1 Seats problem of the 2019 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 09/19/2025

While operating I was on highway driving my car the driver seat was set up according to my height, when I use the break to slow down for the heavy traffic during the rush hour wasn't that fast at all I believe my car was at 30 in mph around somehow my car seat dropped too low and I was afraid that I can barley seen in the front. Some how I manage to get home but not sure if there is blown fuses, faulty switches, or loose wiring connectors under the seat or electrical seat problems. This vehicle is from year 2019 when we purchased. I haven't call the Honda for service yet, cause it's weekend now. I will call on following Monday 22. For check up.

2 Seats problem of the 2021 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 08/20/2025

There is already an active recall , ohb 24v-064, on this vehicle for a seat weight sensor circuit board. I have made numerous inquiries at two local Honda dealerships in phoenix over the last 9 months about getting this fixed, but they never have the part(s) available. One dealership, bell Honda, promised six months ago to call me when they got the parts; I have not heard back from them. I went to another dealership, right Honda in scottsdale, yesterday for some other maintenance. They just told me that the parts were not available and could not tell me when or if they would have them.

3 Seats problem of the 2023 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 05/01/2025

Safety concern: 2023 Honda Pilot – persistent false seat belt warnings (2nd & 3rd row seats) issue description: repeated false seat belt warnings originating from: second-row middle seat third-row passenger-side seat the system triggers loud, repetitive auditory alerts and dashboard warnings even when seats are unoccupied or belts are properly buckled. Attempted fixes (unbuckling/rebuckling, restarting the vehicle, power cycles) fail to resolve the issue. Alerts recur intermittently, causing significant distraction. Safety risks: driver distraction: constant false alarms increase crash risk by diverting attention from the road. Alert fatigue: occupants may ignore all seat belt warnings due to repeated false positives, compromising safety. Sensor/system failure: indicates potential defects in seat occupancy sensors, wiring harnesses, or body control module (bcm) software affecting multiple seating zones. Expanded scope: affects critical seating positions (2nd row middle is common for child seats; 3rd row is high-traffic). Issue emerged immediately post-warranty (typically 3 years/36k miles).

4 Seats problem of the 2021 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 01/01/2025

I would like to present an issue with the third row seat headrest in my 2021 Honda Pilot. After stowing the third row seat to utilize the rear storage area the third row driver side head rest on the seat would not return to the upright position. After a few attempts to fold the seat/reset the position of the seat and still the headrest not folding up - took to dealership and upon their inspection determined the seat folding mechanism (which also folds the headrest) needed to be replaced. This was not covered by the factory warranty nor the extended warranty company which the dealership uses. As such, the mechanism needed to be replaced by the dealership (the third row in my vehicle is used everyday for occupants).

5 Seats problem of the 2005 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 10/08/2024

I was leaning back looking backwards while reversing and the front left seat bracket on the driver’s seat cracked and separated resulting in my seat turning into a rocking chair and my feet coming off of the pedals. It could have ended in an accident.

6 Seats problem of the 2006 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 10/01/2024

While driving, the seat came off the base and something was loose, the seat basically will fall back if you just lean back, while stop and go the seat will also move back, something is loose or broken, this is a defect from Honda. Yes this can be inspected upon request this is dangerous because the seat can break off and just fall back anytime not only impact the driver safety while it can also hurt someone sitting behind it no the seat has not been inspected by anyone other during oil change check was told to have someone to look at it. No there is no warning or message or any symptoms before the failure.

7 Seats problem of the 2021 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 09/07/2024

1) recall 2020-22 multi-model seat weight sensor safety recall. Called since February 2024 when it was posted. I called the dealership and was told that I will received a postcard by mail. I have been waiting for the postcard and called multiple dealerships multiple times. I have been told that they don't have the parts to fix the issue and be put on the waiting list until further notice. 2)the screen goes off or it goes blurry. 3)the car charger goes out sometimes too.

8 Seats problem of the 2018 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 08/13/2024

In March of 2018, a recall came out for the electric motor and and mounting bracket on the driver side seat adjustment. We purchased this Pilot new in September of 2018. The seat motor has quit working, but we cannot find the recall anywhere. It seams to me like we should be able to get it recalled and get the motor and bracket replaced!!.

9 Seats problem of the 2021 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 03/24/2024

Third row seat headrest on passenger side will not stay up, so actually does make the seat unusable. Numberous complaints have been posted on line as a manufacturing defect, and a service bulletin was issued. I do not think it has ever worked I purchased the car in March of 24 with only 27,000 miles still under Honda warranty. Discovered the issue when trying to use the third row seat. Dealer said there are no parts to fix it. Another dealer said they can fix it $650. 00. Should not be responsible for paying for this to be fixed. On line states there is a recall number y7y. Honda customer service can not find anything. I bought a Honda because it is a Honda.

10 Seats problem of the 2018 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 02/14/2024

I bought the car three days prior to this event. On February 14, 2024, I reached into the third row to lower the seats and I pulled the black strap toward me like it says to do in the manual and the seat came down so hard it crushed my hand between the seat and the side of the car and broke my 5th metacarpal in 3 places. I had to have surgery 6 days later and had hardware put in my hand. Even the emergency room doctor said there is something wrong with my seat. This story is similar to the boy that got crushed in the third row seat and died. Why is this seat like this? I realize if this was a child it would be all over the news but I am an adult and our lives matter much less to the media.

11 Seats problem of the 2021 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 01/01/2024

My car is showing no signs of having any problems. I do however use this car for my business and have not been able to use it because of this recall. It has been a little over a year since it got recalled and I call every week just to get rejected time and time again. This car has been out of service in my business since I am not allowed to use it when any recalls are pending.

12 Seats problem of the 2023 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 01/01/2024

The contact owns a 2023 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost power steering functionality. There was an abnormally loud grinding sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the power steering system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact stated that the driver's seat was moving whenever the brake pedal was depressed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, motor werks of barrington (1475 s barrington rd, barrington, IL 60010); who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 8,468.

13 Seats problem of the 2006 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 12/11/2023

About 9 days ago our Honda Pilot (parked, off, keys out of ingnition) had a malfunction in the drivers side heated seat and caught fire burning half the seat and the door, this could have happened while driving which makes this a massive safety issue, I had previously had my car checked out only days prior to incident and nothing was found. There was no indication, warning lights anything to tell us this would happen no one has checked the car since because we have no money and the car is no longer legal to drive.

14 Seats problem of the 2004 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 09/20/2023

I heard a loud pop come from under my driver's seat and the seat started rocking backwards. I got out of my car and checked underneath the seat. The front-left bracket securing the seat to the seat frame had completely sheared in half and the seat was no longer securely attached to the seat frame. This is a significant safety issue. When the car accelerates the driver's seat rocks backwards by ~45 degrees, making it extremely difficult to stay in control of the vehicle and safely steer the vehicle. It is also extremely unsafe in the case of an accident because a) the seat would not hold the driver securely in place, b) the driver would not be properly in position and restrained for the air bags to deploy, c) the seat belt is attached to the seat base and would not be able to fully function properly, and d) any passengers sitting in the 2nd row behind the driver's seat would be in danger of having the full force of the driver and the driver's seat slamming back against them. This is a known issue widely reported in Honda Pilot owners' forums. Yet Honda has not issued a recall. I took the vehicle into a Honda dealership to inspect the issue. They said that Honda no longer makes the part that would be required to fix this safety issue. This issue affects all 2003-2008 model year Honda Pilots. There were over 800,000 2003-2008 model year Pilots sold and because of Honda vehicle's longevity there is a massive number of these vehicles still on the roads.

15 Seats problem of the 2007 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 09/15/2023

Driver's seat front left mounting bracket snapped. Seat now rocks backward under pressure or during acceleration, and runs the risk of detaching completely in a collision. Over one hundred reports of similarly compromised driver's seats in Honda Pilot series 2003 - 2007 (mine is a 2007). Available for inspection upon request. Honda needs to issue a safety recall before injuries and fatalities start occurring.

16 Seats problem of the 2020 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 09/01/2023

Another vehicle pulled out in front of me, I had to slam on my brakes to prevent accident. The second row passenger seat unlatched and slammed forward. Had my daughter been with me she would have been seriously hurt or worse. Her seat slammed forward and was lodged into the back of the front seat. I honestly do not believe this was related to her seat not being locked in place well on my behave. Anytime one of the second two seats are moved I make sure they are pushed back as far as they will go to give the kids the most leg available. I truly believe I had to hit my brakes so hard the seat latch/lock failed and released the seat.

17 Seats problem of the 2007 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 07/12/2023

In mid 2023 while driving I excellerated and the driver seat fell backwards and to the right about 5 inches. I pulled over and discovered something under the left hand front side of driver seat had broke. I had a box and other stuff in the trunk and put it in the backseat to prop it up while I drove home. Discilovered a week later the side bracket had broke. And it was a part riveted onto the main seat. I had it welded but didn't trust the weld alone. I started fabrication of a bracket overlay (Honda wanted a fortune for the one part). After months of it being parked over the winter I bought another 2007 Honda Pilot for parts. Sad that Hondas quality has declined. Very dangerous, and the same thing had happened to a lot of other owners. Not something that should happen at any mileage. Ours had about 176k on it.

18 Seats problem of the 2021 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 05/07/2023

Last week the the security alarm went off for no reason. The following day, I arrived to work and parked my car. 45 minutes later, I am notified my headlights were on. I always keep my headlights on auto so they never should have been on. After I started my car for a minute, everything seems fine. 3 hours later, I hear an alarm in the parking lot but did not think it was my vehicle. I leave work and go to outside and realize my alarm has been going off for a couple of hours. I go to open my vehicle and try to start the car but all the whole dashboard lit up and the speakers were popping and making horrible noises. I could not get the car started and my driver seat kept moving on its own. I called Honda of murfreesboro and they advised that I needed to get my vehicle towed. I receive a call the next day and I was told that it had an electrical malfunction and the entire keyless access control unit needed to be replaced along with the connector ends. I have had several issues with the 2021 Pilot and this takes the cake. First it was the auto/stop at a red light and it completely shut off the engine. I had to turn the vehicle off and shift to park and then start the car. Also my "warning brake" lights come on randomly which alarms me and it will shift the car over. I also have had some issues with getting on an entrance ramp and the car doesn't want to pick up speed and I push the gas and the rpm's rev. This vehicle is unsafe.

19 Seats problem of the 2019 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 03/01/2023

The sensor system for my car are malfunctioning when the car is off. This causes the fuse system to malfunction and power the vehicle without keys being located near the vehicle. The car tries to start as well as the lights flash, dash turns on, and also the horn blares. The fuse system located under the steering wheel sounds like it will spark or blow fuses. The dealer is unable to fix the problem until may because the part is backordered due to many others having the same issue. This has been occurring for months. This issue required the removal of the horn fuse which is a public and personal safety hazard to drive without a functioning horn. The technician with Honda also mentioned I should remove the battery cable every night to prevent the car from draining the battery. The technician himself is also experiencing the same problem with his car.

20 Seats problem of the 2004 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 01/20/2023

Brakes seem to stop suddenly must brake slowly to avoid a sudden stop seatbelt locks up if I do not pull it forward and leave room in the belt so that it isn't completely holding me in also the driver seat will only adjust sideways.

23 Seats problem of the 2017 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 08/07/2022

There was a rattle coming from the middle seats, specifically on the passenger side. Upon checking I found out that the middle seats were not locking properly. Actually, they could be folded down using your bare hands rather than the buttons and other mechanism to fold the seats. Therefore, in case of an accident, the seats are not likely to keep latch and may fold on any individual sitting in the middle seats. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed. Seats are not supposed to fold using your hands but by either pressing a button or using a handle.

24 Seats problem of the 2018 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 06/27/2022

Per dealer service center the front passenger defect seat frame need to be replaced. This is a manufacturer defect although this vehicle was not on the recall list of Honda service bulletin 18-042, it should have been. This vehicle has not been any accident to cause a seat frame problem. Could cause harm if in accident. The dealer service and Honda american is offering to pay half on the $1,853. 60. This a manufacturer defect and I should not have to pay.

25 Seats problem of the 2005 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 05/10/2022

The drivers side seat bracket has a broken weld causing the seat to wobble & rock while driving the vehicle. From the Pilot driver’s online forum it’s been known as a common complaint that Honda is not willing to confess to or interested in resolving as a safety design flaw as it seems to be related to multiple yrs 2004 & up of the Pilot vehicle & happens over time.

26 Seats problem of the 2017 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 05/01/2022

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver's side front seat inadvertently moved backward. The dealer was made aware of the failure and scheduled an upcoming appointment. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 22,000.

27 Seats problem of the 2017 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 04/01/2022

The drive side power seat will not raise above a certain height, and compromises a shorter drivers visibility and proper driving potion (someone under ~5'"6'). This is a know problem caused by a part failure and is documented in Honda service bulletin 18-034 (clicking from the driver's power seat while using the height or tilt). As a result of service bulletin 18-034, this voids the extended warranty that was purchased with the vehicle and Honda USA will not cover the repair as it is out of original warranty. This is a safety concern as stated above and the need to place a cushion under the drive to raise their height puts the seatbelt at an unsafe position. The cost of repair is excessive at $2,400 but regardless of cost this is a known problem and a safety concern for both driving and in a crash.

28 Seats problem of the 2018 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 01/01/2022

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Pilot. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 18v221000 (seats) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

29 Seats problem of the 2009 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 07/05/2021

I reclined the drivers seat to nap. After my nap the seat would not recline back into seating position. To get the seat to come forward I had to get out of my car and with one hand operate the knob and the other hand pulled the seat forward. The seat did not come fully upright and I had no support from the seat as I started to drive again. After driving for 10 min I found another place I could safely pull over. I once again got out of the car and pushing the knob in the direction that would bring the seat up with one had and pulling on the seat with the other hand finally got the seat in the full upright position. I finished my drive home and proceeded to call the dealership to schedule an appointment for the seat to be looked at. The dealership told me that the motor/drive system needed to be replaced as it was coming apart. The problem was that when they looked to see if a motor could be ordered a whole seat needed to be ordered. Now I have a seat that should I try to adjust the seat back I may never get it back into original position. I was quoted $1872. 73 for a new seat and they would need the car for two days because the seat would need to go to the upholstery shop and that would be another $500 because the seat is leather.

30 Seats problem of the 2005 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 12/31/2020

Tl the contact owns a 2005 Honda Pilot. The contact stated while at a standstill reaching back in his seat the seat riser fractured causing the driver's seat to move back and forth in the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to local dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 185,000.

31 Seats problem of the 2018 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 09/05/2020

I was made aware of an urgent safety recall that the driver & front passenger seats were assembled with improperly manufacturered rivits used to secure the slide rail frame to the vehicle floor. I scheduled an appt for the recall on 3/02/19 @ huntington Honda. I was told they had the parts & would do the recall when I brougjt my car for the appt. They did not do the work & told me that is Honda's procedure is that they never repair recalls on the 1st appt. Then I made an appt at Honda city for the recall repair to be done on 03/14/20 I made sure they had the parts before the appt. . Again the repair was not done and I was told they never repair it the 1st time they see it. I scheduled the next appt at Honda city for the recall repair on 09/05/20 & again it was not done. I believe Honda will continue wasting my time & causing me expenses & loss of salary every time I make an appt for this recall repair. I do not believe they have any intention of ever repairing this recall.

32 Seats problem of the 2013 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 05/20/2020

The car has engine check light and traction lights are on. Mechanic diagnosed the codes to match a recall which my VIN is excluded even thought I am facing the same exact issue. Piston misfiring and the engine can lock at any time causing an accident. Codes give to me by mechanic that said that Honda should address this issue: dtc - p0301 and p0304. Bulletin -13-082. Dtc 83-11 and dtc - 83-12. Dealership never mentioned this to me I had to go to independent mechanic. Info: https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2013/sb-10053786-6271. Pdf summary: "the piston rings on certain cylinders may rotate and align which can lead to spark plug fouling. This can set dtcs p0301 through p0304 and cause the mil to come on" this issue came up two times. First the dealership asked me to service all car parts which I did to get the engine light fixed - cost me $1000. Then the second time the check engine light came on they told me they cleaned the pistons and I should be good. The third time I brought the car back to them all in about three weeks, they said OH. . . You need $3k to do this procedure which Honda recommends and then I lost it. I realized I was being played and I took it to independent mechanic which brought this to my attention. I have been trying to contact american Honda over the phone and they do not answer any calls. The number rings 3 times then plays some music and then ends the call. I also sent them an email which caused mr mario representing american Honda, to call me. I missed his call and I called him back multiple times but he is never in the office. Case reference: # 11373382.

Failure Date: 11/27/2019

Upon entering the vehicle and sitting in the driver's seat, I heard a loud pop and then noticed that the seat was extremely loose and would rock backwards as if something was broken. I removed the side cover and found that there was a failed seat mount bracket that had broken in half. The vehicle is currently undriveable until the seat is fixed since the seat sways backwards on acceleration which could lead to an accident. I am not aware of any active recall for this issue but I believe it should be investigated as it is a major safety concern!.
