The latch system on the back hatch has a defect that allows water intrusion which shorts out the electrical board, and renders it unusable. It has randomly opened while driving. Now, the hatch will not manually open even when you take off the handle from the inside. It is a safety issue, and while searching for answers, you can see that this is a universal issue. The Honda dealership confirmed that this is an issue, and the fix is well over $1,000. There were no warnings about this, even when it randomly opened on its own and wouldn't shut. This has been an ongoing issue since we purchased the vehicle in 2023. It is available for inspection.

From time to time the automatic sliding doors (usually the driver side) would fail to close when the close button was pressed. The sliding door would move toward closing but it would bounce back to open position after traveling 2/3 of the way as if it detected an obstruction. At time it would take many tries for the door to actually close itself successfully. It happened at random occasions with no patterns.

I bought my 2019 Honda Odyssey ex-l navi res yesterday on 9/15/18. While the vehicle was parked and stationary, I attempted to open the passenger door using the driver button. It would open and then about halfway it would close. I attempted this several times with the same result. I then tried to open using the passenger exterior handles but still the same result. When it started to close again I tried to see if it would open if I manually did it but it almost crushed my hand. Luckily it was only my shirt that got stuck. I was able to force it open using my shoulders. The vehicle only had 178 miles.

Rear lift gate was not properly manufactured and was leaking water that could lead to mold growth. Issue was taken into service 3 separate times and different leaks were found each time. Honda corporate provided no assistance or support for resolving this issue and couldn't even find records of the complaint (I called and started a case each time - thank goodness I maintain records on this). Apparently, Honda corporate has no concern about water leaks or the quality of their manufactured product once it is sold to a consumer.
