Windshield problems of the 2010 Honda Odyssey

Traveling on the highway, one rock hit the windshield of my 2010, Honda Odyssey. The star crack was about the size of a penny. I contacted my insurance company who sent out safelite to repair the windshield. Safelite inspected and said the windshield could be repaired and then determined that the windshield would need to be replaced. The car is less than 3 years old, has less than 20k miles, was struck by 1, small rock and the windshield needs to be replaced. This is my third Honda, all of them have been struck by rocks, none of the others experienced any damage.
