The contact owns a 2022 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that during a state inspection, the contact was informed that the rear coil springs and shocks were fractured. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the rear coil springs and shocks needed to be replaced; however, the parts were on back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but declined to provide further assistance because the vehicle had not received the oil change services at the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 36,800.
When vehicle was stopped, a loud metallic snap occurred and the back end of the minivan rocked. Van was taken in to get checked and the rear driver spring was broken. Both rear springs and shocks were replaced. Vehicle only has 51,054 miles and mechanics said springs should last much longer. Also, same day that this van was take in for service, the mechanics told me that another 2022 Honda Odyssey had just come in with the exact same problem.
