Exterior Lighting Problems of Honda Passport

Auto has a known defect with headlight condensation ,Honda put out a bulletin sb 23-024 stating they are aware of this issue. Vehicle had this problem at 38000 miles just outside their standard 3 year 36000 mile warranty. To repair this Honda dealer stated a price of $1400. 00 ,which is a lot of money ,my concern is that failure to fix will lead to other headlight issues such as burned out bulbs and harness corrosion. Not to mention adding to dim light poor visibility.

The led headlights are so dim that when other cars with normal led headlights pass you on the left or on the right it appears as though the headlights on the 2026 Passport are not even turned on. This constitutes a safety hazard. This is a well known issue with Honda as I discovered when researching the matter online after the vehicle purchase.

Upon many vehicles flashing headlights coming towards me, and the driver in front of me pulling over, I investigated once I reached my destination. It soon was evident that the water inside my driver's side headlamp had frozen and was creating a prismatic effect and reflecting light all over the road. This created significant safety risks to my family and other motorist. Honda investigated and acknowledged a TSB for water in the headlights due to a manufacturing defect. However the cost of replacement and the availability of a replacement lamp are prohibitive.

I was driving down a dark road at night. The vehicle has the auto high beam feature. The high beams never activated while driving. So I am not sure if there is a bad sensor or it is the system. I have seen a lot of complaints about this feature on forums and facebook pages.

Headlights have condensation. Vehicle purchased in may 2019 and in November 2022 condensation is inside headlight. Mileage is 38,000.

Automatic high beam headlights turn on and off sporadically causing flashing lights for oncoming traffic.

The headlights iced over completely while driving in light freezing drizzle. When they iced over it was at night and I was no longer able to see well enough to drive safely. These all led headlights need a heating system like emergency lights to prevent this in freezing conditions.

Vehicle has led headlights. In snowy conditions at night, buildup on headlights caused extremely reduced visibility. Required frequent pulling over, getting out of vehicle, and clearing headlights. Not a safe situation in the snow. Never had problems with halogen or hid lighting so I suspect it’s a heat issue due to led lights operating much cooler. Also, snow buildup on grille emblem that houses radar for accident avoidance causes system failure which results in instrument display of failure. The warning box completely covers the speedometer so you have no idea of your speed. Also not good in snowy conditions. This can be turned off, but not while moving, and defeats the purpose of the avoidance system.

While driving on the highway my Passport, I smelled what reminded me of electrical wires sizzling it was coming from the Honda display audio unit . The apple play stop working and I had no audio sound from the radio or other app. The unit was unresponsive and remain on with the engine cut off. The display while not working remain on for three day before turning off. The unit randomly continue to go out after the smell of burning wire. And error code begin to display: 6382 appeared. This problem is still occur and I had to replace my I phone because the inside of the phone was burn. I do want to have the Passport cause harm to someone before check this safe issue out.
