The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 238,133.
Engine mounts need to be replaced and this is a known issue that Honda has not recognized to take care of the issue. The issue is caused by the vehicle going in and out of eco mode. This causes wear on the motor mounts which now creates a safety hazard of the engine vibrating and causing more issues. Honda should be replacing these as a recall.
This 2007 Honda Odyssey ex-l 3. 5 l engine blue up its head gaskets and barely has 167715 miles on it. Other vehicles of the same type with over 300. 000 miles are still on the road. . !!.
As coning from the store one afternoon June 20 2020 smoke stared to came out from the engine compartment later ones open hood fire stared to come from alternator quick when to get water and dump rigth at it this was the first time very concern because childrens where at van at that moment which is a big concern after replace alternator totally burn we replace now in 11/27/20 it happen again.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact took the vehicle to priority Honda roanoke (3311 peters creek rd, roanoke, va 24019, (540) 366-0888) for a service inspection regarding the tire pressure monitoring system. The technician diagnosed the vehicle and found that the front and driver's side motor mounts were fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number. The approximate failure mileage was 100,124.
Side and front engine motor mounts are coming apart. This is an arizona vehicle, not subject to accelerated salt rust. According to Honda owner forums, this is a common problem for which the manufacturer takes no responsibility. Considering the condition and mileage of my vehicle, motor mounts should not be coming apart.
A misfire, piston rings. Mechanic said its the piston rings. I ran a compression test. Put new coli pack. As soon as I start the van it starts the problem.
We bought this 2007 Honda Odyssey a few months ago, and ever since we have owned it, it will just keep going for awhile at the same speed we had it at, even though we take our foot off the gas. We have to put it in neutral to stop, or it will pull a bit hard on the brakes. We can stop it like this, but it will wear the brakes out fast. Also, when we put it in drive or reverse, after a few seconds, it speeds up a little. It will just go down the road slowly without putting our foot on the gas. If we leave it in reverse, it will accelerate right through the garage, if we let it. After it is in neutral for a few seconds, it finally goes back down to a regular rpm, but goes back up every 6 seconds or so, then back down, etc. . . Also, when it is idling, and I turn the steering wheel, it revs up again on it's own. We have had the throttle body cleaned, and had it completely checked on a scanner, and nothing came up; everything looked good on the scanner.
My van caught on fire but was not listed as recalled in 2014. It started to smell funny and when I pulled over, the engine compartment was already in flames.
My Honda Odyssey shuts off completely while driving, at that time you can't turn the steering wheel (or it is very very hard to turn). This is preceded by usually the lights on dashboards flashing. Sometimes it will shut off (dashboard will go black) and come right back after few seconds. Other times the I have to stop and turn it on again and it works. Yesterday it turned off and the car came to stop then I moved the battery little and the hazard light started flashing. When it's completely dead even hazard light would not blink. Today it happened again and even after moving the battery it did not get power back. I had left the hazard light on but it was not blinking. However after around 5 minutes or so on it's own the hazard light started blinking and I could drive off.
Bad engine mounts for the 2007 Honda Odyssey exl model. Will cost over $2000 to repair.
On 25-Aug-2016 when my wife was driving my van Honda oddysy 2007 in the highway 210 west bound, the spark plug broken into pieces and went into engine made engine damage. My car has clean maintance history and it has run only 56k. We diagnoised with Honda dealer (rock Honda, fontana, CA) and suggested engine was damaged broken spart plug and we need fix the engine. And cost is $3900. I have asked help from Honda north America, torrence, CA and Honda na not willing to help with full price, they will pay $600 as good will. My understanding is that, Honda needs to build safety to prevent any broken pices going into engine and spoiling engine. Also this van put our life in dange during driving on the highway. So, Honda needs to make sure customer's safety in any circumtances and they have cover full cost for repairing my engine. My VIN number: 5fnrl38647b136586 Honda dealer address: 16570 s. Highland Ave, fontana, CA 92336 ph:909-770-8400 dan reshaw's mobil: 9315 baseline rd, rancho cucamonga, CA, 91730 909-944-5100.
On 25-Aug-2016, my wife was driving my vehicle Honda Odyssey on highway 210 west bound. Suddenly she started smelling very bad smell and she pulled the vehicle from highway and ride into gas station. Then I called aaa for help and towed the vehicle to nearest mechanic shop don's mobil shop. The mechanic diagnosed that my van's spark plug was broken and pieces of it went into engine's piston and damaged my engine. My vehicle has clean service record with Honda dealer and mileage on my van 56k. Then I took it to Honda dealer (rock Honda) for diagnosis and Honda dealer also diagnosed that engine has been damaged by spark plug and cost of repair is $3900. Then I opened a case with Honda north America division for help us to fix this engine as this should not happen for 56k mileage and my understanding is that this vehicle was defective spark plug which caused my engine broke. I was doing regular maintenance with Honda dealer, this never came up during maintenance time. Honda north America refused to help and agreed to $600 as good will. I need Honda's help to fix my engine. My VIN number: 5fnrl38647b136586 Honda dealer address: 16570 s. Highland Ave, fontana, CA 92336 ph:909-770-8400 dan reshaw's mobil: 9315 baseline rd, rancho cucamonga, CA, 91730 909-944-5100.
Engine mounts went bad. When accelerating from a stopped position, the car appears to jump. Took it to the dealer and both the front and back engine mounts were cracked. Very expensive to replace. Dealer said it's not a common problem on most cars, but he's had several Honda Odysseys come in with this problem.
When I was braking at slow speed the engine accelerated. This has happened 3 times. I had to press the brake hard to keep the vehicle from going forward. Once I put it in neutral.
I was picking up my son from school when I got back on the car I notice some smog coming out of the engine compartment, for a moment I though that the smog have gone away but when I open the hood there was a fire on the right hand side of the engine compartment. I tried to extinguish the file with a fire extinguisher but I couldn't contain the fire. We called the fire department and they took over. The fire destroyed the front end of the car the engine compartment. When the fire began the car was stationary I was getting ready to leave from a parking lot in my son's school.
I was driving around 20mph when I smelled smoke I pulled over. There was smoke coming out of the car around the right front tire. Within minutes my engine was on fire. My car is completely totaled. My family is safe but would love to know why this has happened and don't want it to happen to anyone else. If there is another website or agency that I should report this to, please let me know. It was very scary.
My catalytic converter shields (front cover a and b) were replaced on 6/19/2012. On 6/22/2015 the front (a and b) catalytic converter shields were replaced again and the the rear shields (a and b) were replaced as well. I'm not sure if this is a safety issue but it seems excessive so I thought I would report it.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while parking and applying the brakes, the vehicle accelerated without warning. The failure recurred one other time. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not been notified. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000.
The front and right side engine mounts for this vehicle were broken around 78,000 miles. The engine mounts should not broken within this short mileages and years. There seems lots of other Honda Odyssey owners have the same engine mounts issue. The engine mount replacement is very expensive and this is also a big safety issue. The engine mount, especially the front engine mount design should be investigated and should be replaced with a better engine mount.
My 2007 Honda Odyssey touring van had a problem with the engine icon appearing on my dash. I called my dealer, for this problem wasn't resolved on the last service visit. They said to bring it in. I added 3/4 qt. Of oil due to the oil level, at last check fine, now indicated the level to be at its lowest point in the approved range for runability. Services performed, and when I picked it up, I noticed the engine icon still flashing on the dash. Went in to get a service advisor to view, and on a second re-start this had disappeared. Thinking all was now well (and was this possibly tied to a software update service?), took the vehicle about 35 miles home to a grocery store. When I had finished shopping, and started my van, there it was again, the engine icon, flashing away. The next day I reported this to my dealer, and they said bring it in. As the engine was visibly hot, I said I would try and hoped to make it there. Getting of the turnpike exit, my van engine quit and luckily I coasted in to a park 'n ride parking lot. I called my dealer to find out they had no wrecker but used a service. They told me to get it there so they could look at it. I cooled the engine with hood up on a cool rainy day, and re-started my van, and made it to the dealership. I was supplied with a loaner car, and they said they would check over my van on the next day. After everything, we were notified we had blown a head gasket, leading to failure of our engine. This in spite of maintaining all fluid levels properly! we would need a new engine, and no, the extended warranty we purchased does not cover this work. Very, very angry!!.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle suddenly hesitated and decelerated. The contact stated that the safety assist system warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 78,000.
Loss of power steering & difficulty turning steering wheel. Paint on top of the roof has begun to fade. Had to replace oil pan because of lug nut damage to pan. According to the mechanic damaged was caused to the oil pan due to the quality of metal within the lug nut that is of harsher material than the oil pan. Therefore, it caused damage to the oil pan that required us to have an immediate oil pan replacement during a routine oil change.
When accelerating from idle, at times, the engine is sluggish and doesn't seem to respond immediately. The engine revs slightly and then as it seems to engage, it jerks forward.
1) mileage: 73,649. 10/26/11. Honda replaced p/s as it was leaking. 2)10/10/replaced p/s pressure hose as it was leaking. 3) mileage: 113,903. 2/22/14. Another leak with the p/s. Was advised that it could be something as simple as a seal or it could be the p/s itself. Will find out after driving the car around. Doesn't make sense that the p/s pump should fail again after 40,254 miles. Was told that Honda will probably not cover the cost after that many miles. Not happy as I have had several issues with the van. Front wheel bearings were replaced at 34,000+ miles. P/s rack & pinion was found leaking at 34,094 miles. Left passenger door failed auto open. Honda fixed that and now that warranty is over, it's starting to happen again.
Dealer is claiming that I need 2 new engine mounts to pass the next state inspection, quoting me 2300 dollars to replace. I have over 800k miles on several cars, never had a problem with engine mounts. I never heard of these mounts failing either.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated while driving various speeds. The failure was experienced numerous times. The engine had to be restarted to regain acceleration power. The local mechanic performed a diagnostic and advised the contac that the engine oil pressure assembly switch was defective. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 68,500.
On October 16, 2013, my Honda accelerated at a fast speed up my driveway and caused $6,178. 37 in repair costs and slammed into my front porch. The brakes did not work to stop the car. We immediately informed Honda and our insurance carrier of the accident, and the car was towed to Honda in old bridge, NJ, as it could not be driven due to damage. On 11/15/2013, see claims summary, Honda could not determine if this an acceleration issue. They never informed us of what the issue was. Honda did not provide me with a rental car, so I had to rent a car from 10/21/13 to 11/26/13, which I paid $603. 96 out of pocket (receipts enclosed). The amount of time Honda was way too long fix my car and I had pay additional rental costs due to their unreasonable delay. Shortly, after Honda repaired my car, I received a recall notice that the brakes were recalled. Really? this is why my car would not stop. There have been several recalls on my Honda. A year after purchase, the engine broke down. I wrote to NJ attorney general, who wrote back and asked that I write to you. I am also attaching pictures of the accident. There are tire marks in the driveway due to the high speed of the acceleration. Photos fluids running down my driveway, and the damaged front end. I have also enclosed NJ manufacturer's, copy of the claim summary dated 11/15/13. This matter is very upsetting to me and the way it was handled by Honda. My husband, also purchased a new pilot, and my Honda were both purchased new at the same Honda. I know there are acceleration issues with this Honda and this was an acceleration issue and a mechanical issue on the fault of the brakes I am requesting to be reimbursed for the car rental, insurance deductible and a refund of the cost I paid for the Honda in the amount of $28,931. 46. My car has never driven the same since the accident.
In a routine virginia state safety inspection a Honda dealer failed my wife's 2007 Honda Odyssey van (50902 miles) for two broken motor mounts (front and passenger side) and a burned out brake light. I did not and do not believe that such a new, low mileage vehicle should have developed broken motor mounts, especially since my wife drove the van gently since it was new. Because the projected repair costs to replace the motor mounts, "cracked" compliance bushings and other unspecified bushings were expected to be several thousand dollars, I took the van to an independent auto repair shop for a second opinion. The independent shop did establish that the front motor mount was broken and that the other issues, however, were spurious. The independent shop agreed to repair the van for $368. I think that Honda has in this case designed and produced faulty motor mounts (I think that each Honda Odyssey engine has 5 motor mounts). I also think that Honda should issue a recall to replace the faulty motor mounts at no cost to the vehicle's owners and should reimburse owners (current and prior) for any related repair costs. Since a faulty motor mount triggered a rejection in a virginia state safety inspection, this Honda motor mount failure issue is clearly a safety issue.
While pulling out from work parking lot, vsa light came on, d letter gear was blinking, and engine vibrated abnormally. Rpm could not get passed 3000. Also, checked engine oil when got home and it appeared to be low. The vehicle just got oil changed about a month ago.
Motor mounts need replacing and are cracked. Seems to be a constant problem as many americans are facing the issue as well as seen on the internet after conducting a search.
After stopping at a stop light driver accelerated to approximately 32 mph; the van suddenly decelerated to nearly a dead stop. Once the van returned to a normal speed the same event occurred within minutes of the first incident. Weather was rainy; driver was alone. The van was taken to the local dealer where they were unable to duplicate the incident.
I own a 2007 Honda Odyssey ex-l. Had vehicle in the shop today for PA state vehicle inspection and the vehicle failed due to a broken front and rear engine mount. Vehicle has 66,000 miles on it and is only 6,000 miles out of extended warranty. This appears to be common problem as seen from other posts on the internet . . . So much so that the mechanic certainly was aware of it to find in less than a 5 minute look at the vehicle without a driveability complaint by me. Nhtsa should investigate this common safety failure mode for the Honda Odyssey. Costs to repair totaled $1001. 84 ($722. 99 parts and $278. 85 labor) to repair this safety issue found during state safety inspection.
In 2010 I had to have 3 out of the 4 motor mounts replaced on my engine and then last week I was told that I need to replace 2 of the motor mounts. I was told by the Honda service center this is not a normal wear and tear item and that I should not have had to have them replaced again 4 years later. I've also seen multiple complaints about various models of Honda Odysseys with the same problem. Your engine shakes terribly at start and while idling and has a hard kick when you start to go from braking and idling and jerks forward which I can only attribute to this problem. It caused me to brake because I thought my engine had fallen out of my vehicle or was about to and in stop and go traffic on the highway this can be quite dangerous. I believe this is a known problem by Honda as I've seen it mentioned on numerous websites and I have notified Honda myself just recently. I would hope they would look into this. I am not able to get this fixed as it costs nearly 1200$ every time this occurs.
Failure of front a/c condenser by a supposed "rock" impact resulting in loss of refrigerant and a/c service. I contend this is related to design defect of the front bumpers and lack of grill in large opening. Honda provided no compensation and extended warranty refused by stating "dealer stated rock impact is considered a collision under warranty" a google search reveals this is a wide spread problem with many models of Honda, not just Odyssey.
