1 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2017

Takata recall: when my vehicle is both stationary and in motion; the airbag light on the dashboard lights up. This has occurred consistently for the last 2 months. Took car to local Honda dealership which said it was an issue the driver side airbag. I called Honda and they said my vehicle had no recall for driver side. Only for the passenger side; which I had fixed after the recall in October 2016. All public data that I have seen suggests that the driver side airbag is an issue. But Honda will not replace at their cost. Very frustrated?.

2 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2016

The contact owns a 2011 Honda Pilot. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 16v346000 (air bags) and 13v016000 (air bags); however, the parts for the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 58,033. Parts distribution disconnect and VIN tool confirms parts not available.

3 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2014

Airbag light began coming on intermittently in November of 2014. When taken to the dealership to get checked out, we were informed that we needed to replace it. We were then informed that it is not covered under warranty and was not part of the recall of affected airbags. Additionally, it would cost $900+ to replace. I don't understand why the financial burden of an obvious defect is placed on the consumer rather than the manufacturer. There is no reason that a vehicle that has never been in an accident and is less than five years old should be having this problem. I am sure that we are not the only people having this problem. How many people have to get injured because they can't afford a $900 fix for a problem that they didn't create?.
