Xxx- complaint # xxx for NHTSA investigation ea25004 - issues related to auto idle stop - battery & starter failures. Xxx - complaint # xxxfor Honda corporate asking to be part of extended warranty for TSB 23-008 and TSB 23-009 xxx - ticket #xxx-Honda cars of mckinney - reported continued issues with sluggish starts from hot vehicle and failure of auto idle stop/restart * asked for complete check of electrical system including battery, relays, starter and review of internal recalls, tsbs, and referenced NHTSA investigation ea25004. * battery was replaced xxx at a cost of $402. 08 and checked okay * starter failed check with excessive resistance causing sluggish starts, and failure of auto idle stop function to restart vehicle in traffic. Both the starter and relay assembly were replaced at a cost of $786. 28. * requested Honda goodwill assistance review as this is a known problem under Honda TSB 23-008 and 23-009 to cover these expenses outside the standard warranty. Hendricks auto group(mckinney) and Honda corporate refused to apply the goodwill assistance so I had to pay out-of-pocket for a known issue for this model year vehicle. They claimed the original owner failed to bring the vehicle in for this work, and I as the second owner was basically a 'buyer beware' even though there was nothing reported on the carfax report. * I feel this is a safety issue Honda clearly knew about, and without the work done by the first owner, it exposed my family to a dangerous issue in that the car would fail to restart safely in traffic leaving us vulnerable to an accident and in [xxx] - road rage. * purchased this vehicle used from eckert Hyundai-denton texas - mileage 45,835 * 2024 Honda Passport blk edition-VIN [xxx] mileage - 48,406 * reference NHTSA ea25004, Honda service bulletin 23-008 1-having issues with engine/idle/restart allowing vehicle to die at red lights and failing to restart(engine dying/difficult to restart). This caused the vehicle to die several times at a red light and we could not get it easily started again, resulting in traffic delays and very upset drivers behind me. Finally able to restart after several attempts. Have to disengage this feature each time we drive now. 2-also having issues with what appeared to be weak or dying battery. 3- took to Honda cars of mckinney, they diagnosed with weak battery, and replaced it at a cost to me of $402. 08 at mileage 46,868 on xxx. 4- I am still having issues with 'reluctant/slow to start' issues, and engine/idle/restart 5- I would like this to be included in NHTSA ea25004, issued xxx if possible. At a red light in an intereection the auto engine idle stopper feature stopped the engine and it failed to power / restart the engine. The cars electral system locked up. Could not restart engine, and could not put car in neutral because engine needs to be on. Had to car battery jumped. Took car to Honda dealership after incident. They concluded that the battery and electrical systems passed all diagnostic tests. If this is the case there is a major safety issue with the car.
Electrical mechanical malfunction to breaking and steering wheel issues, along with vehicle stalling performance issues. Notified Honda multiple times, unable to resolve issue that led to an accident on December 20th 2024, was told it was due to aws system and camera components were replaced. Continue reoccurring issues to vehicle required a diagnosis Honda unable to diagnose vehicle while still under warranty also refused to continue to acknowledge warranty and safety of passenger. I am having an issue with the turn signal / emergency flasher not making any noise while in operation. The system visual components work fine. It's the inability to hear the flashing of the signals while driving down the road this could lead to issues with other cars trying to interpret the intention of the movement of my car while I am driving. I went to the Honda dealership (gillman Honda) service department and was informed that my particular model does not have a fix or capability for the sound level to be adjusted, whereas other models (pilot, accord, etc. ) do have this capability. Replacement of the flasher is not an option. Could the NHTSA please create a minimum decibel level standard to help insure safe operation of vehicles on the roads.
