1 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/07/2024

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving the vehicle at 45 mph the front passenger tire flew off which caused the drivers front air bag to deploy with no warning light illuminated. The contact sustained injuries and was transported to the banner baywood emergency room. The local sheriff department was on the scene after the accident but the contact was unsure if a police report was file. The contact stated that he sustained injuries from the accident such as his lips were swollen, and received cuts on his faces. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The dealer was contacted, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

2 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 09/05/2016

I was driving straight down a road at speeds below 50 mph and suddenly felt a huge blow to the side of my head, along with a loud bang. I thought at first maybe a deer had come through my window, but both side curtain airbags had deployed. I did not hit anything and nothing had hit me. I did not run over anything either. I had the sheriff document that there was no damage to my vehicle. There were also cars behind me that witnessed this event. My vehicle was looked at by a regional engineering team from Honda. Today a customer service rep call to say that it wasn't their (Honda's) problem and they would not be offering any compensation because there were no internal errors showing up and there are no known issues with this vehicles srs. They could not tell me why the airbag had deployed, only that their tests showed there was no internal errors. The rep said there are a lot of reasons an airbag can inadvertently deploy but since she wasn't driving with me that day she couldn't tell me why mine had, only that no internal errors showed up. The estimate to replace both side curtain airbags is over $8000. 00.

3 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2015

The contact owned a 2008 Honda Odyssey. While driving 5 mph, the vehicle unintentionally accelerated and crashed into a brick wall. The contact stated that the air bags deployed, but failed to inflate properly causing the contact to sustain serious injuries that required medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000.

4 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/14/2013

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph, another vehicle crashed into the vehicle, causing a chain reaction. The air bags deployed and the contact sustained burns to both hands from the air bag fragments. A police report was filed of the incident. The vehicle was towed to a collision center. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The failure mileage was unavailable. Kmj.
