On March 25th 2024 I purchased a 2006 Honda Odyssey from dfw cash cars llc 325 n riverside drive fort worth texas and the dealer gdn is p167677 the VIN number for the vehicle is 5fnrl38746b109993 when I bought the vehicle I noticed it was making a noise from the engine so I took it back to them and they said even with the warranty I don't know for sure if there was a warranty but they informed me that there was nothing that they could do because the car is already in my name the second day I called them text him and go back up there because now my engine was spitting out thick white smoke from under the hood only when I was idling then a week later I parked my vehicle at the store try to leave the store and it took me 2 hours because my gear shift would not come out of park we have also replaced the brake switch multiple times and now it feels like the brakes are completely going out the trunk never opened the handle is not even intact so then for the past month or so the vehicle starts making these loud roaring mumbling sounds like a lawn mower it will not accelerate whatsoever by the time I get through the intersection I have to hope not to get hit by other cars because the light has already changed now along with all of those issues all of a sudden I hear a wiring crackle pop kind of sound so I thought it was a tire no that is also coming from the engine and it's even louder like a horrible motorboat lawn mower motorcycle all in one and when I put the vehicle in park it gets more intense and louder and the needle in the in-dash located in the instrument cluster the one on the left moves up as if I am accelerating and the roaring sounds get louder like the entire engine is about to blow up or the car is about to explode or quit I am a single mom of five children I have not had any transportation in a year I just had a baby on April the 11th I walked my entire pregnancy until I got this vehicle and I've only had it for a few months and it is a total wreck a lemon.
While driving down the road and once the engine reaches operating temperature the vehicle fails to accelerate and shift gears. I mash the gas pedal and the rpm gauge goes up but the vehicle doesn't move. I let the engine and transmission cool down and sometimes it will operate properly again until everything warms up. It doesn't matter if im sitting at a light or in actual motion going down the road, the vehicle ceases to continue moving. I have been going 60 mph and all of a sudden my car loses all movement but the car is still reving up and I can change gears but it stops me dead in my tracks. I called the transmission shop and they tell me its a very common issue but nothing has been able to be pinpointed.
Upon acceleration of the vehicle on all roads there is an uncontrollable shaking. From a complete stop or from driving and trying to accelerate,.
Takata recall I own a 2006 Honda odessey and the torc converter is failing will driving. Honda has a complaint failed against them for no addressing this issue. .
While stopped in traffic, engine began hard acceleration and front tires began screeching. This occurred 4x within 10 days. With each experience there was no warning. It was fortunate that foot was on brake pedal at that time.
I wan on vacation 500 miles away from home. Driving the 2006 Honda Odyssey as normal on the highway. All of a sudden the engine started over-revving and the van slowed down. I pulled over safely. The van would not move in drive although the engine was fine. It had to be towed 100 miles to a transmission shop where we discovered the transmission had to be replaced at great cost.
Experiencing vibration in vehicle during acceleration between 40-60 mph. Took the van to mechanic and was informed that two motors mounts are bad and need replacing. These are not wear and tear items and should not need replacing. This appears to be a problem with Honda Odyssey vans and this problem is not being covered by warranty since the failure occurs around 100k to 150k miles.
When the vehicle is started up, there is a sudden period of unwarranted acceleration (less than a second). It feels like the accelerator input is misread and re-calibrated and then the problem does not come back. I have noticed this problem more often in cooler weather than otherwise.
Unexplained acceleration.
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Odyssey. When the contact attempted to accelerate, she noticed that the vehicle suddenly began to surge forward. She tried to apply the brakes but they did not engage and she crashed into the vehicle that was in front of her. There were no injuries but a police report was filed. The vehicle had not been inspected at the time of the complaint. The current and failure mileages were approximately 57,000.
