1 Brake Light problem of the 2003 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 10/09/2016

The contact owns a 2003 Honda Pilot. While driving various speeds, the low beam headlights failed to illuminate. The contact stated that the high beam headlights were needed to drive at night. In addition, the brake lights would not illuminate when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the low beam terminal harness failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.

2 Brake Light problem of the 2004 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 09/28/2013

The modules housing the rear lights, including the brake lights, on my 2004 Pilot are defective; red, plastic reflectors inside both modules of my vehicle have detached. The modules are one piece in design and cannot be opened or repaired. Honda knew certain 2004 Pilots had defective light modules because it issued an advisory to dealers to replace them. However, Honda refuses to replace the modules on my car, saying the car is too old. There is no expiration date for safety.

3 Brake Light problem of the 2008 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 09/28/2011

3rd brake light failed. Upon inspection found bulb to be burnt out and socket partially melted. Replaced bulb with manufacturers recommended bulb. It appears to be the same bulb that orginally burned out. I have a concern for a vehicle fire due to this overheating.

4 Brake Light problem of the 2003 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 12/07/2010

The right rear taillight has fallen apart internally. There is a clear "half-dome" over the bulb on the brake light portion, inside the taillight unit that has fallen off and now is loose inside the unit itself. It appears that it is a "snap-on" installation when the unit is assembled. There is no-way to fix this without destroying the sealed unit. Dealer wants $150 for a replacement.

5 Brake Light problem of the 2003 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 05/11/2010

The contact owns a 2003 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that both rear brake lights failed. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that brake light cover would have to be replaced. The dealer stated that the cover would fracture easily on the vehicle. The failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 115,000.
