The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to discount tires to replace a flat tire, the mechanic lifted the vehicle. The contact then inspected the vehicle and noticed that fuel leaking from the upper part of the gas tank onto the ground. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 14v112000(fuel system, gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.

2 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2023

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 14v112000 (fuel system, gasoline). Despite the repair, the contact recently detected a strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who discovered a crack in the fuel pump housing and a fuel leak. The contact called the dealer and was informed that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 194,000.
