One problem related to tailgate has been reported for the 1999 Honda Odyssey. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Sliding door window has shattered and is completely cracked. Dealership has not examined vehicle to determine a reason for shattering. . *note: approximately in June 1999, rear windshield shattered and was replaced. Reason given for that defect was excessive heat. Vehicle was eventually examined by local dealership and was repaired under warranty.
