While driving on I-90, the sun roof exploded for no apparent reason. Temperature was 45 degrees. Inside sun roof cover was closed so no glass entered the interior. There were no vehicles ahead of me. Had the cover been opened and small children in the middle seats, serious injuries may have occurred. I suggest that a safety notice be issued stating that when the middle and back row of seats are occupied then the sun roof cover be closed. I feel this is a manufacturing flaw as there have been other instances of the same problems and most are directed towards the 2005 model Odyssey van. In addition a safety recall may be in order. I feel strongly that the public should be informed.
: the contact stated the sunroof glass shattered, nearly causing injuries to the passengers. The vehicle was taken to the service dealer who determined that there seemed to be no objects that hit the vehicle to cause the shattered glass and they could not determine what caused the incident. The contact expressed concern that the glass was defective.
