 Honda Odyssey

Five problems related to seats have been reported for the 1999 Honda Odyssey. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Seats problem

Failure Date: 01/27/2009

Normal use of the car drivers electrical seat adjustment platform failed so the the seat was very loose and rocking. Felt like seat would come loose in an accident. Consequences could be very serious. Certainly violating the safety rating which Honda advertises. The car has never to my knowledge, been wrecked. It first failed in Dec. 2008 and was repaired by welding, which failed Jan. 27, 2009. The entire adjustment frame was replaced at a cost of $1200. 00. I have the old part for you or Honda to inspect, if you wish.

2 Seats problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2003

Got into my car one morning and noticed that my seat was completely reclined. Used the power switch to bring it back up, but when I sat back on it, it ratched back into the recline position.

3 Seats problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2002

The consumer was rear ended and pushed into the vehicle in front. The front seats collapsed along with the middle row seat backs, and the air bags did not deploy.

4 Seats problem

Failure Date: 08/11/2000

Molding on seat detached.

5 Seats problem

Failure Date: 04/02/1999

Magic seat does not fold in completely flat when inserted into well, dealer said this is as flat as the seat will go.
