1 Body problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2025

Severe rust and corrosion since 2015. Spreading across the whole roof line and visibly peeling paint. Not typical peeling paint, it appears to have originated beneath the trim or roof components, suggesting a possible failure of seem sealant, design drainage or factory primer. This points to a latent defect due go early onset and location and not normal wear.

My 2011 Honda Odyssey's tailgate paint is peeling off and just found out they have a recall in the past and they extended the paint warranty to 7 days. 3 Body problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2022

White paint is peeling off the roof in large sections. Massive adhesion failure.

4 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2020

Purchased vehicle from dealership. According to paperwork, vehicle has clean title. When I try to insure vehicle apparently vehicle is deemed "unsafe" because it suffered significant damage and needs a rebuilt title. Dealership never made me aware the vehicle had 3 accidents. After agreeing to buy back vehicle from me, they said they would no longer accept it.

5 Body problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2018

Passenger sliding door broke. Have been opening and closing manually just fine. Today the door fell off. It was parked in our lot.

6 Body problem

Failure Date: 07/22/2018

The cable on both automatic sliding doors have broken. The vehicle was parked both times. Both doors do not open automatically or manually now. This can cause a hazard in the event of an emergency where small children (or adults) are in the back seats. The only way in or out is through the front driver/passenger doors or the rear lift door. Both ways involve climbing over seats.

7 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2018

Sliding door on the left side would not open by remote or manual. So back passenger have only one access door. I think this poses as a safety issue in case of emergency that we need to vacate the vehicle right away.

8 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2018

Cable on right sliding door snapped a week ago, brought to Honda dealer and they stated it needed a new cable. Yesterday when opening door when vehicle was stationary, hard to open, finally opened and got my infant out, went to close door, hard to close then fell off the track, bent pieces on the inside of door.

9 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/21/2017

Clearcoat is fading and pealing.

10 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2017

When parked on an incline, facing down hill, I pressed the button to open the passenger side motorized sliding door to allow the kids in. The door opened half way. I heard a snap and the door slammed shut. Luckily the kids were not getting into the car yet or would likely have been injured. Found that one of the wires that runs thru the door motor had snapped. Only repair for this I'm told by dealership is replacement of the motor. Common problem from what I'm reading as well.

11 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/13/2017

A problem with the driver side passenger sliding door mechanism. The door will open and close when using the button or remote but will not remained latched. After the door shuts, the latch will let loose and the door will be open ajar about an inch or so causing the beeping and dash alert that the door is open. The only resolution to quiet the beeping is to remove the fuse for that door and use it manually.

12 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2016

8 months ago while vehicle was park, rain came inside the van behind rear view mirror down through the radio. 04/01/16 while driving(highway) in the rain water again came inside the van behind the rear view mirror. Talked to service tech. She stated this a common problem with Honda, but they still have to charge for this manufactured problem. Have 75535 miles.

13 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/11/2014

I file this complaint to report a dangerous defect in my 2011 Honda Odyssey van to prevent others from suffering similar or worse harm what happened to me. I stopped my vehicle at the top of my driveway, where it is flat, to get my mail I placed the van in park before I stepped out of the vehicle to get my mail. The van was not moving when I exited the vehicle. My two children remained in the vehicle. As I went to get the mail, the next thing I knew my van was moving on its own down the driveway. Because my kids were still buckled in their seats in the vehicle, I did everything I could to stop the van. However, I did not succeed. The van cut off the driveway, went through the landscaped portion of my yard, rolled over a retaining wall and crashed into my house. As a result of me trying to save my children, I suffered significant injuries which included difficult surgery and the loss of mobility with potential permanent debilitating injury. I am still in physical therapy and will be for a while. We also had a lot of property damage. The car was still in park when it hit the house. The tow truck drivers had to engage the shift lock release to take the shifter out of park in order to drive the vehicle slightly to position it to be picked up by the tow truck. The vehicle moved while in park and never came out of park when it went down the driveway. I have informed Honda of this dangerous life threatening defect. Honda inspected the vehicle on may 23rd at brannon Honda in birmingham alabama and said nothing is wrong with my van. I know they are wrong. This defect could hurt other people or kill someone. I hope the government will thoroughly inspect my vehicle before somebody else gets hurt. My vehicle is available for immediate inspection.

14 Body problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2011

Manual sliding doors (both sides), are extremely hard for adults and children to open, either from inside the car or outside the car. In case of an accident, it would be very difficult/impossible for my children to open the doors to exit the vehicle without any help. Many adults would experience a similar problem. I have to constantly open the doors for people. From the inside, you need to pull the handle while pushing out on the door, and also pulling towards the back. The sliding doors do not "pop-out disengage" like all other manual sliding doors I've operated.
