My newborn / 3 month old car seat gets stuck to the base and refuse to release even if when I am engaging the release latch. It has happened on several occasions before this incident. After hearing about the graco recall with the same issue, I waited to see if it would happen again, and sure it did. The thought of me losing my baby in an emergency due to the carseat getting stuck is scary, please investigate. Model type was not listed in your menu model ic-130 bve / comfy carry elite plus/ gx1 (related vehicle information: model year=2008, make=Honda, model=pilot).

My child's radian 80sl super-latch comes loose even on short car rides. Once the belt is tightened down it comes loose with normal driving. The car seat is installed correctly and is installed tightly. Also, I can put pressure on the tilt-lock mechanism with one finger and it comes completely loose. (related vehicle information: model year=2010, make=pilot, model=Honda).

Superlatch loosening immediately after installation, every time. Harness straps slipping and becoming loose/adjuster plate not locking properly approximately 50% of the time. Discontinued use of car seat due to lack of safety. (related vehicle information: model year=2004, make=Honda, model=pilot).

I installed my radian80sl rearfacing with latch two days ago -- I am aware of the problems it's been having in certain vehicles so I was extremely cautious to check that it went in tightly, the superlatch strap was not loosening, the adjuster was not on the edge of the belt path, the tab was not easy to push down, etc. The strap was completely tight and I felt I had a vehicle that was free of problems, so I went ahead and used it that way. (I typically use a seatbelt install in a different seating position, but the latch install is easier. ) two children have ridden in the seat since then -- 34 & 36lbs -- without incident. Today I went to remove the seat, and noted that the superlatch strap was loose. I would guess there was about an inch between the radian itself and the latch adjustor. I do have a photograph if NHTSA would like to see the exact extent of the loosening. I have not yet contacted sunshine kids but will do so shortly. I will also be installing solely with the seatbelt from here on out. (related vehicle information: model year=2006, make=Honda, model=pilot).

I purchased a radian 80sl in February of this year (seat dom- 1/2010, superlatch belt dom- 12/2009) and installed it right away. It was installed with the superlatch belt and with much less than 1" of movement when checked at the belt path. A few weeks ago I noticed that the tilt lock adjuster on the superlatch belt had moved further down on the seat. I checked for movement at the belt path and it was a good 2"+ of movement. Since then I was needing to tighten it everyday, however I have stopped using it altogether since my 2 year old is able to push the release on the superlatch belt and loosen the seat even more. I also noticed that the seat gradually reclined greater than 45 degrees on its own (I assume this is due to the superlatch loosening). (related vehicle information: model year=2005, make=Honda, model=pilot).

My convertible child restraint comes equipped with a latch strap with a stated limit of 80 lbs (superlatch). When I install the seat using the superlatch strap, I am repeatedly finding that within two days of normal use, the installation becomes significantly looser-sometimes as much as 2-3 inches of movement. As a child passenger safety technician, I am confident that the seat is installed correctly and tightly to begin with. I know that I am not the only person reporting this for this seat. I have also had the superlatch clip/hook mechanism come detached from my vehicle's latch anchor bars several times, despite hearing an audible click when installing the seat and pulling on the strap to ensure proper attachment at the time on installation. The superlatch strap adjuster is failing to maintain tightness and the connectors are not remaining securely attached to the latch bars, both of which are unacceptable. The manufacturer's "solution" is to install with the vehicle belt and/or replace the original superlatch strap with a standard 40-48 lb latch strap. (related vehicle information: model year=2010, make=Nissan, model=sentra).
