Failure Date: 01/06/2026

Vehicle: 2019 Honda Pilot issue: complete dashboard blackout / loss of safety systems safety defect: yes description of the problem: while driving, the entire dashboard and infotainment system suddenly go black without warning. This includes the speedometer, fuel gauge, warning lights, backup camera, and all Honda sensing features (lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation, road departure mitigation). When this happens, I cannot see my speed or any critical vehicle information. The system reboots on its own while still driving. This failure happens intermittently and unpredictably, including at highway speeds. It creates a serious safety hazard because I lose all driver information and safety alerts. Many other 2019 Honda Pilot owners report the same issue, and Honda has not issued a recall or permanent fix. Honda cannot figure out why this happens depsite me taking it to dealer several times. Frequency: • has happened multiple times when it occurs: • while driving what has been done so far: Honda dealers have not provided a permanent fix. Software updates and resets do not resolve the issue. Honda has not acknowledged this as a safety defect despite widespread reports. Why this is a safety issue: losing the speedometer, warning lights, and safety systems while driving is extremely dangerous. I cannot tell how fast I am going, whether the vehicle has warnings, or whether safety systems are active. This should be investigated as a safety defect.

5 Assist problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2025

My cruise control stopped working and all my lane assist stopped working. My front camera stopped working. I went to the Honda dealership, and it was going to be over $2000 to replace. The car is only 6 years old, it has had no accidents or problems. I’m incredibly upset that this already is a problem, and because I didn’t buy an extended warranty it’s on me to fix.

So my front sensing camera failed after 125,000 miles , Honda sensing features disabled and dealer in elk grove, CA zip code 95624 quoted me 2,215 plus tax and that includes diagnostics. It showed 5-6 errors on my dashboard which have disturbed my focus on driving. Advisor said there’s no recall on this issue or warranty at all except if you bought an extended warranty. This is not fair as this is an electronic automated design, this should have a warranty. This will pose danger to customers who owns this vehicle.

7 Assist problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2025

My 2019 Honda Pilot’s (125,000 miles) forward-facing sensing camera (behind the rear-view mirror) failed, disabling Honda sensing features like lane keep assist, automatic high beam, adaptive cruise control, and collision mitigation braking. The dashboard shows “Honda sensing problem”, braking system and “collision mitigation system problem. ” dealer diagnosed a bad sensing camera and quoted around $2,316 plus tax for replacement and calibration, not covered by warranty. Many other owners report the same issue. This is a safety risk since it disables key safety systems. Please investigate and consider a recall.

14 Assist problem

Failure Date: 06/26/2025

After starting my vehicle and leaving the office, several different warning messages began flashing on the dash abs, lane departure mitigation, power sterring, towing. I pulled over and turned the vehicle off. When I attempted to restart the vehicle, the brake pedal was hard and felt stuck. The car did not start. When roadside assistance came, they tested the battery, and it was fine. The car was towed to a Honda dealer and the technician informed me the brake pedal position switch failed. He said that it would have caused all the different warning messages to appear. This was the second time this occurred, where the different warning messages lit up, but that time the car restarted. When I took it to the dealer that time, they could not determine the issue, and no repairs were done. I am concerned because I have seen that these vehicles have issues with this and it is very dangerous and unsafe when it comes to issues with the brakes.

15 Assist problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2025

The windshield camera (aka "monocular camera") appears to be failing prematurely. According to internet research, this appears to be an overheating problem in the design of monocular camera. This results in a litany of dashboard errors like the following: collision mitigation problem, road departure mitigation system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, lane keeping assist problem, braking system error, auto high beam problem.

16 Assist problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2024

Received five warning lights at idle. Adaptive cruise control problem, lane keeping assist problem, collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, auto high beam problem. None of these safety features work in my vehicle. I have taken this to the dealership to troubleshoot the issue and they confirm that the issue is there and said that it was the multi-purpose camera on the rear view mirror. This will end up costing around $2,000 to repair. Without these safety systems, my family is obviously not as safe. . . As a consumer we pay extra for all the engineering and the physical components to have these safety features. Otherwise, I could have saved $20,000 and bought a 2000s model suburban that doesn't have these safety features.

17 Assist problem

2019 Honda Pilot began throwing error messages every time the car is started around 8/1/24. Error messages include acc (adaptive cruise control problem), lkas (lane keeping assist problem), collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem and auto high-beam problem.

All electrical systems failed at once due to a malfunction in the front camera-sudden failure with no damage to the vehicle physically. Honda refuses to fix or honor the issue. A recall should be required due to the vast amounts of complaints on the same issues. This should not be a financial responsibility on the owner.

19 Assist problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2024

The forward facing camera has failed causing the cruise control automatic, breaking land departure, and other various electrical problems due to the malfunction of the camera.

20 Assist problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2023

All my dash warning lights started coming on for adaptive cruise control, abs, lkas, front collision mitigation, road departure mitigation. They all came on at once. I took it to Honda and they said it’s a front camera issue and I’d need to pay $1800 to replace it. Researching it online, I’ve seen many Pilot owners that have had this same issue.

21 Assist problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2023

The Honda sense camera failed due to an internal fault just outside the manufacturer's warranty. Dealership was needed to replace it in order to regain function at out of pocket cost. Upon the camera failing the driver is met with 5 warning lights that the following are no longer active: lkas, acc, automatic braking\forward collision warning, adaptive headlights, and lane mitigation system. You have to clear each of these before you can use the main dash (including mph). Cruise control is completely disabled. Although there is no asserted timeline for the life of the camera, research shows (and dealership sates) that this is a known issue. Reaching out to Honda's technical support team returns a somewhat blanket response stating that although campaigns exist for other issues with my VIN it is my monetary responsibility to handle this particular issue, although I was writing to the campaign department to add to the growing list of those with this particular issue in hopes of moving toward a recall, not because I expected there was one in place for this issue. For reference, vehicle was parked when issue began.

22 Assist problem

Failure Date: 05/08/2023

The acc and lkas do not work on my 2019 Honda Pilot. The dealer is saying that it is the front windshield camera. This put me and others at risk because the cruise control doesn't work, the lane assist dosen't work, the auto braking doesn't work. These controls are meant to help curb driver fatigue, and to basically keep your car in the proper lane and a safe distance from other cars. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer and can be fixed by the dealer by replacing the camera to the tune of $1900. 00. When you start the car you will get several warning messages about the acc, braking system and lkas not working. A recall should be put in place there are thousands of people experiencing this problem with several of the Honda models.

23 Assist problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2021

While driving on highways that have had repairs done my lane departure sensing system has kicked in and both jerked my car over as well automatically slowed the speed. The issue is that the car's sensors are reading the material used to repair the roads as if they are the lane markers and have pulled me out of an actual lane and caused my car to slow while on the expressway. Twice this has happened during rush hour and I was nearly rear ended twice and almost hit a car in the lane next to me once. To be clear: in each of these incidents I was in a proper lane and was not drifting. The lane had repairs/patches done which caused the car's sensors to misread the lane's boundaries.
