The odometer is often unreadable. This has happening for several months now, maybe over a year, but recently more and more. I looked online and many people are saying this is a safety issue - these readings are used for inspections, maintenance, insurance, etc. Th problem is that there are extra segments highlighted in the lcd display, which makes the affected digits unreadable. Like, if all 7 segments appear showing an "8", that could be any number. If the number shows as a 7, it might really be a 1 -- you can't tell. If it shows a 3, that might really be a 7 or 1. Sometimes there is no actual digit showing, just a random assortment of segments. Date of "first" occurrence below is just an estimate, but it has really gotten worse in the last few weeks.
Exhaust catalytic converter.
My key light is on and my key won't turn my van. I just turned it off and 2 days later I found this problem.
I purchased Honda Odyssey several years ago from a third party seller. After driving about 20 k miles I started to notice "jump" in the gears and subsequently the "check engine" light came on. Diagnostics showed it was transmission, my car didn't pass inspection and I got a summons already. I now come to find out that it is a very common problem and someone suggested this website for me to take this case forward.
The battery on my Honda Odyssey was found dead this morning. This is more than 10 times in the last 2 years and more than 50 times since I got it in 2007. Have had the battery replace and still no improvement. Reading on the internet suggest a Honda issue with the electrical system that they do not acknowledge. A lot of people are having the same issue. Letting the Odyssey sit for an hour or two somehow fixes the issue and it starts. Very frustrating and need an authority to put pressure on Honda.
My gear started shifting while I was on the highway with my 3 small children in the car. It was one of the scariest things I've experienced. The car started slowing down and coasting then lights on the dash starting displaying followed by the car revving up but not moving. Now the gears won't shift at all.
Transmission converter caused the red light to come on after all the emission control systems had been fixed by a Honda mechanic. There has been slipping of shifting from 1st to 2nd. I am wondering if there is a recall on this model because the corporate officials do not provide info if there is any. Please seeking assistance.
My Honda Odyssey (year 2000) stopped at a traffic light, then when green light was on, it roared big time at very high rpm, and moved very little. Lots of cars behind me. After about a minute, my car suddenly moved, and moved as normal as usual. Since then, especially when it is cold, my cars moves very teeny-tiny bit after a stop, and then suddenly pull forward. The situation is even worse if my car stops at bottom of a hill, then climbing up the hill after that is a big challenge. I was told it is probably transmission problem, there was a recall. But Honda dealers said Honda does not share any cost if I replace the transimission system (about $4000) which is recommended by the dealer, because it is out of warranty period, even though the mileage is now just a bit more than 70k.
I have a 2000 Honda Odyssey lx. The cup holder in the rear seat does not hold the cup properly and often falls off. This has caused beverage spill on the persons in the car at that time. At least two of the spills were from hot beverage. I have reported this to the manufacturer but they say that it is not a recall. Interestingly they have changed the cup holders in their newer models.
