The engine is making a noise underneath—I think it's a connecting rod bearing. We replaced the entire timing belt assembly because of that sound, but now I don't know what to do; when driving on narrow streets, it displays a "collision brake warning" every time another car approaches.
Honda Pilot has multiple warning lights problem. I am an extremely normal and safe driver. However, the warning sign turns on and off again and again. Parking collision warning, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, emissions system problem this happens frequently when turning on the engine or while driving. Even there have been no accidents, no electrical changes, and even the battery was recently replaced. So I went to an auto shop and had it repaired. The car shop also said that there are too many Honda cars with this symptom. However, even after several days, the same symptoms are recurring. Sometimes it's on and sometimes it's off and it's a mess. It's all directly related to safety, so I feel very stressed every time I drive. If a safety warning light comes on while driving, the driver becomes anxious and doubts safety. I google the forum(piloteers. Org) and found that there were so many drivers experiencing the same symptoms as me, and they were all seriously concerned and threatened about safety. This symptom has continued since this spring. It's stressful every time I turn on the engine. I don't understand why a car that I paid many dollars for has such safety issues. We respectfully request an official problem resolution and recall from Honda.
The keyless start systems problem light has been on for about a month and sometimes I have issues starting the vehicle.
2016 Honda Pilot awd touring. 78,706 miles. Multiple incidents of car breaking without warning. Today, while driving on interstate at 70 mph the vehicle suddenly/without warning braked causing neck stain and nearly rear-ended by a semi truck. Similar reports on the internet point to the cmbs on this make and model. Also, the monitor screen goes dark intermittently and the vehicle stalls at stop light. The sudden braking is dangerous and I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. I have reported this incident to the am. Honda corporation through their website.
I have been having trouble with the auto-engine idle/restart feature for over 2years! (I saw this is a current investigation) I reported the problem to my local dealer at time of routine maintenance visit ~2yrs ago and (without driving it except from the garage to the customer driveway) they said “there’s no problem, looks fine”. I now try to remember to disengage that feature as soon as I turn on the car, but when I forget I stall out at red lights. It’s always been a design flaw that you can’t just turn off the feature! I’ve never had to be jumped off but it does block up traffic for a minute to have to restart the car. This same vehicle also had the failed fuel injectors at ~35k miles, starting almost a year before the official recall, and it took over 6 mos to diagnose that problem through multiple various dealerships and service stations. This 2016 model with the first generation of the Honda tech package has been a hot mess! (the lateral collision sensors are also set too wide and the car will abruptly break for cars in turn lanes or driveways adjacent to your lane. I reported this to the dealership within the first year as well).
Auto start / stop functionality won't re start engine after it has engaged. Engine won't crank over, multiple dash warnings come on. Push start bottom doesn't work, have to put vehicle back in park and have to attempt several times to start engine.
There is a problem with the collision mitigation braking system. The dash warning light for this system came on while driving and there was no foreseeable problem about to happen. The Honda dealer reset the system. Within a month or two while driving in the carpool lane of a freeway the warning lights for the system came on again. Once again there was no hazard at the time. This time the dealer was unable to reset it and quoted us $1,800 to repair/replace the system. We have not had the repair done as of today. The warning light on the dashboard is on whenever we drive the vehicle.
Vehicle stationary. Auto engine idle engaged. Car losses power. Been happening for several year. Dealer says nothing wrong. Now on two occasions, car has stalled when brake released to re-engage engine. Car going into shop. Car is stationary and basically stalls. Sometimes power loss disables collision mitigation systems.
