2 Traction Control System problem of the 2002 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 07/12/2011

One month ago, my Honda Odyssey transimission started to slip and hesitate when I drove into free way. Almost rear-ended by cars behind. And also, engine and tcs light came on. I had to turn on emergency light and drive at about 40 miles/hour on the free way. The slip seems to happen when the auto transmission switches between 2nd and 3rd gear. When putting on gas to accelerate, it can take long time (1 minute) to go from 20 miles/hour to 40 miles/hour, and during that time, it may suddenly accelerate if the transmission decides to speed up!!!! very dangerous!!!! since then, the transmission problem didn't go away. Contacted american Honda and they refused to cover any cost to fix it. A Honda dealer did agree to cover 40% of the repair. This problem happens very often on Honda cars, please urge Honda to step up and accept their transmission failure, and to cover 100% cost for the repair.

Honda Odyssey 2002 transmission and fuel pump problem.

5 Traction Control System problem of the 2001 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 11/25/2010

2001 Honda Odyssey. 2 bad transmission, this time the transmission started slipping from chicago to cleveland over thanksgiving holidays. Took it to Honda and confirmed the 2nd transmission is bad as well with 70k miles on it. They want $5400. 00 to change tranny, yet its their problem. They never fixed the problem originally just replaced a bad tranny with the same bad tranny hoping the car would be scrapped before it falls apart. Honda dealerships extremely rude and want nothing to do with it. We were stuck on the toll road until my 64 year old cancer patient father came to get the wife and grandkids off the side of the road. If my wife was driving she would of freaked out driving and who knows what she would of done. Anyways completely unacceptable by Honda.

6 Traction Control System problem of the 2009 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 04/26/2010

2009 Honda Odyssey, problem started on Monday 04/26/10. Early morning as I was leaving my place for work, I noticed that the brakes were 'soft'; at the first stop sign, it took the brake to stop the van a longer distance than usual, speed is below 20mph. I was still able to drive to work without further incident that time. Then at noon I went out to have lunch, I drove to a nearby place about 10 miles, while I'm driving the vsa off signal lamp came on, driving speed at 35mph, good driving/weather condition, road is well paved; when I got to my destination, I turned off the engine, waited a few minutes, and started the engine again, the vsa signal lamp is now off. No further incident that time again. The next instance that the vsa signal lamp went on while I was driving on my way home, it stayed on for a few minutes, then it went off. I brought the vehicle to the dealer/service shop to have it check, left it there overnight and got it back the next day; I was told that the problem was a faulty steering angle sensor. I'm now suspecting that the recent recalls regarding my07/08 Odysseys is also affecting certain my09.

7 Traction Control System problem of the 2003 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 01/02/2010

The transmission on my 2003 Odyssey just failed at 83,000 miles. 2nd and 3rd gears, mainly over 25 miles per hours, do not work predictably. When one would normally expect it to go to third gear, it slips. The car just started this today. From what I have read, the dealership will charge thousands of dollars to replace it. I am dropping it off tonight or early tomorrow morning. I hope it is only a part, and that I don't have to replace the whole transmission; I can't afford it. The car has had average maintenance by the dealership. This is a safety issue. I can't pull into and out of intersections predictably. Taking a left from a busy highway, such as the one I live near, is dangerous, because I don't know what the van will accelerate like. What if it slips out of gear, and I get stuck in a lane of oncoming traffic? I hope that Honda is required to fix or replace the transmission. No one expects this out of a six to seven year old car with 83,000 miles anymore. People may try to drive slowly anyway, because they cannot afford to replace the transmission. There are accidents waiting to happen, because the cars behind the van will expect it to accelerate, and it will get caught in the middle of intersections.

8 Traction Control System problem of the 2007 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 08/22/2009

2007 Honda Odyssey braking system not working good only less than 10k. Mile steering start shaking and dealer told us it is warp they charge me $99 for resurfacing rotor but after another 10k it come back again and my car steering is getting heavy again even dealer replace that already. I assume that Honda vsa or abs not working properly some how when Honda lost very important life at highway accidents might they do something on this miserable happen. What kind car need to be resurfacing rotor every 10k mile and even I did that still on highway 70 mile drive steering make shaking and vibrating even it's resurfaced rotor.
