1 Tire Blowout problem

The contact owned a 2007 Honda Pilot equipped with toyo open country at tires. The tire size was unknown. While driving 65 mph, the contact heard an abnormally loud noise. The vehicle lost control and crashed into trees and the median. The contact stated that the rear passenger tire blew out. The driver side air bag; deployed, however the passenger side air bag failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed from the scene and later deemed destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 115,000 and the tire failure mileage was unknown.

2 Tire Blowout problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Pilot. The vehicle has goodyear integrity, size 175/70r13 tires. While driving 45 mph, the contact heard a funny sound and then the driver side rear tire blew out. The stabilizer failed when it was struck by the tire, along with the shock absorber. The vehicle was driven to a gas station. The contact called the dealer and a mechanic arrived and changed the tire. He then took the vehicle to the Honda dealer. The Honda dealer informed the contact that goodyear would replace the tire; however, they still have not. The contact stated that the tires were inspected three days prior to the blow out and there were no failures at that time. Honda sent the remains of the tire to goodyear. Goodyear sent a disclaimer, which stated that the tire had a leak that caused it to blow out. The contact stated that she had a mechanism in her vehicle that would have informed her if the tire pressure was low. The current mileage, dot number, and purchase date were unavailable. The failure mileage was 6,853.
