Warning problems of the 2019 Honda Odyssey - part 2

The front sensor has malfunctioned and all adas features are now disabled. There is no damage to the vehicle and was mentioned that this is a common issue yet no recall has been instituted yet.

Warning lights for collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and several additional safety features went on without any triggering incident. Brought to the dealership, where diagnosis is dtc u3000-49 multipurpose camera unit/millimeter wave radar internal electronic failure. Technician advised that this failure often happens after a few years for no apparent reason. Repair is upwards of $4000. Without repair, none of these safety functions operate.

Turned on the car the other day and several warnings displayed on the odometer. Adaptive cruise control problem lake keeping assist problem collision mitigation problem road departure mitigation system problem auto high-beam problem other than cruise controls not working, the car works fine. I took it to the dealer, and they said the camera module behind the rear view mirror needs to be replaced. Technician claimed that because my cruise control button was left on, it kept the camera running, and basically overheated the camera to a fault. He mentioned recommending to router owners that they only turn on the cruise control button when they plan to use it, and to leave it off if not. I asked if turning the cruise control button when not in use was referenced in the owner’s manual, but he was unsure. I would have to double check, but I don’t believe that warning is there.

Multipurpose camera is defective. The camera is available for inspection upon request. A number of safety features do not work when this camera is not operational, including forward collision warning and lane departure warning. Honda dealership performed a diagnostic and confirmed it needs to be replaced. No other parties have inspected the camera. There were no warning messages prior to the camera failing, only after it had failed. This appears to be a common issue affecting many owners of this vehicle.

I was driving the van and all this warnings came on my dashboard. Acc adaptive cruis control problem, lane keeping assist problem, collision mittigation problem. Road departure mittigation problem. All they come one after eachother on my dashboard. I did some research and a lot of vans 2019 have the sa e issues. My friend van same problem she payed 1900 to replace the camera. This is a safety issue and it cost a lot to replace. It cannot be deactivated. I hope it will be a recall issued for this model. I have 3 minivans Honda. I never had an issue with thjs brand . Without any notable prior messages or symptoms prior to the failure, on [xxx] after dropping off the kids at school and then turning on my 2019 Honda Odyssey ex-l (28,170 miles), the "brake system" light was on and the following 5 dashboard warning lights/messages turned 1) adaptive cruise control problem, 2) lane keeping assist problem, 3) collision mitigation system problem, 4) road departure mitigation system problem, 5) auto high-beam problem. The advanced driver assistance systems no longer works, and it becomes unknown to the driver whether the "brake system" light is being triggered only by the collision mitigation system problem, or an additional problemch as the anti-lock brake system not working. While no accidents occurred, the warning lights add unneeded driver anxiety, which can contribute to a potential safety impact. The problem has been confirmed by the san leandro, CA Honda dealer to be error code u3000-49. Dealer diagnosed problem as "multipurpose camera / millimeter wave radar internal circuit failure" and recommended to replace the multipurpose camera and perform aiming. Dealer advised that safety features will not work. The diagnostic fee was $179. 10, and the repair fee was quoted as $2456. 55 the vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. We have multipurpose camera failure. No damage or accidents. It just started failing. There are many reports of this and the camera is on back order with Honda. They are charging $2100 to fix it. The official Honda Odyssey forum online has countless complaints on the same issue without resolution by Honda. Honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers since this defect impacts the vehicle's advanced safety features for which buyers incur additional expenses, endangering the lives of passengers. Honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers by designing a system that requires continuous and substantial expenditures without resolution because it is an engineering problem, I. E. , the placement of the radar behind the large, thick plastic h emblem obstructs the radar. I hereby ask that the NHTSA investigate this issue and order Honda to offer a solution in the form of a recall that permanent addresses the problem. Our experience after contacting Honda corporate to get some help is this is a money maker for them.

Got my windshield replaced. Was recalibrated. Within 3 months, 5 dash lights come on. 1. Adaptive cruise control problem 2. Lane keep assist problem 3. Collision mitigation system problem 4. Road departure mitigation system problem 5. Auto high-beam problem and the brake system light is on. I was told it wasn’t the new windshield and that recalibration wouldn’t fix the problem. The code that won’t clear is u3000-49.

Forward multi purpose camera failed and cause the rest of the advance driver assist systems to malfunction.

The adaptive cruise control, lane keeping and road departure system randomly fails and does not work.

Lkas, acc, collision avoidance, auto high beam problem - all these dash lights come on due to unknown reasons. Dealership blames the windshield camera but even when replaced same issue happens. This is a major safety concern and is a frequent issue amongst 2018- 2025 Honda Odyssey owners. It’s possible that the issue is electrical canbus issue. Please help.

Bcm software is out of date or not programmed correctly, car turns off while driving. When park and off and the keys are away, car tries to turn on by itself. Power lost while driving.

The monocular camera went out unexpectedly for my van back in March 2025. I have multiple failure warnings that all of the van's safety features were disabled. The van had around 80k miles at the time and Honda dealer quoted me well over $2000 dollars to rectify the problem. Looked through forums and online groups and realized it was a very common issues with late model Hondas. Seems like the internal electronic is cooked by heat over time and caused the camera module to go out prematurely. I ended up buying a module from Honda and had an independent shop to calibrate it for the van which still cost me well over $1000 out of pocket.

Within 6 months of purchase (no accidents or related issues), the car starts firing off a wide range of alerts on the dashboard about failures. These include collision mitigation braking system (cmbs), road departure mitigation (rdm), or adaptive cruise control, auto high-beam problem, and lane keeping assist problems. There are many reported issues like this online and it’s a clear failure of on Honda’s part to provide working safety features that they advertise.

Front camera appears to have gone out in 2025. All safety features inoperable and constant flashing of warnings making it impossible to determine if anything is actually wrong. Collision mitigation failure, blind spot failure, transmission failure, brake system failure, blind spot. Those control etc. Honda has confirmed its issue with front camera.

It first started with the power tailgate failure which I brought it to Honda who are aware that there is a faulty sealant that is causing water to get into these Odysseys. They refuse to fix the issues and they are very costly. My van has never been in an accident. Now I'm getting all sorts of warnings from the adas system. Honda has refused to fix their issues and I can not afford $7000 cost to get this cleared up. People who own these vans are complaining and no one is doing enough to get this recalled.

The warning for these adas keeps coming on without any reason.

Multiple errors show up on the dash. I was told it’s dealership, but this is due to a failure of the multipurpose computer in the car. This is the issue that keeps recurring across all their cars of this type that has this unit.

The front facing multi purpose camera is defective with a replacement cost of $1800-$2000. It controls all the lane assist, cruise control, braking functions of the vehicle.

5 emergency lights came on at the same time, we went to the Honda dealer and the problem is the front camera, they told us there, for the diagnosis it was $250 dollars and if we want to fix it it would be $1900, I think that Honda should cover that because it is a car with only 30,000 miles, it is a very expensive repair for a car that is not that old.

While driving the car brakes hard when it thinks that it is going to hit another car even though there is not another car around. We have almost been in multiple accidents because of it. When driving down a winding lane it often shakes the wheel although we are not departing lanes. We do not feel safe while driving the car with this safety feature.

C/s multiple sensors are blinking, such as lane assist, collision control, auto headlight sensor, acc, etc. Those may be due to the windshield camera. Retrieved multiple dtcs. Cleared all dtcs and rechecked. Dtc u3000-49 multipurpose camera unit/millimeter wave radar internal electronic failure came back on. Performed trouble shooting procedure for dtc u3000-49 and found a faulty multipurpose camera. Recommend to replace multipurpose camera first and recheck.

The camera that controls all the advanced driver assistance system fails intermittently. This causes 5 different warnings to come on and all of the safety features bases on this camera to stop working. This is an ongoing issue. An internet search shows that there are multiple Honda vehicles with this problem.

Several warning lights turned on. Emissions system problem, transmission system problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, power steering system (eps) problem, vehicle stability assist (vsa) problem, hill start assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, blind spot info system problem. Steering becomes really difficult, reverse and forward gives out and really hard to control vehicle. Not able to accelerate. This problem happened out of nowhere no issues prior to the lights coming on. This has been happening for the past 8 months I have to unplug the battery so the codes erase and the car starts driving normal then 2 days later they come back and car wont accelerate or would have hard time picking up speed I researched and other owners of similar vehicles have the same issues as mines.

The multipurpose camera is failing intermittently causing 4 major systems to fail.

5 system warnings starting appearing simultaneously (adaptive crusise control problem, lane keeping assist problem, collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, auto high-beam problem). This started a few months ago and occurs every time the car is started, and the errors do not go away after driving for several hours. I have checked all appropriate fuses, as well as the car battery and all seem fine. An internet forum search shows this specific issue is widespread with 2018-2020 Honda Odysseys, but is not being addressed satisfactorily by dealers.

Car randomly started giving a failed warning sign that the lkas system has an error. Took it to dealer and they say that the radar and the camera need to be replaced for 4000$. This is so completely random. It just broke on its own. . Read more...

These safety features do not function on this vehicle. Issue warning lights when car is started.

The van suddenly started randomly throwing up a series of 5 different codes, all relating to the forward camera system. It will appear and disappear at random, showing lane keeping assist, forward collision system, adaptive cruise control, automatic dimming headlights and lane departure system failed. There are tons of issues with the car having bad cables/terminals for the rear camera, a/v systems, and sxm antenna, but Honda refuses to admit that the front camera issue is related.

Front "camera"/sensor went out, this caused all of the errors to come up and ding repeatedly while driving at a high speed on the interstate. Honda says they won't cover however, this is a safety issue with lots of reports of the same issue in a quick google search.

There has been no incident. And I hope there is not. But the forward camera that assists in the road departure mitigation, forward collision mitigation and lane keeping assist has failed. Also inoperative is the cruise control, auto dimming headlamps and the brake system light is on. I find it hard to believe that after some of the less critical recalls that have been sent out for this vehicle that they don’t address this very important safety system. The camera alone costs $800 and that doesn’t include the cost of installation and calibration. I have a family of six and we use this van extensively. But we cannot afford this repair and are forced to drive with all of these lights on in the instruments. We take extremely good care of our vehicles. It is serviced well and has been in no major accidents. Please help us get action for ourselves and others who are in danger.

Warning light turn on without any cause. No accident involve. Just happen overnight.
